If they do release ON TOUR, let's hope they do a better job than what they did with TTWII Special Edition. What a dissapointing flop that was. Though it had it's moments, overall I thought it stank on ice.
This Fall, Elvis on Tour is coming to DVD and dazzling Blu-ray high definition - for the first time ever. Featuring electric performances from Elvis' 1972 tour, this Golden Globe winning documentary captures the raw energy and excitement of Elvis' best live performances. In celebration of Elvis' 75th birthday year, a 17-film Ultimate Collector's Edition DVD box set is also planned, which will include ELVIS ON TOUR, VIVA LAS VEGAS, JAILHOUSE ROCK and more.
i thought it came out last year but i was mistaken.according to graceland turner who owns mgm is still deciding to release it either in its original format or in a special edition.i hope if they do a special edition they add extra footage and songs.leave in the origional songs, more elvis commentary, less commentary by fans and especially do away with the commentary by the old man at the hotel and the mayor on the plane.were they neccesary in the origional.get this out.include madison squaregarden
I know for a fact that Elvis would want us (the fans) to have Elvis On Tour and Elvis In Concert on DVD. It makes no sense that EPE would treat his fans like a bunch of babies! Release these titles now !!!!
I'm looking forward to a DVD of this someday too. I have heard that it was shot in rather poor quality 16mm, rather than the more standard 35mm for theatrical releases (eg.That's The Way It Is). This supposedly makes the film look rather bad on DVD standard definition and especially high-def such as blu-ray. I'm not an expert--this is just what I've heard. Surely here in the 21st century there are remastering techniques to make even 16mm source material look good? Anyone know?
I'd like to see Elvis On Tour released on DVD,and Elvis In Concert as well. I know that the estate ISNT planning on releasing "Concert"(In large part due to the fact that Elvis wasn't at his best in it)and yet by NOT releasing it,they are not only missing out on a tremendous amount of revenue but they are depriving the fans of an important part of his legacy. SO WHAT if Elvis didn't look his best near the end,do we love him less because of that or more? I doubt I'm the only one who says more.
We can buy this on VHS, but yes no DVD. Who the fI is warner bros. Thats right fans deserve better. But until EPE understand this, god bless the Jungle Room 76.
maybe they lost all the footage over the years to people who have stolen al the film that we are seeing on the black market now does anyone ever think of that? it took a lot of work to do thats the way it is so fix that so imagine the hell its gonna be for on tour. id be happy with an ontour release if they put the video out as the dvd release i dont need no special edition i just want on tour to complete my collection and elvis in concert as well
I heard that one of the reason why Elvis on Tour has not been offically released to DVD is because Tunrer wants to do the Elvis on Tour project with Warner Brothers, they want to do it with another studio company or something to that effect. I think to make sure they either get all of the On Tour footage and or make sure that the film restoration is clear and correct as well as audio.
C'était vraiment le plus bel homme du monde. quelle prestance, quel aura, il savait tout faire et bien. Et tellement d'humour. Un vrai capricorne.

PS: I think they should finally release the complete CBS tapes from 1977. Now THAT would make a helluva special edition!
