Collecting rain water isn't good/possible every where. If you collect ALL the water from EVERYBODY'S roof in certain parts of the country and use it only in your own house and some in the garden it dries the ground out, prevents run off to be evaporated to make rain, dries out groundwater reservoirs, streams/rivers etc. and causes compaction and sinking of the earth (Like in Holland for example). That's why there are (as should be) restrictions.

It looks great but i dont think its economically viable to build a high rise building just to grow food yet.

think about all the tourism a city would get if it were one of the first to build something awesome like that. Peopl go see the eiffle tower, and its just an uglypiece of steel. Imagine a beautiful strange shaped building filled with plants

@fatwadmcskylar Well id certainly like to see more effort put into beautifying towns and cities. I think every new house should be designed to collect water from rainfall and have its own rooftop garden. That would be pretty sweet.
