Isn't the word 'Russian' a very difficult word to define? Historically there have been Muslims, Orthodox Chrtistians, Europeans, Jews, Mongolians etc etc etc living in Russia and accepting a Russian identity, not to mention the Soviet identity that many Estonianians, Poles etc had to adopt? Russia is a diverse country with a diverse history.
I think generally good and bad is found in every person of every society. Finding the good in people is more beneficial than finding the bad.
