love the show, i've seen every episode. but it also perpetuates at least two negative stereotypes: 1.) firefighters aren't all badasses. courageous, hard-working and noble? yes. asshole, tough-guy bar brawlers? not at all. 2.) hockey is not nearly as popular as the show suggests. it ranks 4 or even 5 on the sports hierarchy among the vast majority of american sports fans.

White Sean has Kidney cancer! They are messing this whole series up man! Michael J. Fox is funnier than shit though. Sean and Franco remind me of 90% of our guys and tommy well he is the other 10% lol. I put my self in the Franco section, lol. I love this show. I have to say I was not sure about it when it first came out but it has grown on me! Thanks to the directors of this wonderful T.V. series, it is kind of a 9-11 tribute for the guys that were there. Every where you go reminds you!

No it is very possible! I know guys just like them. You have to remember that 90% of firemen are volunteers , and the other 10% are payed. It is a very easy job and does not take mush smart skills to put a fire out. When you get 12,000 guys working in such small area like NYC you are going to attract all walks of life and personality. FDNY has all kinds; barley high school graduates, guys with AS degrees all the way up to Masters degrees. They are the greatest guys you will ever meet! I love um!

it's quite the risk they're taking. the humor of rescue me works much like any other show. each character goes through small pieces of development that adds up more than a 5 min segment. the whole Sean apologizing to Laura for Franco's infidelity was hilarious because he would try like 4-5 times and keep screwing up. Why can't they string together one of those and make a 10 min minisode?
