On the subject of regenerative braking, does anyone happen to know if there is an esc available with regen braking or another way i can get regenerative braking to work and help charge the batteries? My other project is to try to use rc motors in my van to make it a semi hybrid, helping to charge a large battery bank during braking and idle and to aid the engine once i start to accelerate, any ideas would be appreciated, thanks

Can anyone help with this request? I am thinking of using rc motors to power an electric skateboard with trigger type tx. I am wondering what type of motors and esc are best for low speed high torque? I was thinking to go with a small pinion to a large spur gear screwed directly to the inside of the skateboards rear wheels, does anyone know if with this combo i could achieve between 5-20mph? The wheels are approx 4" diameter i don't know what the biggest available spur gear is?

@Lionspirit08 the one at 3:23 looks like an AX90016 Axial SCX10 as for the one at 2:56 i think it is an Ax90018 Axial Wraith Rock Racer but I'm not to sure about that! as for the customized part they may be that but you can get the truck and do your own customization but not cheap. hope this helps

my truck wasn't bought as a complete unit.. alot of it was manufactured by myself . and other parts we had made..like custom ss frames and so on.

the body was purchased from a toy store in California as i had a hard time locating that particular body here in Canada as it was discontinued by newbright.

What kind of motors do you usually use?

@LRGandMe It depends brother...Because this is a "TTC - or rather a Tough Truck Competition" these trucks are build all different ways by the owners. All of these trucks are custom, purpose built RC's. Some have Brushless, and some have Brushed. The secret to this type of event is finding a good balance of Torque vs Wheel Speed. Some run a Novak Rooster, or Goat ESC, some use Tekin FXR's or others. Brushed motors anywhere from 27t - 55t, and pinions around 12t - 18t. Hope that helps ~ Rock On!
