i agree with lloydbalazar. did you know that according to harper's bazaar's campaign "Fakes are never in Fashion", we lose up to 600 million dollars a year? last year, 9 million dollars worth of fake items were confiscated in chia town alone in NY. plus, its terrible for the designer. i mean, they spend so much time/effort into designing their lines. shouldnt we do ur best to support them the very least, by nt buying fake items. people, have a little respect.

unfortunately, the purchase of fake bags is a very serious issue. These bags are not only an infringment on the designers creativity and hard work, but are produced by children in sweatshops. The money collected in their purchase many goes to support drug cartels, prostitution rings and even terrorist organizations. Buying fakes (and keeping their production alive) is not only an issue of looking "tacky", but its a crime.

People who follow fashion religiously take ideas and designs seriously because its a form of identified art. There are people who are willing to pay the price for those designs and ideas because that is how art is patronized throughout history. If you think a replica makes the "same look" for fraction of the cost---you are dead wrong. The fake brands have fake leather, poor cheap materials and embarassing craftmanship. I think it has something to do with social class or something of the like. People will try to imitate what they can't afford, and show it off as if it's real. Many people do that, and the truth is; why should you buy something fake, show it off, although you can't afford it?... I think it shows a bit of a fake personality too, just in my opinion.
