  • 2:46 I'd see that if e3 Nxe3 and the f pawn is pinned to the queen but I would be stunned to see this from my opponent in blitz.

One thing I wonder of is, would it be winning to play e3 at 3:00 instead of Qh1+? In fact Rybka 4 gives 30. ...e3 to be the best move! about 3 times better than Qh1+ for a 13 points advantage. Wow, I surprise myself..!

  • @gentilguy Thx for your comment, this is a very interesting game from a tactical point of view. The question is how much of it was home preparation. I saw some comment in NIC about another Beliavsky game in this line which probably was part of Nakamuras home preparation, but cant remember exactly. They also wrote about Ra3 instead of Ra4 i think, have to recheck :-) Such tactical forceful positiones arent seek without deep research.

  • why didn't white pawn capture knight at 2:16?

  • @timothy51886 probably because of Qh4, and after h3 Bxh3. To avoid black being able to include the Bc8 into the attack white later played Ne6. Blacks Nxe4 was just to open diagonale to h4 for queen.

  • freakin wickeddd!

  • @gentilguy e4 and b5 are the star moves
