Firing Topper was a huge mistake, since losing the drummer has killed a lot of great bands, including Led Zeppelin and the Who. Bands think their individual members are replaceable, but they almost never are.

Answer to AshleyRox14. Topper get kicked out for just using drugs heavily at this moment,but they find Tory Crimes(born Terry Chimes,btw) for drumming on the first LP. Topper was back on album 2,but on This Is England lp Topper was out for good. He´s alive,but in a disappointed settle this days.

This was released some time before the Clash's debut album in UK, "The Clash", which featured the White Riot track from the same single, but not this song for some reason, probably because they wanted people to get more from purchasing the album.

This song was only included on this single, and later collections and stuff, like Super Black Market Clash and The Clash On Broadway (3 CD set box).

No offence, by the way, I just mean generally the very first stuff the clash put out isn't so easy for you guys to get hold of, I think Give 'em enough rope was the first abum they released there. You shold try and get the original version of the first album, some real good tracks on it like deny and jail guitar doors etc.

you can easily get any song by the clash nowadays in the US. the uk release of the clash's first album is readily available as well.

Some of the songs, I'll admit ain't quite my music, but i love songs like Junco Partner (the 101ers version is great too btw), Washington Bullets is amazing, and so is Police On My Back.

But come on, you've gotta admit, Cut the Crap is a sad chapter in the Clash's history.

I love the clash to death, but it's a fact.

The real clash consist of Topper, Mick, Joe and Paul. The Cut the Crap line-up just won't do.

No, they kicked him out cause the heroin, he didn't leave on his own accord. They said he could come back later, but they never asked him. They just replaced him and left him in the dust.

As far as I know, topper was the only heroin addict, and he couldn't control his own use.

I remember a story (he told) about how he couldn't untie his shoes because of this.

While I've seen clips where Mick and Joe are taking LSD, LSD and heroin are far from the same kind of drugs.

The main reason, I guess, is that Topper couldn't control his use.

Okay, Cut the Crap was, well, crap, but the album has one single saving grace: This is England is the last great Clash song and actually it's quite a good one. There is a reason it was the ONLY CTC song on The Essential Clash Album.

nah "Trash City" which came in the late 80's which was a Mick (with BAD at the time) and joe writing together was the last great song by the clash

CTC was Clash MkII really coz it was only Joe and Paul (who followed joe everywhere)
