  • What exactly did Hear N' Aid benefit? Or, am I right in saying that this the Metal Version of "We are the World," by Michael Jackson?

  • @CrazyRockstar123456 it was back in the 80s when every rock/pop star out there all stepped and put records together to help out the massive famine that struck rwanda,a movement that was started by bob geldof in 1984 with the original version of do they know its Christmas. Tragically as much money as these videos raised the famine continued and continues to this day.... Gotta love Yngwie Malmsteen, Miss his guitar chops!!!

  • Fuck yeah!!! this is fucking heavy metal!!!

  • This is much better than that fucking Waving Flag song.

  • bruce declined to sing in this if i remember right;)

  • Back when your voice made you a singer

  • What a great group of musicians. Whether you like metal of not. RJD we miss you.

  • I wonder how many fights there were making this. All the bands at one place.

  • @Dandaek Probably none. They're some of the nicest people on the planet, making music for a good cause, not fights.

  • All the vocalists are class and are a credit to metal but the decent guitarists stand out ie brad gillis, yngwie and george lynch due to their distinctive chops.

  • descanse en pas ronnie james dio uno de mis heroes de la musca

  • I wonder how many alcoholic drinks were consumed during the making of that.

  • This is Expendables, the musical.

  • This is Genial cool

  • They were not even included in the retrospectives on the 25th anniversary of We Are The World.

  • I remember this so well and I remember like so many of the members of this effort feeling andy that they were just basically ignored when the efforts for Africa were drawn up in the UK and the USA, as if Metalheads are not concerned with the fate of the world. Do they ever read the fucking lyrics?

  • Fan fucking tastic

  • All those idiots who have accused metal music these last 30 years with all those bull that they where talking about what did they do for the poor children of the third world???? This is what the barbarians of heavy metal did.

  • WHO CRIES FOR RONNIE JAMES DIO? THE WORLD DOES IT

  • And yet, for most people Heavy Metal is a barbarian music with brutal vocals...Um, yeah.Ok

  • Where was Buck Dharma?

  • Blackie Lawless

  • Oh gosh EPIC won't just cover it <3

  • i wonna cry that i see them all together in one song !!

  • "We are forever, you and IIIIIIIIII" - Geoff Tate is one of many, many legends in this mutha

  • ii agree with Juaneparga

  • People bashing on this song are total dicks.... This is one of the most monumental performances in metal history and showed that the Metal community can ban together to do great things. Fuck the "Metal Atrocities" guy!

  • @Deth0 nah, this is pretty cheesy. this made me blush a lot. Yngwie Malmsteen and the vocal performances themselves are good, but that's it.

  • @Colbystrns Go back to your mommy's basement you fake ass poser

  • @Deth0 if by poser you mean listening to progressive metal, black metal, death metal, thrash metal, power metal, jazz, classical, avant-garde, death/doom, progressive rock, alternative rock, indie rock, gothic rock, folk metal, neofolk, psychedelic rock, symphonic metal, electronica, synthpop, new wave, grunge, post-metal, and so forth? yeah, i'd like to call that having a diverse taste in music. i'm assuming you just listen to big name bands? good for you. ;)

  • @Colbystrns And btw, don't bullshit yourself about your 'diverse taste of music' cause you obviously have no respect fo rmetal if your dissing its god-father

  • @Deth0 You can still have a diverse taste and not like particular kinds of music, it depends. just because I dont like one 80's glam/hair metal song, doesn't mean I'm close-minded, this song just does not reflect my musical tastes, that's all. This song is not the Godfather of metal (how can a "song" claim that title?), Black Sabbath is, and that band is legendary. I can listen to metal music, but still listen to other genres as well, you know, it's not like Metal rules everything in existence.

  • @Colbystrns I've been saying this whole time not to dis this song because it was a great point in metal history. Frankly i don't give a shit who likes it or doesn't. And ofcourse the song isn't the godfather of metal, Dio is the godfather of metal. And obviously people can listen to other genre's as a musician listening to a bit of everything is the only way to advance, its simply the fact that your dissing metal's greatest players and still saying you like what was it 6 types of metal? Fail.

  • @Colbystrns Also tell what's his face that half the shit he said isn't relavent in any way, shape or form, and as a recording artist i'm sure i would know the difference between a good musician and a good songwriter. Also, for his guitar playing, it's not just a few mistakes, its just the fact that he tries to play guitar, i couldn't even listen to his cover all the way, NO transitions WHATSOEVER it was horrid, where's the musicianship?

