  • we all cover our favorites Brian revitalized a dead industry,Rockabilly and swing

  • 13 people are care about comin' their parents

  • today he pays tribute to his heros tomorrow we will be paying Brian Tribute

  • Brian respects these musicians more than anyone alive

  • Looks like 13 people decided to fuck up a perfectly good "like" bar before they went to their "Bieber" concert!

  • :(

  • i can't find this music for download

  • @manobrownneto Search "Youtube to mp3 converter" in google. Problem solved.

  • this is music!!!!!

  • Sid Vicious also did a great cover of this with the sex pistols back in the late 70s.

  • His body, omg.

  • perfect party song!

  • i'd put this as my go to bed and wake up music

  • what group originally did this song

  • @killerz560 This be an Eddie Cochran classic.

  • Comment removed

  • mafia 2!!!!!!!!!!

  • Man, when you play with the amplifiers behind you and the lights in your front, trust me, it's just matter of 30 minutes to sweat like hell.

  • For all of this saying "Setzer is the greatest". He is great, but surly not the best. Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Stevie ray Vaughan, BB King, they were the best. I'm not a troll, I love music as much as you guys. But he really isn't the best.

  • @Evan42881 That's surely subjective? My favourite artists, are to me, the best, but they haven't sold the most records ever, they can't shred or play a million notes a minute. It all depends on what you think makes them the best or greatest. So to you Setzer isn't the greatest, but to many people he is. And that's fine :)

  • @TheModCon I'm not sure. My brother posted this. I'm into all the guys he said, but I disagree with him. I like the stray cats, and I love Brian Setzer. Great guitar player.

  • @Evan42881

opinions bro its all about opinions you cant say "hes the best" or "he sucks" without considering that for some people he is.

  • @gretschbriansetzer Good point.

  • paris fête de l'humanité 1989 I was at this amazing show.

  • grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i love it !!!!!!!

  • Stunning live display from the 'Cats .......... My god .... how good were these 3 ???

  • @rocksolid93

You're just upset because you're getting a stiffy from staring at Brian Setzer's bare chest...

  • @Verbeke7 lawl he is 'rocksolid' after all ^^

  • @rocksolid93 Well by this point in this concert they had been playing for 18 songs, have left the stage once and then returned half naked.

I'd figure playing live that long gets quite hot and would be more comfortable shirtless.

Just my two cents on that one.

  • @rocksolid93

have yoou ever been on a stage in leatherjacket? after 1 hour you literally sweat your ass off.

  • @gretschbriansetzer yup ill agree with that!

  • Feckin gayfaces...

  • the 12 people that have clicked dislike !!! you all have serious metal issues there is not 1 guitarist or band like the stray cats that do what these guys doo and mr brian setzer him self is to me the greatest guitarist out there of these days and perhaps ever ...

  • That's the music I wanna bring too :)

  • BRIAN Setzer - What a talent!!!

  • I said it one,i have said it a thousand times.Brian Setzer is my favorite guitar player EVER !!!

  • EDDIE COCHRAN AND GENE VINCENT FOREVER. THANK YOU BRIAN

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! lol

  • Real Music, pure, handmade Rock'n Roll!!

  • Geniales!!!!!

  • I also reacted upon Stray Cats at another clip.

Here, yet again, just one word comes to mind (repeated):

    Respect. Respect. Respect.....

  • I got 44 tats & Brian is still amazing

  • i want HIS GUITAR

  • The SrayCats were a refreshing change from that New Wave.

  • great song!!! Eddie Cochran forever!!!!!!!!!!

  • >>>YEAH - the like bar is almost GREEN ! <<<

  • Brian Setzer is my all time fave guitar player.

  • i am 24, loved this since i was old enough to realise what listening to music was... started with stray cats, buddy holly and ritchie valens... quickly got into gene vincent and eddie cochran as well.... love it all these days.... i proudly wear my musical tastes litereally on my sleeves as well, with my stray cats logo tattoo taking pride of place on my forearm, in plain sight :D

  • @cdlund1987 I'd get tats like that too except whenever I have that much extra cash I usually buy more guitars! You sound like me though...oldies and Rockabilly are the shit.

  • virtualhorseman you have excellent taste

They are good very good there sound is pure rock n' roll

    Connelpark

    Scotland

  • my buddies and I covered alot of this music in high school 30 yrs ago with our band .. I miss the great times we had ... rocking the bars ... love the Stray Cats !!

