I had the same confusion back in the '60s about this song title. I'm glad it's not just me! The Ventures did re-title some of their songs, but I this was just a mistake over at Sunset records with the re-issue of songs.

This is definately titled "A Go Go Dancer" ("kickstand" has the added bike effects at the start, but is the same tune). It was mistitled on the "Guitar Genius" compilation, which has led to much confusion.

@stupullen, you are exactly right. This is, indeed "A-Go-Go Dancer". "The Swingin' Creeper" was a jazz/fusion re-working of their 1964 album cut "The Creeper". The melody of "The Creeper" and "The Swingin' Creeper" were identical - just listen to both on the DOLTON recordings, not on bootlegs or spurious repackagings. This song ("A-Go-Go Dancer") was on the "Ventures A-Go-Go" album, and remixed on the other side of the same album as "Night Stick".

Weiss denn jemand noch, daß dieses Lied anfang der 70er mal Titelmelodie beim ZDF war? Und zwar bei einem Vorabend - Nachrichtenmagazin mamens "Ortszeit". Lief damals immer so gegen 17Uhr. Da hab ich damals das Lied kennen und lieben gelernt. Jetzt erst hier wiedergefunden. Vielen Dank fürs Hochladen. 5 Sterne

Sorry people. The original release was mislabeled which is what I have. This is The Swingin' Creeper. What I was calling The Swingin' Creeper IS A Go-Go Dancer. A lifetime of thinking the wrong thing...whew!