  • @Deth0 the reviewer/guitarist you just blasted for no particular reason other than being a troll has such an awesome channel, i will do no such thing on your behalf. This is the main reason why I get so frustrated with those who only listen to BIG name bands (Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Journey, etc), they think they know "everything" about music, until they stumble upon the grand musical underground and realize how naïve they really are. Do some exploring b4 bashing others schmuck.

  • @Colbystrns If i listened to big name bands i'd just be another lame ass guitarist with no job. Once again changing the subject because you fail to be able to pose a phesable argument. I learned all my playing and musicality from owning a collection of Buckethead, Primus, Deli Creeps, Krokus, Bumblefoot and others BY EAR. So don't give me shit about listening to 'BIG name bands'. Both you guys making fun of one of the best things thats probably ever happened for the metal community... Wtf?

  • @Deth0 took you long enough, btw, those bands you just mentioned are pretty big as well. just letting you know, and good for you for learning by ear! (not like I really give a damn, but whatever) ;). I did not even know about this particular song until about a few weeks ago, but I still did not like it, sorry you can't handle conflicting opinions.

  • bieber has more views. yes something is wrong, plus he has prolly had more women then these guys too hehe. jks, the beebs has made it big, i dont know how, but this song is awesome, dio and the queensryche guy show some awesomeness, dave murray and adrian smyth are the best.

  • Yngwie malmsteen,,is the best dam lead guitarist in the fukn world!!!!,,I seen him live at the Fillmore,in san Francisco recently ,,n he still was riffing to the max,and i seen journey this year too,,,he kicked Neil schon ass,,although Neil can play good,,he just dont compare, none of the lead guitarist are at malmsteens level!!!!,,real fukn talk,,rock on malmsteen!!

  • I still have the original cassette tape. It is a bit worn out ... but I can play it on my ol' tape recorder. One Side 2. It has songs from Motorhead.

  • Hey I don't know if anyone remembers this but there was a Metal song that was recorded for victims of the Soccer /Football Tragady of the 80,s I think it was for the hilsbourough tragady . does anyone remember name of that song and if there is a video of it on here ?

  • Can someone please tell me who's the funny fella in pink jacket at 1:25? Paul Shortino kicks ass in this song!

  • @kazuyasd that would be the late, great, Kevin DuBrow, of Quiet Riot

  • I'm not sure if you can get more technical than Yngwie, as sloppy as he is sometimes

  • The man on the silver mountain, forever you will shine Dio...

  • This is awesome, and my Favs Dave Murray and Adrain Smith, Dio is Awesome, some awesome singing by all of them. But most of all Dave and Adrian hehe

  • the metal gods°

  • The 38 dislikes are Bieber's Fan club

    Rock In Peace DIO

  • who dislike this video???????

  • @GrDinomatyas hardcore kids most likely

  • awesome shit! but they didnt use dave murray and adrian smith at all from what i saw?! :S

  • @jorgenschroen08 They're at 4:57, the last ones in the soloing section.

  • @musicman8493 bearly. like and that was not the type of solo murray and smith are able to deliver,

  • bullshit, metal is underground music, the stars do pop ,R&B and shit like that.

    p.s. the song is horrible

  • I was so happy when I saw Adrian Smith & Dave Murray :D

  • la neta la caña y la ley siempre va hacer el heavy metal

  • Que época mais maravilhosa deve ter sido esta!

  • I like how Yngwie and George Lynch were next to each other, they're probably the two most technically talented guitarists there. But Vivian Campbell is my favorite of all of them.

  • @JamesIsMyNamo2 I think you'll find Neil Schon is just as technical as Lynch and Yngwie

  • @mordig I really don't think they are in the same league at all in that regard. But you can show me a video/song that will help me find that!

  • @JamesIsMyNamo2 I have seen both yngwie and schon live, I have no video to show you but when I saw Schon he can go into some exquisite solos. He doesn't show his full potential on the Journey albums as it wouldn't fit with the songs that they wrote.

  • @mordig Well naturally I guess I'd have to hear it to believe it, I'm not doubting you, I just place Yngwie and George Lynch on one of the top levels technically, and I never considered Schon as near that level. But his stuff on the first two Journey albums is really melodic and awesome.

  • R.I.P Dio!!!!
