I don't care about the integrity of book-to-movie 'transcriptions'. I love King's movie adaptations because they're so entertaining, in the same vein as 'Plan 9 from Outer Space'. I love the Tommyknockers - quite entertaining. His unintentionally funniest adaptations include 'Thinner', 'Pet Sematary', and Tommyknockers.
Th, I rather enjoyed the tv adaptation of Tommyknockers (for those who read the book, is a reference to ghosts of miners ((no spoilers there, ir's in the prefix)). Ok, it's no masterpiece, i'll give you that, but at least enjoyable for a quiet evening. as for the effects, it was made in 1993. I know there are some great examples for 1993 effects, but i think the "green" worked well. I'll agree, the aliens looked a little rubbish tho
This is precisely why reviews are worthless. A single opinion only expresses the same single perspective. No one will know if they will enjoy a book, or movie, or musical work, until they read it, or view it, or listen to it. It all comes down to personal preference.
Wow, Superdude, you seem to know much about Stephen King that has never been published or admitted to by him or anyone else. An occultist? Give me a break. He's an author...of fiction. Come off your horse, man.
@terry27usable are you really that dumb? I didn't say he was an occultist, I said he had an interest in the occult, that means he finds it interesting, researches it, and puts elements of it into his fiction....to make it interesting!
Seriously, get that horse off of you, because it's making you do stupid things.
Laughable stuff. Traci Lords kills people with a tube of lipstick that shoots a green death ray...
I would have hired David Cronenberg to just make two hour long Tommyknockers movie. He would have at least done something interesting with it... people turning into aliens and all.
All in all, Traci Lords is still HOT! But they could hace easily gotten Rebecca Demornay. They look somewhat alike, except Rebeccas a better actress. Then again at the time, Rebecca had a hit with "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle" and probably would of passed.
I would also not advise delving too deep into this type of research not having the power of the Holy Spirit inside of you which was given to you by the Lord Jesus Christ for your belief and faith in and on His name!!
To add to my earlier comment, Stephen King is better explained by the fact that he is an occultist who believes that all of his best works have come to him in dreams and that they were not his own. Stephen King is a plagiarist for the supernatural. Now be careful in your research people because there is a great many lies when referring to beings known as the "Nephilim" or "Rephaim" such as saying that they are aliens.
@SuperDude2569 what are you talking about? Stephen King does not believe his ideas come from dreams or something, according to all of his interviews and his own "note from the author" sections in his books. His religious beliefs are a little uh...weird I'll admit, but an occultist?
I watched it all the way through because I kinda liked Smits in Switch and I wanted to see Robert Carradine in something after Revenge of the Nerds, but that was utter garbage! I have to admit that I really kind of enjoyed the subplot where the kid magician makes his brother disapear but cannot make him reappear, but I cant help but think it was ripped off of something.
Really SuperDude2569? The Earth isn't even 25,000 years old??? Wow. You need to go back to school. Not only is the Earth older than 25,000 years, but it's older than a couple BILLION years. Your stupidity hurts us all.....
King can't do Sci-fi? What the hek was "IT"? This was basically a bit of a loose end (not completely) wrap up from IT. The spaceship in the ground that the story centers around has to be the ship that Pennywise came to Earth in. There is no ship in Derry! Supposedly the ship came there 25,000 years ago (although the Earth isn't even that old, this is fiction) and that would portray a hollywood prehistoria. Not to mention Pennywise popping up twice for no reason other than to hint at this.
i actually read the book for this one i liked it then i found out it was a movie tried to find it on dvd couldnt now i know that i shouldnt have watched it.

Hi, I haven't seen this movie, but I think Jimmy Smits is a good actor. Have you seen him in the tv series The Shield?

"When your biggest name is Traci Lords and you're not shooting a porno, you're in it even worse" epically funny...
