Ah, 'this marketing the news' is why I'm seeing every reality celebrity from the northern hemisphere before I'm told about the latest news from Iran or Iraq. Some stupid girl with star tattoos, some flushed but cute puppy from the US. Forget Iran, tell me the latest on Madelaine McCann!

Do I need news on some stupid z-grade celebrity before the real stuff? No, actually, I don't!

News isn't meant to be 'entertaining'. It's suppose to impart facts that might impact on me.

Financial news channels are little more than news entertainment that is a vehicle for advertisers.  Newsmodels in short skirts keep the amateurs glued to the screens, feeding them what the professionals want them to hear.

I'm happy to cede a good deal of what I watch to Fora's staff, and though I will search for stories, I'm not encouraged by what I hear from these marketers. If they are going to catch eyeballs by not reporting, why try to fit in? Why not make the news by bringing about justice?
