@doomexpert I use the GlBoom/PrBoom Plus source ports (Google "prboom plus") to play back the original vanilla v1.9 Doom demo files.
This port has a function that allows the demo watcher to separate the camera viewpoint from the player character's location, and move it around independently.
@CyberdemonRevenant97 "Vanilla" refers to an old-school Doom or Doom II game as it comes out of the box: original DOS engine and files, or Doom 95. "v1.9" means the last official .wad versions released by id Software. I used the old DOS games years ago to record the gameplay (.lmp) files, and use GlBoomPlus nowadays to play them back for capturing with Fraps.
It's interesting how revenants don't hurt each other if they just plainly hit each other with cannons, but if they fight by the barrel bug, they hurt each other.
@doomdaniel95 Right, many monster projectiles won't hurt a monster of the same type, but "melee" attacks (punch/bite/scratch) are universally damaging.

I use Fraps (Google) to capture the output video as raw .avi files. For videos with multiple perspectives I use VirtualDub to assemble chunks of separate .avi files into a single file, and then upload...
hmm i didnt know that you can actually set a static position while play the demo. i would like to know how.

@ClassicDOOM know how to make a doom demo.lmp in 95?
CyberdemonRevenant97 7 months ago
@CyberdemonRevenant97 You'll need to be familiar with command-line parameters in Doom.
The Doom95 demo-record function doesn't work through its Windows interface.
Go to the ClassicDOOM com website, find the "DoomParm" document, and look up the "-record" parameter.
