my all time favorite playoffs after the carolina edmonton finals... too bad my philly lost but with chicago so far out of the picture and flyers in first place so far im liking the chances of them bringing home stanley this year.
I'll just generalize the comment, too many "@ _____". Hawks aren't dominant. Nowhere near that. 21 GP and 22 PTS isn't impressive for any team, much less the Cup defenders. Hawks have a core but, you're missing something called DEPTH.
No way Hawks can repeat their heroics again minus the talent they had...but they'll be in the playoffs no less...Toews will be MVP again, and the team is great, just not nearly as dominant as they were...and without Niemi the goalie position leaves a literal and mental gap in our team...but they'll do well enough no doubt
That Hossa Hoist still gives me the chills.... Love me some Chicago Blackhawks! CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THE SEASON BEGINS!! Hawks did lose a bunch of good players, but I still think they'll be a top 4 seed in the West.... Toews, Kane, Sharp, Hossa, Bolland, Keith, Campbell, Seabrook is as good a core as anybody... Yea buddy
@ChiBulls23MJ lol if you think the hawks have a chance your retarded. no team can be consistently good, unless your from detroit. detroits is the ONLY team the last 20 years where every year you say "yup. we got a damn good shot at winning it this year" hawks are a 1 year wonder.
The game-winning goal that Kane scored just goes to show why hockey is a niche sport. Skip Bayless is dead-on with his criticisms of hockey. Enjoy your fluke goals.
@NapalmHipster I think hockey's niche status in the States has more to do with ice availability than anything else. I think you need a critical mass of recreational players of all ages to have a critical mass of viewers but that's difficult to do when you're relying on indoor rinks for ice time. Any Canadian kids fondest hockey memories will always be from some game he played outdoors rather than indoors and its on those sentiments that you build an appreciation for the game. Just a thought.
@GorterPoss Actually my fondest hockey was an indoor game in my local league when I was really really young. It was during the christmas season, like really close to christmas, and we were playing the top team. Only 3 fowards, 2 defence and our 2 goalies showed up, so we all played the whole 60 mins, and won. Most fun game ever. :-)
@NapalmHipster Skip Bayless is rarely dead on with anything. With that being said, any sport has it's fluky plays. His beloved NBA has the lucky shots and bounces. A lot of the NFL's greatest plays were luck and flukes. Seriously, that is a horrible argument. If you would actually watch the playoffs, you would see how great and exciting of a sport it truly is. If the NBA and NFL don't solve the labor problems, prepare for more hockey coverage.
@NapalmHipster Skip Bayless is rarely dead on with anything. With that being said, any sport has it's fluky plays. His beloved NBA has the lucky shots and bounces. Love the short clip of Jean Béliveau walking away from the veteran Metropolit prior to Habs Pens game 6, where Habs pulled off the unbelievable upset.
wow! wow! this is amazing gives you goosebumps and makes you think about the amazing thing about the world of sport, "this is hockey baby, this is the playoffs."
This is the reason i play hockey, if i ever get to the nhl (unlikely) there is nothing better then scoring a goal for your team in the playoffs, this montage gave me goosebumps because it just shows how much these guys love hockey, they don't even care about their pay check, they just want to hold that cup
how do you think mike leighton feels? haha. i hate the flyers, but i feel terrible for the guy for lettin that one be the one that ended it. i really wish it ended with a cleaner, less flukey goal
but yea, this montage is just so overwhelming everytime i watch it.
One of the many amazing CBC montages. Loved the part with Craig Anderson. He really needs to take a bow. What a game to remember. My Blackhawks won in the end so this makes me really happy.
i love 1:51 with the colorado kid crying. it reminds me of how i was when i was little. even though i feel the same way, now its just more like controlled tears when my rangers get knocked out. haha.
hockey is the greatest thing on the planet. there's just nothing more overwhelming than playoff hockey. nothing can even compare to it.
@caleisgay ahaha well hockey is bigger than it has been in a long time after the olympics and the hype over this year's finals. I think ESPN signing with the NHL will only make it more popular in the US which isn't so much a bad thing
i was born about a month after the blackhawks lost the finals in the hands of mario lemieux and the penguins in 1992. safe to say, ive been waiting my whole life for this. great job hawks! you made a an entire city proud
this was the first year in seven years i missed the cup game. how tragic. i dont even know anyone that plays for the blackhawks and i'm a huge hockey fan. says alot about the teams in the play offs. lol
