Hi,

is anyone here in a drill team?

I am from germany and I will spend the next year in the usa. I really would like to join a drill team. What do I have to can/do for it? Must I can do the splits? How are drill try outs like?

I am.But mines is better than this one.i go 2 oaks  middle school. and well im my drill team u dont have 2 do the spilts.and tryouts 4 us was u were with a partner and they told us made it by posting a paper by the libary.so well cherrleding is harder.

All you need is enthusiasm, commitment and hard-work. Most drill teams require their members to do the splits, but it really depends on the school. I hope you'll try out, kick a lot of ass at competitions, then post your videos on here and I'll definitely check them out. =] Good luck.

Hope this isn't too late...but your best bet is to attend a school that has 2nd tryouts in the fall. Most schools only have tryouts in the spring, in which case you'd probably be out of luck.

Also, there are several styles of drill and they can be vastly different depending on which region you're in. If you're interested in the style shown here, you'll want to be heading to western Washington. You'll also need to be tenacious about getting onto drill, calling up the school to get the drill coach's number, seeing if you can be given special consideration for being an exchange student, just figuring out the logistics, etc. Good luck.

drill is the movement of a unit from one place to another in a unified manner. so it doesn't apply only to military drill. this can also be called drill. stupids

this is drill, it is the more feminine drill, but it is drill and very good drill to boot. I am more amazed by the length of the routine and how they all had such great stamina! Also, the variety of moves used was great!

Okay, ripples only look like they are "perfect" because of the color of their uniforms...and the music...i understand they are trying to give some variation and be open-minded but it is not working...this is a routine 4 year olds can do much better...trust me, I've seen little kids do drill team at a much higher level of competition...I have proof.
