kfir in arabic is "non believer", Its related to the prophecy of Quran that the antichrist (dajjal) from Jews will bear the name kfir on forehead(may b on a cap) and start the war with muslims....ALLAHU AKBAR..
@nubbie1944 Next to nothing! You can buy a complete airframe for static use for just a few thousand pounds (£'s). There are many enthusiasts in the UK who have done just that, and have them on static display in their gardens and driveways! Strange but true:-)
The guy on the loudspeaker should have said it is the only airworthy privately owned and flown Harrier in the world. It most definitely is that:-)
when I went to Andrews the harrier had to cut short its demo Because it was getting a bwarning light for for #1 gear and landed with 70% on his front landing gear
I'd rather have a MiG-21. Cheaper and faster. The Harriers are not the most fun airplanes to fly. At least not at hover modes. He must have been a Harrier pilot. Or paid one handsomely to train him. You don't just get into a Harrier and hover away. Unless you like riding ejection seats.
He bougt it? As in its his? Like he can take it anywhere like a personal airport? I always wondered if people could do that with disarmed older jet fighters. Please reply, even if this may seem like a stupid question to you. thanks.
I went and the guy said that the pilot bought it from the British military from surplus and he fixed it up, put some old parts in etc. and made it working again. They also said the British gov't was pretty pissed about it afterword. You can buy old soviet jets and stuff if you want to and older jets like the Sabre if you have the money. Hope it helps!
Okay as I watched he kind of answered the question. So I guess it's his own Harrier. If he bought some land I wonder if he could just land it on his property. Or hover over califorina beaches like planes like to do(except they fly, not hover).
Yes. I bought it and imported it from the UK. Even though it was basically complete, it took us 3 yrs to go through the entire airplane, install an active ejection seat, and get it certified by the FAA. I can basically take it anywhere.
