@Xaq03 Including the choice to dehumanize yourself, I suppose. What makes humans human is a free and reasonable will, which almost all illegal substances, and some legal ones, inhibit, deform or outright destroy. But do what you want, I couldn't care less.
@newrev9er I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to explore parts of your mind that are not oftentimes reachable in an unaltered state of mind. That would be like saying the undertaking of a math problem dehumanizes us because it's not our "true natural state". I think it's part of our nature to want to experience more and whether that means religion or other substances, it is quite common in many cultures
@wonsuksong592 I don't think there's any correlation between math (or religion) and mind-altering substances. Mathematics engages what is unique in our minds, the ability to abstract and discern universal priniciples appart from specific instances. For that reason, it's a very natural state of the human mind, since we are naturally drawn to the discernment of patterns and principles. Something similar can be said of (good) theology, like what one finds in the works of Thomas Aquinas.
@wonsuksong592 If by exploring parts of your mind you mean essentially feeling new sensations, then I definitely wouldn't equate that with either math or religion (at least not theology or philosophy) for the above reasons. Is there anything wrong with using such substances? Well, that depends less on our judgment of the situation and more on the facts of our nature. Is it wrong for a creature that is quintessentially rational to suspend the faculties of his very rationality?
@newrev9er And again, while drugs are not necessary for use to use our imagination, some experiences like synesthesia or even hallucinations can unleash parts of our minds we learn to ignore or have never learned to use. You can see all sort of African, Asian, Native American, even European cultures use substances to experience something different (oftentimes with their religion). Drugs can be harmful to both our minds and our bodies, but the same can be said for cholesterol and vitamins.
@wonsuksong592 Just as an aside, I’ve had limited experience with tranquilizers and anesthetics of varying potency, in the context of a variety of medical procedures, so I’m not completely unfamiliar with their effects. I know that not all substances affect your mind in the same way, but I still think that you can live a happy and totally fulfilled human life without every having recourse to drugs of any kind.
@newrev9er The use of drugs doesn't mean you live in the state forever. The experience we have on drugs shouldn't be a constant state for use to live in, it just helps use explore. The Beatles did it along with their religious studies, I think it's just part of us trying to "find ourselves". With my limited experiences, I've explored my philosophies and how awesome music can be and it's improved my relationship with many friends. I think drugs can be dangerous, but in moderation can helpful.
@wonsuksong592 I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me. I'll admit I'm only adamantly opposed to drugs with demonstrated harmful effects, like coke and crystal meth. With specific regards to marjawana (however its spelt :/ ) I'm less convinced there's justifications for laws against its use or production, beside those I listed. I agree that drugs induce unique experiences. As for whether those experiences are sublime or fascille, we may have to agree to disagree for now :) Take care.
that is what we call perfection, that is what we call calmness and pacification, but honestly no words are need. thank you BT for what you're doing. keep up good work
For some reason I find most artists today don't understand the true voice of music. This album represents the opposite - You don't need lyrics and visuals to convey feeling... and although the DVD that comes with this album is spectacular, I've experienced a universe beyond my own listening to this with my eyes closed.
I wish artists today would listen to this album for some inspiration, so that all the popular music today wouldn't suck so much.
@Alvinacid Popular music has never been very good it is sad and for lack of a better word a majority of people are just stupid in many ways for not accepting all types of music for these "top 50s". People idolize artists who don't seem to deserve it and close their minds to other artists. I can't believe the crap that is considered good by many. The word popular will soon just be an insult.
I wish people today would listen to music like this, so the world wouldnt suck so much.
@Alvinacid But that is just the music most people listen to... If you go past the disguise music has taken that it now sucks you will find Younger Brother.. Phutureprimitive...Bluetech..Infected mushroom.. Shpongle.. Shulman ( If he is still at it I really dont know haha) There are many artists today who understand the true voice of music but ive gotta say I understand you thinking otherwise were up to our neck in shit music keep your head out of the shit and you'll find great music still :)

you can learn anything form watching people argue, you can also learn that deep down inside, we all share the same amazing taste is such soul touching music, why must we fight at each other, why not make this a time that we can all unite, and talk about our love of such amazing music.
We could bring this song with.. lets all go into the woods (colorado where we party) relax in a hut listen to this smoke some greens and realise that everyone here, is nothing more than a fluke in the system. and all of us together, is like an explosion of happyness only the ones above could imagine. i could also help build a rocketship, lets go!
Sometimes I like to fantasize that THIS is the type of music that is thrust to the forefront of everything...That this was "pop music" in a sense. I like to do this because that thought is trailed by a far more evocative ones...What is it like to live in that world surrounded by a version of the human race that holds this type of music to be most beautiful? What are they like? ...And... It stirs a deep longing not to feel so outnumbered anymore by all the people of the unfortunate here and now.
With compositions as great as this (and the rest of this binary universe) its a shame that the billboard is full of crap like Justin Bieber, Kesha, and lil wayne...
This is one of be best songs ever made; i listen to this every night trying to fall asleep and i tell you: this takes me farther than any other dream will take me. this is my song of the siren.