  • from a 70 year old rocker , this is the buisness

Wish I had discovered these guys years ago

    eeeeeeha

    Connelpark

    Scotland

  • @connelpark From a 17 year old rocker, This stuff is still the business! :)

  • @VirtualHorsemen virtualhorseman you have excellent taste

They are good very good there sound is pure rock n' roll

    Connelpark

    Scotland

  • This version is good. It's raw in a restrained sort fo way. If you want a really energetic version, check out the Zeppelin cover from RAH, a whole nother level of intensity.

  • Brian's leads actually surpass the originals. This little band kicks ass!

  • Just shows you how great the old original rock and roll songs really were. Just about everyone has covered these tunes.

  • This really swings....great cover.

  • Led Zepplin covered this song too! Clearly Eddie Cochran made an impact with all rockers.

  • thought that was psychobilly

  • 50's guys..50's...it all began in 50's

  • @Groove1993 and got revived for a while because of these guys.

  • Fantasic version of this great song. Brian out does himself. Eddie would more than approve.

  • Cant beat the the good ol stray cats 4 covers of classic rockabilly!

  • shirtless men! YAY!

  • Love this!!

  • muito bom

  • This tune is loved.

It does also in my band.

It hears because of such a good sound and the thank you image impression

  • Positive music, great sound. What is the problem with dickheads dissing every other genre of music they don't like or listen to. Hit at search button and fuck off.

  • Humble Pie does a great version also

  • @Syzygy60 a jazz muscian named roland young designed some of their album covers dave brubeck too .

  • btw,eddie cochran wrote this

  • we remember

  • Setzer like myself new these songs when they were knew,we were 1 or 2 years old but remember

  • i dont care what people say .straycats did a good job with these oldies and goodies r.ls.

  • I don't care about Billy B. Thornton, I don't even like him as an actor. Every lame ass 1yr old can play as Brian Setzer does? Yeah, right! And you talk about U3, and say "this band sux balls"?

I was wrong, your head isn't full of crap, you' re just a dumbass.

  • i repeat...this band sux balls

  • Holy shit! My mind was blown when I started watching this. My favourite song covered by my favourite band ♥

  • Belloooo cazzooo! uaaauuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • U2 vs Stray Cats?

U2 are much bigger but I think the lion's share of playing ability lies with the Cats, to be honest ;-)

  • @lazydreamer1000 - first of all - "U3" - is that a U2 tribute band? I searched come on everybody by "U3" and couldn't find it, so I defaulted to come on everybody by "U2". Thought they killed it personally. Just because something's old doesn't mean it's not good. Otherwise people wouldn't still listen to classical music.

And if the U2 version is anything to go by, things only get worse as time goes on, from what I heard.

  • Brian Setzer is R&R . He is the ultimate R& R er. Deal with it!!!!!!

  • Rockabilly is authentic. Not surprising that younger generations don't get it. Newer bands don't live and die by their ability to play live. Appreciation will come with maturity.

  • sid didnt do anything better than anyone else except die

  • i just dont get rockabilly...its like, i have a car, and a cell phone, and a computer...soooo...lemme type you a letter and run it to the post office on my bicycle......every possible iterations of this crap has been done...IN THE 50s!!!!!!!

if you wanna see a good song, try come on everybody by u3...i just stumbled on this crap and i cant even beleive its real....lololol

  • @lazydreamer1000 Rockabilly started with Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochrane, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, etc, and it just goes on. It's not a revival, nor wishing to be born in the Fifties. You' re free to say you don't like it, but if you call it crap...then your head is full of crap too.

  • @AlessioCircelli if you like it..listen to it..my comment was fliggin funny..and true..its like these guys are saying: hey, remember when this was cool?? it still is!! even tho every lame ass 1yr old bar band can play it & its just rehashed crap, pay me money to play! did you see im using a wooden stand up base??? im retro..lol..its crap..

& 2 prove it: look up that lame fuk billy bob thorntons band..look at him spew his negativity on the cdc..sad santa

if u like buddy holly, listen to him!!

  • Setzer & Gretsch. Perfect.

  • To me- this is the rock 'n roll version, and Sid's was the punk version. So I love both versions! Geez people, it is just a song. TWO DIFFERENT KINDS OF GENRE. And both versions of this song rocks.

  • sid did it better

  • If you listen to Eddie Cochran's guitar playing you'll have to admitt that he was years ahead of his peers...

  • I love this song :) I will always be a rockabilly girl and always will be Stray Cats girl<33333333333333333

  • Comment removed

  • I love Stray Cats<3<3<3<3 Brian,Slim and Lee my boys ;)<3

  • eddie cochran did do this first

  • No body seems to know what punk is about... Because there isn't a definition. It's everything and nothing at once. It doesn't matter which is better. Sid's was good. The Cat's was good. Cochran's was good. Good fucking song. Move along. Like what you like. Don't confrom to something.. Shit, are you all fucking two?
  • @KyleH321 Conform*

  • One fine guitar player!!!!

