I'll just generalize the comment, too many "@ _____". Hawks aren't dominant. Nowhere near that. 21 GP and 22 PTS isn't impressive for any team, much less the Cup defenders. Hawks have a core but, you're missing something called DEPTH.

No way Hawks can repeat their heroics again minus the talent they had...but they'll be in the playoffs no less...Toews will be MVP again, and the team is great, just not nearly as dominant as they were...and without Niemi the goalie position leaves a literal and mental gap in our team...but they'll do well enough no doubt

@NapalmHipster I think hockey's niche status in the States has more to do with ice availability than anything else. I think you need a critical mass of recreational players of all ages to have a critical mass of viewers but that's difficult to do when you're relying on indoor rinks for ice time. Any Canadian kids fondest hockey memories will always be from some game he played outdoors rather than indoors and its on those sentiments that you build an appreciation for the game. Just a thought.

@GorterPoss Actually my fondest hockey was an indoor game in my local league when I was really really young. It was during the christmas season, like really close to christmas, and we were playing the top team. Only 3 fowards, 2 defence and our 2 goalies showed up, so we all played the whole 60 mins, and won. Most fun game ever. :-)

@NapalmHipster Skip Bayless is rarely dead on with anything. With that being said, any sport has it's fluky plays. His beloved NBA has the lucky shots and bounces. A lot of the NFL's greatest plays were luck and flukes. Seriously, that is a horrible argument. If you would actually watch the playoffs, you would see how great and exciting of a sport it truly is. If the NBA and NFL don't solve the labor problems, prepare for more hockey coverage.

This is the reason i play hockey, if i ever get to the nhl (unlikely) there is nothing better then scoring a goal for your team in the playoffs, this montage gave me goosebumps because it just shows how much these guys love hockey, they don't even care about their pay check, they just want to hold that cup