I'm proud to say that, while the rest of my generation stuffed their ears with rubbish. I was laying on my bed, entranced by BT. The best musician I know, and the only artist i respect that works without a brush or pencil.
Tbh, i don't agree with you, i love all types of music, rock, metal, death metal, rap, techno etc etc, but i also love this, but i can understand what you mean, these songs are truly amazing and beautiful.

that's a very appropriate suggestion for this awesome piece. this is one of the most reverential tracks ever made. so beautifully builds up and then pulses thru the tempo and then winds down again - i listen to it often at dawn, when all is dark and quiet.
perfectly put, this is what i would imagine playing if i flew out of this earthly realm. I can only dream! this is song makes me wish for something more..dah im not gonna ramble....this song is brilliant...
2053, their a zombie infestation, human try to survive for 300 years! All humans died and the only survivors were zombies, those zombies became human again.
When those zombies became human, they could'nt understand the new technologies. But, they understood someting, they were meant to be part of someting bigger. They became energy, soft energy, they earth ends and the story of his decay will be a mistery for the space adventurers when they will saw our old architecture and our past. love.pain
BT is such atmospheric music, whenever I listen to his stuff I always go off into other worlds, its unbelievable.
In a world dominated by shitty rap and cheap acts like the Jonas Brothers...It must be by the grace of god that we can still find refuge in real art like this.
@MatisTriden What I love about BT is that his ingenuity is felt by everyone who listens to his music. You get a sense that he is gifted, even if you knew nothing about his background. Your mind soars, your thoughts become light as air, and that's something I really appreciate.
@MatisTriden No kidding. BT helps me relax and aids me in regaining a good sense of creativity. Almost anything out there that's popular right now kills my brain cells.
I don't think "plain". I would rather see the world and life for what it really is then "want" (ignorance) to believe in something I know is incorrect.
Do you really only care about being right? or does it matter more to get along and be accepting of other human beings? I'm inclined to choose the former.
@MatisTriden I'm sick of the cheap shots at Jonas Bros. and Bieber. Those acts are aimed at 10-year-olds, what do you want?! BT is okay, but not real music. Real music is made on instruments, not laptops. By men that have lots of sex and do platefuls of drugs. With long hair. In leather and tight pants. Back when cars kicked ass and chicks put out.
@webslinger48 Your a fucking moron, I hope many people flame you hard. Real music involves complex emotions created by ideas conveyed in sounds that influence patterns in the brain. Justin Bieber in his entire career won't even scratch what BT has done here in ONE TRACK. The most emotional thing Justin Beaver can do is make some lovesick 12-year-old girl horny. There is no point explaining that to you though, as I'm re-reading your comment I can clearly see you have many mental deficiencies.
@FredWil89 You'd think that BT's music would encourage people to make love not war and smoke a bowl, but FredWil89 sounds way to angry for any of that. Chill out, my brother. My point was only how silly it is to criticize Bieber and his ilk...they are ephemeral pop stars but nothing more, and are destined to fade away along with Hanson, Ke$ha and the rest. But then again, I pretty much think that all music since 1990 is garbage anyways. There will never be another Zep, Queen, or Mac. RIP music.
@webslinger48 i think that is the most unintelligent thing i have ever heard. my IQ just dropped. haha
to back myself up, i am a drummer with a recording studio. I play all kinds of instruments, including: wine bottle, keys, clock, desk, rain, furnace, or 60cycle hum. I am working on an album that i can self produce since i do not play guitar or anything along those lines very well. i dont make enough money to buy leather pants, and my job wont allow me to grow my hair out as far as i know.
I love this song. Normally I don't really "get" the deeper meaning artists put behind their music or their paintings or their sculpture. This time, though, I really do get it. BT is a master at what he does.
@dallas2denton I don't get it... <_< But I want to, lawl.

Structure, decomposition, chaos, harmony.
As everything can be expressed in a mathematical equation, as such can it in binary. That's all we are really. A complex array of 1's and 0's.
It's apparent. BT poured his entire heart and soul into this project.

2053, their a zombie infestation, human try to survive for 300 years! All humans died and the only survivors were zombies, those zombies became human again.
When those zombies became human, they could'nt understand the new technologies. But, they understood someting, they were meant to be part of someting bigger. They became energy, soft energy, they earth ends and the story of his decay will be a mistery for the space adventurers when they will saw our old architecture and our past. love.pain

To quote Keyboard Magazine: In a hundred years, this album could well be studied as the first major electronic work of the new millennium.

Huh? I would have thought electronic music would have a very vast and popular collection.

For some reason I feel like this is the way music was meant to be. It's almost as if BT creates his music the same way God created the universe lol

CookieKing1 1 year ago 3
@MatisTriden if u truly understood music, you would not bash other style that other people like, because music is personal.
using words like shitty just before saying god also proves you are clueless about many things you pretend to know about.
Crimee 1 year ago
@MatisTriden No kidding. BT helps me relax and aids me in regaining a good sense of creativity. Almost anything out there that's popular right now kills my brain cells.

@MatisTriden There is no god, BT did this all with no help from your imaginary friends.

I don't think "plain". I would rather see the world and life for what it really is then "want" (ignorance) to believe in something I know is incorrect.
Enjoy your ignorance.
1992Raiden 1 year ago
@1992Raiden
I guess everyone thinks the other is ignorant. so in a way, we are all zealots of one kind or another, smug in our own superiority and knowledge.
one thing i know for sure, is there is a lot to learn and i know too little.

@Scriipto dude, let it go.
Do you really only care about being right? or does it matter more to get along and be accepting of other human beings? I'm inclined to choose the former.
We're all here to listen to beautiful music.

Back when cars kicked ass and chicks put out.
webslinger48 1 year ago
@webslinger48 Man I think you have alot to learn about talent and music in general.
zoomforever 1 year ago

RIP music.
webslinger48 1 year ago
