He means the actual star wars movies. and I believe those (at least in the pre trilogy) were aluminum or steel. I only recall that because Hayden Christensen was constantly bending his blades because he hit so hard.

In the original trilogy the blades were made of carbon rods.

In The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones

they were made of steel rods.

In Revenge of the Sith they were made of

"fibertube" consisting of 3 layers of fiberglass, 3 layers of carbon fiber, and 1 of texalium.

Texalium is aluminum impregnated with glass.

well you can go to the hardware store and buy either aluminum/steel tubing... it isn't that expensive, but it bends a lot... ryan vs dorkman used alluminum

If you want to go with something more durable you could search online for carbonfiber tubes... they are nearly indestructable but cost about 40-60 dollars a piece....

Another option is to get pvc pipes for your blade... it can take a pretty good beating but they will break... they are quite inexpensive...
