Back when New York was New York and not an East Coast version of North Carolina. The NY pride used to be strong as fuck. Now it's a whole generation of fake country kids raised on Southern redneck rap for the last 10 years. Its sad to hear of whats become of NY. (ASAP ROCKY)
@TheNarc19 because labels dropped the rugged hardcore acts after music stopped selling due to downloading. Labels started looking for a "hot" sound that would attract a wider audience and BAM there was Southern club/gangsta/hustler muzik .. You put sugar in anything and it makes more people eat it, but lyrically and spiritually hiphop was dumbed down, period.
it dont get no more real and upfront than what you just said bruh and im from Brooklyn and i kinda feel the same way to a degree..no worries though. we back underground though. Duck down records (and some others) as of late has been trying to keep it 90s funky on some new shit...soda pop crunk commercial music got our new gen kids here brain washed. Its only in spurts we may get some hardbody boom bap real NY flava now...it is what it is though smh
havent heard this in yeeeeeeeeeeeeears....someone randomly mentioned it the other day and the beat was stuck in my head all day. Had to Youtube this shit and hear it again. Still classic after 14 years. Wow.
16 when this came out in the summer of '97. Memories of a simpler time for me. Love it. And yeah, where did Tekitha go? I thought she was sexy back then and hoped to hear more from her. She looked looked cute but was still tough enough to hang with the fellas.
This is some all-star squad right her. I'm not even into singing like that but Tekitha got the illest voice too. I can't think of many singers at all that could ever fuck with her. This is when Hip Hop music was real and men used to dress and act like men, not some faggot-ass bitches like today.
Tekitha got that voice, every time i here her sing, and if my mood would be tired; I would begin to feel motivated, especially with RZA and his influential music production. BottomUP swarmed UP.... Shyhiem!!! Grow UP! Um Looking in but its a bunch a Fans respect U and see U as a WU CLAN MAN..I totally respect your animosity, but fronting on the WU man?
Anubuiss, you said it best...str8 nostalgia...i get goose bumps for tru hiphop like this, i love everybody's rhyme patterns especially Killa Sin..Wu Allstars..Tekitha is gorgeous and i love her voice..has anyone heard of he recently
