  • alright we need a some cobblestone, TNT, cannon blueprints, diamond armor, a airplane mod, and my grim reaper pistol with 14mm bullets explosive tip, mercury core and razor edged

  • Where gonna need a bigger boat...

  • @9Awesomepossumify Wer'e gonna need a bigger boat

  • oh this in minutor

  • what is this program thanks

  • I like this change as it makes the minecraft worlds seem more earth like. Ocean biomes were something that was missing from minecraft, if only there was more "stuff" in water.

  • @Nirreln Like the lost continent of atlantis or something.

  • I think that it forces you to use the Nether more. The in-game maps would virtually useless in the ocean; 2 minutes of travel by boat will fill up a map, yet you could be boating for an hour without seeing a continent. Compass won't help terribly much other than roughly estimating the direction of travel. Unless you build a lot of markers (tedious/costly in the ocean), it seems unlikely you can travel far and return accurately to a tiny island home without luck/cheating.

  • @Coestar These oceans are glitches caused by travelling through the nether, earlier today I spent around 30 minutes walking without encountering any large bodies of water.

  • @123456789Greendayftw You could have just been in a masive continent.

  • @natterboy I walked over 4000 blocks, I don't think so, I crossed a few lakes that may have split the islands, but honestly I think it's a glitch. Being a java coder myself I can see how this would happen.

  • @Coestar now what you will find that the size of the ocean is massive, but the main land biomes are like x5 larger then the ocean, once you find large amount of land, youl have a hard time finding ocean as ive found, i fillec 7 maps and still havnt found water since i hit my first bit of land (i have hit small pools and similar things, but no ocean)

  • @Coestar I think a really handy tool would be an in-game sextant item for legit coordinate calculations. It seems especially necessary to have one now that the oceans are more Earth-like, and navigation here in the real-world never really got good until its invention.

Of course the Minecraft world is flat and doesn't model itself orbiting around the Minecraft sun, so how it would actually work would have to be creative...

  • @dualscreenman double post much.... but good idea!

  • @Coestar Maps? Build a landmark at the end of the map, and start a new map.

  • @Coestar not that costly to make markers, all you got to do is make a 3 high cobblestone sticking from the ocean. With the cobblestone sticking from ocean, just place a sign on cobblestone, saying which way is which (example: Head this way to get to starting island. Head this way to get to main island/biggest island)

  • @Diamonddog421 actually it wouldnt just be 3 blocks sticking out of ocean... you have to consider the blocks you have to place from the bottom of the ocean to get to the surface so that you CAN place the 3 blocks above sea level. so unless ur prepared to do this....especially using cobble and signs. it doesnt make sense to waste the material or the time. (given ur in a situation like coe in the example portrayed in Coe's Quest "beyond the 1.8 Gate: Marooned in Blue"

  • @Coestar the further you get from your spawn the more ocean there is. this is for lag/ memory improvements.
