  • This is when MUSIC was MUSIC!!!

  • Took me forever to remember this was from Carry On! Love this version thank you for the upload!!!

  • Grow up with this and you become this!

  • great song of course....crosby is to loud as usual

  • Hair is our antenna to the cosmos. That's why bald people are uptight.

  • My hair is a symbol of my individuality & my belief in personal freedom.

  • Got my head shaved on Thanksgiving Day, 1971 courtesy of Uncle Sam, still had to pay 85 cents. I just remember Richard Sewell, a black guy passing by me singing this song right after we got our heads shaved and it made me smile. Thanks Richard wherever you are!

  • I cut my hair... just the other day.

    Last month.

I had been growing it since I was 15, and I am 35.

I started a new career teaching college, and I felt it was probably time to do it.

It was a mistake... I slipped, and I let society tell me what was the right thing.

A haircut is not a lifestyle; however, being true to yourself is.

My hair did not define me, but it was a part of me which I regret letting go of.

By the way... epic song, as always. New relevance to me now.

  • this is magic

  • this song represents real music

  • i also checked the 6-day fillmore east recordings, but it's not on there? (i might be blind).

  • which version is this? ive been trying to find this exact version forever. it's driving me nuts. the only one i can find is 8:32 or 8:34, the '74 live recording from long island, which is not the same.

  • @kjxdsdgadhg This is an alternate version (unreleased outtake) of the Deja Vu album song. It can be found on their box set CSN. I like it better because of the rarely-heard jamming these guys were capable of.

  • @kjxdsdgadhg this is the unedited, original recording that was released much later after Deja Vu. It was released on Carry On in 1998, a compilation of CSNY's greatest songs; look for Carry On on wikipedia to find out more if you're interested, but Carry On is not on iTunes, which makes this version, far better than Deja Vu's, harder to find or put on your laptop.

  • this song>lil wayne and other posers

  • Dad says I gotta cut my hair today.

  • lets go freak out some squares!

  • Did a lot of solo's on thisone

  • pretty sure this is from the csn box set.. fuckin amazing nonetheless

  • Beautiful......

  • I think it's just the studio version.

  • best version EVER! awesome lyrics

  • FILLMORE MUM!

  • this music needs to be revived

  • Agreed! Sounds like the studio version.

  • Aah - real music, with meaningful lyrics - what a joy! And I still let my freak flag fly!!

  • enjoy the song it is a great tune.

the Y gen is lost to untalented thugs.

    it is sad.

  • @stevet0 I feel sorry for us Y gen. :( I wish this music still rocked our freakin world.

  • This is THE version.

  • I don't know what made me go into the barbers last year.

Must be because I had the flu for Christmas.

Probably thinking that a 'neat and tidy' short back and sides would camouflage what a mess I was in otherwise. It's taking an eternity to grow back. I've promised myself that this year I won't give an inch to fear.

  • yeah bro, let your freak flag fly, c mon.

  • @nardo363636 It was at half-mast buddy. But now... It's billowing in the breeze bruv, billowing...

  • i have this album, but not cd. thanks1
