  • Professionalization is the key good job body.

  • nicely done

  • that's right just like a pro beautiful job

  • Finally, somebody who knows what they are doing

  • Wrapping those tape on carbon bars is just making it heavier.

  • so how do you hold your bars while riding? what a wierd shape

  • what are those handlebars called?

  • @munoz217 "Drop bars", I believe. Or "Road bike bars", etc, etc. Ebay for about $5+

  • great vid, I'll watch it again when I do the bar tape on my Mercier.

Sadly I bought that Fizik microtex tape, hope it won't be to much trouble.

  • @MrZuffenhausen Im just about to wrap my mercier too :D dont have anything important to say, just fancied sharing :D

  • @Doodlebugyro Nice! Love the great spirit.

A friend gave me an old racing bike tonight (it's an Azzura, I'd never heard of it before), and lets say it will need a few hours of TLC, ...including replacing the bar tape.

  • Wow this helped me so much! Thanks.

  • Wow you guys really suck at grammar and spelling.

  • now his handlebar is two different colors... dumbass

  • HEEY !! Very nice tutorial i've been sitting with my tape for 45 minutes and couldent figure out how i made it, and whan i found this video i did it 1st time :D thanks a lot

  • excellent tutorial! this is the first time i've ever heard of the figure 8 idea and it worked beautifully.

  • Oops just realized this waz pt II..duh?

  • Great job! Left out part about using electrical tape to hold down the shifter/brake cables though.

  • Nice one - especially the figure 8 wrap around the brifters

  • he has the sam voice as eric northman from true blood

  • maan thats nice :D

  • Ideal bib length at 0:08

  • I have just finished my first ever bar wrapping, it looks perfect, largely thanks to this tutorial.

  • Thank you for your help it took me days to find normal explanation and your is the best :-)

  • I used tubes to wrap this exact pattern.

    Baller.

  • Fab thanks... was bit nervous of messing this up! Good tips and explanation. Amanda UK

  • Excellent turorial, very helpful! I finished my first wrapping ever right now and it looks perfect.

Yes, took me a lot of time, but that was no problem ;).

Thank you very much for the tutorial!

  • Can you add a video on how to replace break and derailur cables please?? Your videos are the best and I would love to learn more from you

  • Should have watched this before rewrapping my bars last night. If you have SRAM levers you need to be careful when doing your figure 8. There's a little nipple on the inside of the hood that goes into a little hole on the plastic part of the break lever. If you cover it up with the tape, your hoods will feel lumpy.

  • Awesome touch man! Tip to extra comfort, double or triple tape your bars, that`s what pros do for hard stages!

  • how long do I need for both side???

  • To Thedancingorangutan: The answer is very simple young jedi. Ask any woman wearing a tight skirt why she is wearing a thong underneath and the truth will be known.

  • Great vid - thanks for the help :]

Don't mean to troll but why do oyu bother to take the time to cut the end so precisely when you just wrap it up with electrical tape? Just wondering if theres some technical reason. Again, great vid thanks! :]

  • @Thedancingorangutan Because the bar tape is wider than the electrical tape, so if you didn't cut it, the electrical tape wouldn't cover the whole width of the end of the bar tape and it would look messy.

  • Awesome job! And, I need to get me some of that Cinelli Gel tape!

  • Just got my first road bike (after years on MTBs) and a priority was to get a better wrap on the bars. I used Ritchey Pro cork tape and using this tutorial got it pretty much bang-on first time. By far the best tutorial I've seen on the subject on YouTube. Thanks!

  • great explanation!!! I did a pretty nice job!!!

  • grips or bartape better?

  • Backwards

  • i just taped my bars hahaha my left bar looks better than the right omg IM NOOB

  • Very clear instruction, just hope I can replicate.

  • sweet!

  • So, do you wrap the opposite direction on the other side of the bar?

  • @thorpejsf yes

  • Very nice and helpful video!! Thanks a lot for this!!!

  • thanks for the video! Super helpful and easy to follow

  • Very helpful video! The tape looks like a giant fruit-by-the-foot! haha

  • Great video! Thank you!

  • Thanks! This was perfect. I just wrapped my handlebars for the first time and they look great!

  • Haha 00:32; "Now when we get to this paahrt"... I'm guessing your from Boston..

  • um, the color doesn't match the right side

  • Ugh I always mess up that last part. Excellent video.

  • thanks , that was very helpful video

  • nice video, very helpful!

  • nice job!!!

  • That red looks sooooo sexy!!!

  • Very nicely done. Gonna try this tomorrow.

  • Wrapping on the top of the bar (after the brake hood) is correct, but I always wrap the drops away form the bars not into the bars as is done here. Away from the bars on the drops is better as it stops the tape unravelling itself. Your hands will push out so the tape is more likely to unravel when done like it is shown here.

  • Nice detailed video! Only problem is, try that figure 8 with a Campy hood, and you'll never get the hood back over the brifter body! Shimano hoods are nice and forgiving, making for an easier tape job!

  • should be titled "the anal retentive guide to bar taping"

  • thanks guys. great camera work and explanations. that was a top looking taping job. i'm about to do mine and this was very helpful. cheers.

  • Excellent. Great description - thanks. Video quality is superb!

  • Perfect! I watched the video 3 times, then wrapped the handlebars first time! Good detail in the video - thanks!

  • Very, very nicely demonstrated! Thank you.

  • Really good professional video - finally learned the figure 8 around the hoods!! My bars look sweet.

  • Thank you for this instructional video! I love how you went over every minute detail as I'm a stickler for detail as well. :)

  • Finally!!! Thanks for showing the figure of 8 method of wrapping the bars! I hate using the crappy bit of tape supplied.
