Sometimes, I have to press (gently) my larynx down to get low notes (such as C2), but you lose overtones with that so I do not recommend it. But then again, I am not a bass singer neither a low voice.
Kids are great with vocal fry, I think that is commonly used to get distortion effect. In my opinion, men use distortion in high notes to hide the fact that they sound like girls... ;-)
The 5 hz to Soprano C was the funniest vocal thing I've ever heard. Sounds like a drum, and a mouse or creeky wheel. 5/5 for that alone. I think you have a good sense of humor, and from your other videos, I know that your voice normally sounds great (within modal registers). What is your voice type? Bass, Tenor or Baritone?
It sounds and looks like a vocal fry. You have to remember that some people can make louder and lower sounds than others. Also try keeping your mouth more closed and protruding your lips, it might darken the sound. And I'm no expert in this...
In this recording (june 07) I have a cheap PC mic really close to my mouth. And I have also adjusted the volume levels. Nowadays my vocal fry is somewhat louder...
vocal fry singing is what Anders Friden used to do, when he actually used clean vocals, and he was really good at it too. It sounded dark. Now he sounds like shit.
Theres no way in hell you could possibly hit 5hz. Why don't you look up the CURRENT Guinness record for it, in case you don't want to, its 8hz friend. Your programs lie...
Textbooks say that vocal fry for men is c. 1-70 Hz. I guess Guinness does not count vocal fry notes as real ones since the pitch is hard to define by ear - or whatever...I really don't care.
wow.. we did that when we were kids just to annoy my parents

I don't know, I just do it...

I am trying to learn both, then you could make 1 hell of a long scream if you practice the transitions.

Inhale is just so much easier

You got the point! Some people take this too seriously.
It seems that I'm a tenor with a low extension. Remains to be seen...

How do you know that you go down to 5 HZ or less? The human ear can't even pick up something even close to that low! Nice try though...

I know because 1) I use a spectrogram program and 2) I can count the individual "snaps" per second.
Just listen to the mp3-file in the video info or examine it yourself with the spectrogram...
