Nice! If you want your tofu to taste 'meatier', strain all the water out of the packet, cube it like the hippy gourmet did, put it in a ziplock bag then freeze it. Once you thaw it out, almost all the water will seep out leaving you a meatier looking 'tofurkey' type tofu. Peace :-)
I haven't had chayote since Costa Rica! This sounds delicious. I am gonna research about corn starch though. It doesn't seem healthy, but I wouldn't know.
also I thought these were vegan recipes, but I see you say some are vegetarian.
please tell me are those vegetable called chiote ? they look very much like the heart to me and that chakre centre is green , im sure that vegetable is going to help with the heart.!! i want some, but i am a UK resident. if you can show me how its pronounced i can maybe find it in the UK love and peace !
In our Organic Living TV with the Hippy Gourmet show, we don't feature vegan recipes exclusively. We have a great selection of vegetarian dishes as well. Occasionally, we will feature a sustainable fish recipe, especially if we travel to places where it is a staple diet.
he says sweet potatoes but that is huge is that a turnip and he calls it a sweet potato? is there an official list somewhere or is it go out and buy the book? either way looks amazing will try it thank you!
Thanks for your comment. Actually "Satay" is a word believed to have originated in Indonesia for meat and chicken skewers in Peanut sauce, but the word is commonly used in Thai recipes too.
I just wanted to mention, that "Satay" is mispelled.
The real word is Sauté.
To make the E with the accent:
1. Hold the Alt Key
2. On the Num Pad Press: 0233
3. Release the Alt Key
Saute is also acceptable.

fool. slap yourself in the face with your own hand for your gastronomic ignorance and attempt to be a smart ass and embarassing yourself with an idiotic comment
Was this tofu organically produced from sustainable sources? if not dont buy it, soya plantations are killing the rainforest just as much as palm oil!
ohhhh! .. I want some, and I want some now! Yum!

Quick question: Could I get away with not using honey? I know satays have sweetness to them...or should I substitute something else?

It's not "saute". It's satay. Satay is a peanut sauce.

i'd say to save money, because this would be insanely expensive, grow your own ingredients indoors in pots even !

insanely expensive? Are you kidding? A couple bucks is not insane to most people.

Chokos! Even Jamie Oliver didn't know wtf they were when he was interviewed on Australian TV.

Choyotes are found in some grocery stores, at least in California. They are a squash. I am sure you could use something else instead, like zucchini.
