This was the best version of this band with Underwood. All of them were young and having a blast and they would swing it on stage as you can hear. Their later stuff seems a little stiff and tired to me. Just my opinion.
Thanks for these live recordings, I loved JMB!! However, these 1981 recordings sound as if the tone was lowered of a half step...maybe a tape playback problem?

@BanjoBoyMatteo producers change speed. "Kind of Blue" Miles Davis was sped-up, re-released as-performed speed.