  • Great cover by the Sexy Stray Cats :P Sid Vicious's cover might not have been good but it wasn't supposed to sound good, Sid was a Punk and you didn't have to be a good singer or good band member to be in a band in those days, that's what Punk was all about!!!

  • Led Zep played it best. Fuck the rest of it!

  • @trevplaydrums06 Yeah!

  • i agree this band does a great job with those old songs r.l.s.

  • That was a mouthful Arkady63.

I'll take it one further. They Stray Cats were

not only THE BEST Rockabilly band to come

out since the 1980's. They are equal to the greats

    such as Cochran, Holly, Vincent.

  • I finally made it to a Stray Cats gig, after nearly 30 years. Their first concert in Denmark in 82 or 83 got cancelled. i couldn't afford the next one in 1990ish, then passing though Hamburg Germany in 2004 i saw a poster for a Cats concert playing the day before, AAAAArghhh I HAD to make the Farewell tour.

  • Classic rockabilly from a rockabilly classic.

  • Brian's parents must be very proud of their rockabilly boy!!!

  • Brian channeled Eddie Cochran, Totally!

  • I love this voice :)

  • Can't they make a comeback? please..........

  • @Hallvard69 I agree! I wanna seethese 3 Cats LIVE! and dance my ass off and have an absolute BLAST! guaranteeeed!

  • @billc756

i saw them on the farewell tour, vids here.

  • @meharidude Checked out your 'Rock This Town' vid. I will never tire of the 'Cats, my friend. Long live Rockabilly!! YYYEEAAAAAAAHHH!!!

  • Awesome! Simple as!!

  • This boy's life soundtrack also

  • Brian Sezter rules!

  • Lord, he can make that Greatch sing! They are not the easiest of guitars to play solos on.

  • I like this version as well as Eddies.

  • Remake from eddie cochran. FUCK YEAH!!

  • @Greaserville Eddie lives on through Brian, it seems1 I love Rockabilly! It's good-time music. I think the basic message is: Let's have a good time and ROCK OUT!

  • @billc756 I totally agree on your response, Brian does have eddie characteristic. Long Live rockabilly!

  • @Greaserville Yes sir, Yes sir Oh Pompadoured brother

  • @Greaserville Sometimes this wonderful tune pops into my head in the car, when I'm drivin and I can't help but smile and enjoy it.

  • @billc756 You have described the spirit of Rockabilly to the hilt. Just to add a bit, as Carl Perkins' songs described, Rockabilly is that desire to be cool. As Carl sang, "Put you Cat Clothes on, because tonight we're going to Rock it Right!" AND, "After Five I Jive!"

  • Ahh.....this group makes me feel like I've just smoked a joint, taken a poop and eaten a big bowl of Froot Loops! Excellent!

  • Awesome!

  • great band that really loves and respects elvis.that always makes me smile r.l.s.

  • straycats make you smile even my 17 year old son likes this

  • I think they showed more that you could improvise but you gotta play kick ass rock n roll of sorts, kinda like early zeppelin. They improved but they did more medleys in a way and they played kick ass rock n roll mostly.

  • THE FUCKING BEST!

  • ストレイキャッツだいすきです!!

  • stray cats .... show how it should be done no improvisations just good old rock and roll when music used to rock the house !!brilliant!!

  • my mistake tomoyasu & poison tied # 2 stray cats # 3

  • respect to the japanese bands tied for #2 poison--& kyosuke himuro. but this is 1 of the GREASTEST R&R songs ever, thanks eddie cochran, we love & miss you

  • sorry cats revised # 1 eddie # 2 tied between those 2 jap groups # 3 stay cats # sid vicious

  • this version rocks 2nd to eddie respect to the 1st , 3rd sid vicious

  • this version blows off zepplen

  • @willieraye Led Zeppelin's version is much better.

  • @1970JimiHendrix

pls stop fighting we should fight together against shit like justin bieber or jonas brothers

  • @gretschbriansetzer

What we should do, is fight to stop idiots like you mentioning their names on other videos !

Btw did you actually realise you typed.. " pls stop fighting "..then you typed " we should fight together ..."

  • @QueenReigns1

i mean we should stop fighting each other because we all like the same music

  • @gretschbriansetzer Oh, I wasn't fighting. This is a good version of the song but I hardly think that it is better than Led Zeppelin's version. I agree with you.

  • Es gibt nicht viel besseres .........

  • are you kidding? this version kicks ASS!

  • The cats are the dogs bollox

  • I went to see Dave Edmunds at the Roseland Ballroom in 1983. Brian Setzer was brought out for the encores (which included this song). So I got to see Dave Edmunds AND Brian Setzer play at the same time.

