I recently bought a sputnik i was using it with pro tools 10 and M-audio project mix i/0 I used it for couple of weeks and it sounded great. But recently when i try to record or just press record enable i get a nasty distortion sound I don't know if i ruined my tube mic? Any help will be appreciated. thanks
Omni sounds the best to me, at least with youtube compression, very open and natural. And I don't hear any background noises... Cardioid is a bit nasal, compared to omni, and 8 is something inbetween. But what is that ringing sound, when you switch patterns? Microphone body shouldn't resonate like that!
If i hear this MIC... and inmediately switch to the other videos you have with Newman TLM 49 and the Blue mouse, the other videos sound stronger.. is there any diference? Or you just put the volume up on the other videos?
hey i just got this mic for a real good deal.... i didnt know it was a 7 pin mic.... do they make xlr cables that go from 7 female to 3 male? or will i have to get a different midi interface?
its a breath of fresh air to see a video demonstration that actualy shows the quality of the equipment, some videos ive went on previously have crap audio that makes you wonder how they can claim there professionals when they clearly can't even master there own youtube videos ..... great video I'm either going for the sputnik or the luna 2 to use with a progect mix.. Have you got any suggestions which would be more suitable for rapping???
Thanks Mark. But wish you'd bring in a female singer to contrast your lows Preferably one playing an acoustic guitar. oh well, i'll click around maybe someone else thought of that
Thanks Mark , This mic has sounded one the best on your u tube videos . I will be on the look out for one of these in the future Thanks for the great presentation.

now i have a behringer b2 pro microphone, but i'm interested in the sputnik, do you think this microphone would be an improvement to my studio rather than the behringer?
@BuenayerbaVideos I have a B2 also, and yes. The B2 is a horrible sounding mic, I have other condensers, and basically anything is an upgrade from the B2.
I love my Sputnik. I use it for lots of VO work, singing, acoustic guitar and even some foley sounds. I don't line the screw that tightens the shock mount. It's hard to tighten, and slips a little. I see you have a larger handle on the screw that would be easier to get some leverage when tightening. Did you buy that separately? Mine is much smaller.

Only condenser in my house at the moment is a Røde NT1-A. Wouldn't mind playing about with this one by the sound of it though!

The shock mount screw is the one that came with the microphone.
This mic has a really 'bright' sound. Some like it and others don't. As always, it depends on the voice, room and the type of work you do.
If you use if for all of the above, I can see where the different patterns would be a real advantage.
Thanks for watching!
