nice pics. hubby and I were lucky enough to be able to visit happy shahan's ranch in 1999. I hear that it is not longer open now. A guy at my husbands place of work tried to go by there and said they were no longer open. we had a great time there the day we went. I took tons of pics and video.
The last two photos are from the March, 1986 Sesquicentennial reenactments. I have some photos from back then that look just like those. Do I know you?
Howdy, @citationxbjfv -- Yes, you are correct in that portions of the mini-series, LONESOME DOVE. were indeed filmed at Alamo Village. Filming on the series was done in other parts of Texas also.
@kramcho i do my research,,and the san antonio de bejar and the alamo part was filmed in the alamo village,in brackettville texas,,near del rio, texas,,and the lone some dove town was filmed in a ranch near del rio,,i fund a web page all about lonesome dove town film location,,,
@kramcho check lonesome dove remembered on you tube and find out the real lonesome dove film location on a ranch near del rio texas and facing the rio bravo(rio grande) on the mexican border,,
I have been to Alamo Village many times through the years and have quite a collection of photos both on my PC and on transparencies. I used a program called Photo Story 3 for Windows that came with my old Dell PC, circa 2002, to do this video, including the sepia conversion.
You have 10 images in your video, and I was curious how you got images 2-8 -- because I shot those particular photos in 1989. I don't recall posting them on the Web.
Nice video though. I used Photo Story 3 for one I posted several months ago.
Great videoclip, thanks! His is the only movie to capture the Spirit of the Alamo properly.I'm not talking about historical accuracy here.Just the Spirit of the Alamo.