Yeah, I wish I could go back in time to the 70s-80s too...

  • great version!!!!

notice the sticker on the gretsch looks like steve jones pin up girls.

  • yeah elvis is great ,too

just like chuck berry and eddy cochran

  • damn i wish i would have lived back in the godd old 80´s and 90´s

instead of now beeing a 16-year old nostalgic guitarboy loving all these stuff like beatles, aerosmith, stones, who and on and on and on ......

    haaaaaa good times good times

  • what about elvis lol

im in the same postitoon u r dude i love this old stuff

  • @Dman93Dman Good old 80s and 90s man u make me feel old

  • @Dman93Dman Dude This Music Is Timeless. The Rockabilly Revival Didn't Last Long But It Ushered In The "Austin TX. Music Movement". Stevie R.V, T-Birds, ZZ Top.Maybe You Can Travel To The Netherlands Or Europe Were There Still Is A Seen?

  • @LesPaulXXX

    rockabilly....the underdeveloped cousin of rock

  • @deadhardy no, the grandpa of rock, idiot

  • @Dman93Dman agreed mate I'm 15 I like old school Rock'n'Roll,Punk,Heavy Metal,Thrash Metal,Rock Glam and pop(sorry can't help it,it's just soo good) but some underground music is good too you know,HORNS!!!!!!!!

  • Gretsch 6120 with filtertron pick ups. It just does not get any better than that!

  • Fucken AAAAAAA i have a 6120 with the filtertrons but its Black-Id take a bullet to save that guitar!!!!!!!!

  • @scrappy5011, Abso-fucking-lutely! The Gretsch 6120 with filtertrons is the coolest electric guitar on the planet. I love that Aussie band The Living End. Great guitarist who uses Gretsch guitars. Ever heard of The Reverend Horton Heat? He wails on his own souped up Signature 6120. Great shockabilly. "The Great Gretsch Sound" says it all! G'day, mate!

  • I havent heard of The Reverend Horton Heat but Ill take a look for sure. The living end are from Melbourne-my home town-I actually live in the same area as Scott Owen-seriously,Ive seen him at the supermarket.Chris Cheney has always had that white Falcon-great guitar.

  • Yeah Man, There's a shitload of Reverend Horton Heat videos on YouTube. There's even one where he gives a quick lesson and there's also one where a Rockabilly guitarist tests a RHH Signature Gretsch 6120. Chris Cheney fucking rules. Love his style. I've been a big fan of Midnight Oil since 1982. Also, A great group called Ups and Downs. Australia has produced a lot of great bands. Always wanted to visit Australia and New Zealand. My Mom has some relatives in Perth whom none of us has ever met.

  • @scrappy5011 i would give you that bullet to get it :P

  • I've seen many of the great RnR bands- stones, who, etc. But the best show I've ever seen was the stray cats at a small theater in Hempstead, NY in the early 1980s. It was as if for one night i was transported back to the 50s to witness the birth of rock and roll.

  • Oh, God, I love these guys! \o/

  • How sexy is Brian Setzer?!!!

  • Awesome! I love the Stray Cats & they're Long Island boys to boot! Thanks for posting!

  • Not only was this an Eddie Cochran original, not only did Sid Vicous NOT write or do this song well, but, of all people, it was Brian Setzer of The Stray Cats himself who PLAYED Eddie Cochran in the film "La Bamba."

If there was going to be one person who could (and was chosen to!) reproduce this song the way it was meant to be done, it was Setzer...and The Stray Cats.

    End of story.

  • totally agree!

  • @Arkady63- Sir, you seriously understate your case. The Stray Cats WERE the rockabilly revival, and Brian Setzer was the reincarnation of Eddie Cochran. That was the point from the beginning. Dave Edmunds kept rockabilly alive for 20 years until he produced the Stray Cats. And their version of "Jeanie, Jeanie, Jeanie" is indistinguishable from the Eddie Cochran original. Setzer totally channeled Cochran.

  • @Arkady63

    You got that right.

So there was somebody who didn't think so?

  • @Arkady63 I agree But Sid Didn't want his version to be good, just like any other punk, he didn't care if it was good or not :)

  • @RUBYANDSHEENAHOLTON

yeah! and it was not good at all

    (but great)

  • @Arkady63 forget not the almighty led zeppelin.

  • kweg,you are a prick

  • you little piece of shit, you know fuck all about music, stupid fucker

  • Ahahahahahah wow. this song is clearly Eddie Cochran's aha. Who ever thinks this "belongs" to Sex Pistols or Sid needs to take some music appriciation classes.

    Ahaha Sex Pistols...ha
