  • where do you get acapellas

  • When i press play nothing happens. Please help this is killing me.

  • @serp129 1. turn your speakers on 2. connect your loop player to sound out 3. ??????? 4. sound

  • @lllatomlll its nothing like that. ive even tried reinstalling the program .

  • i really enjoy this tutorial, but let me ask you something:

this software does the sync automatically, right? but what about the older tracks from the 80's and 70's (for example) that aren't timely correct? know what i mean? some tracks weren't produced with a digital process, nor with a computer software... so what about those? how does this software sync those up?

    thanks and keep up!

  • seek the problem i'm having is that when i make the acapella loops, i'm having trouble having them rap on beat, & if i do get them on beat, they're voice is really low & slow or either high pitched & fast

is there a way i can get them to rap on beat but with a regular voice?

  • Thanks for a great overview of this software - really got me off to a good start.

One thing I still dont understand is how do you get the vocals to sync up with the rest of the beat? I can't seem to get that part to work.

  • @LourceyPhotography the process is no different for the acapellas. just make sure you are cutting the samples to the appropriate bar length. try starting with short hooks and work your way up to longer verses. a lot of older samples (from the 90s) might be slightly off since the software used to create the tracks weren't as precise as it is now. remember you can use the phase to tweak the timing.

  • My samples are all the same bpm, but I don't know what bars they should be or what the bpm of the whole thing in AudioMulch needs to be. I set it to 315 like you said, but then when I make them multiples of 8 or 16 or 32, only one of them isn't too slow or fast...

  • @BriansOtherVideos BPM should resemble that of the actual source samples. I prefer to double the BPM and the bar length when I use Audiomulch, but it is not necessary. Your bar lengths should more than likely be in 4/4 making the lengths 8/16/32 like you pointed out. From here you can adjust your overall Audiomulch BPM so that the samples are playing in a reasonable pitch to your liking. It sounds like you cut the samples wrong if they are all the same BPM but are playing at different speeds.

  • Thanks man this was extremely helpful!

  • @lllatomlll ahh yes of course... great tip mate

  • how many bars in length should each sample be prior to insertion

  • @paralelSun I'm not sure what you're asking. What do you mean by prior to insertion?

  • Following what you have said in this video, but I can't get an acapella loop phased with the background song...I have the bars set to 16 for acapella and 128 for background song, which are the correct multiples...but the acapella is faster. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks. You can follow back on Twitter, same name as my youtube sn

  • hey i was wondering if you could torrent your samples, i can never seem to get them to match correctly

  • @DJPG12 hey..i think it's a great idea. i'm all for sharing, but i don't feel comfortable distributing the samples out. i have no problem trying to give someone instructions, but how the user gets to the end result is up to them. i wish the laws weren't as strict...sorry man.

  • why doesn't his meter thing go up?

  • @MrHowToMac when i press mute on one of the loops and then press it again for it to play the loop comes in at the spot it thinks it should be at instead of the beginning of the loop. why does it do this for me and not you?

  • when i try making a loop it says audiomulch doesnt recognize the file

  • make sure you are using .wav files.

  • thnx tht helps and also where do u get your beats and acapellas?

  • CD singles & searching on google.

  • @Stoddd337 convert all ur files to wav format

  • When i make the sample with audacity, then place it in audiomulch, audiomulch just plays the whole song even though i made the sample

  • I think it's an issue with the beta version of Audacity. Try a different version or different wav editor. Amadeus Pro is what I currently use. See previous comments as well for this same reported issue.

  • Hey I've got a question...how do you know what bars are compatible with what? I'm having a hard time making my clips match up. Or are there going to be clips that will just not match up right?

    Thanks a lot

  • Some samples can be more difficult than others, and some don't match up due to much different BPM. I determine the bar value by seeing what number comes closest to the original pitch. At that point I can tell what samples are compatible with each other.

  • or you could find the actual bpm using traditional means and enter the correct number of measures aka "bars". why are you adding a ridiculously fast tempo?

  • yeah i could find the actual bpm...but it's almost a moot point for Audiomulch since there is no pitch correction. If I have one song that is 140bpm and one that is 100bpm...I'll meet somewhere in the middle. Original BPM doesn't matter to me..I just try to not have the vocals sound like chipmunks or way low pitch.

8 bars at 300bpm = 4 bars at 150bpm. the numbers don't matter...just how it sounds matters to me!

it's just different ways to get to the same thing.

  • i think its audacity 1.3 beta , thats the problem i had, use 1.2.6

  • when i use audacity i do exactly what the video says and i listen to the clip and the loop flows and everything, then when i save it to desktop and open audiomulch and run the loop player it plays more than i have highlighted and my loop gets messed up help please!

  • @TomR0909 i have the same prob... so annoying

  • Yes I spoke with someone who had the same issue. Theret80--maybe it was you? I know the user changed versions of Audacity and it seemed to have resolved the issue. I'll also throw out a recommendation that I received awhile ago -- Amadeus Pro. I've been using it for months now and couldn't be happier.

  • I've got two samples running just like you were doing in the vid but my samples aren't looping smoothly.

Th files loop ok in audition so they are definately cut right but they just aren't looping.

  • If they loop seamlessly in audition but not in AM, then check to make sure the stretch checkbox is marked. Other than that...I'm not sure what could be the issue. PM me if you are still having problems.

  • Hi i'm using the a milli acapella with AM and it seems like it plays a half too slow compared to the instrumental. i'm using a different instrumental and i have the tempo at 315 and the a milli acapella is at 64 and the other samples sound just fine but the acapella is too slow, any tips?

  • I can only think of two possible suggestions...

    1. The a milli acapella sample is cut wrong. Adding silence to the end will speed it up, if you need it (i did not have to do this for a milli)

    2. Try to increase the phase to move the sample forward a little

What instrumental are you using? Send me a PM if you can't figure it out. I'll definitely help you out.

  • Super Video.

I don't do mashups but I've never knew about this method.

Audio Mulch is all about experimentation and this is one more thing I can try out.

  • thanks for putting up these toots as I've been looking into trying audio mulch - big help :-)

  • Fantastic set of tutorials! Keep up the good work!

  • right on man, i understand. i just can't stand the amount of people that are attempting to do the whole mashup thing now and create terrible sounding mixes.

I usually create my mashups for CDs in pro tools, you get the most control and accuracy over what you want to do using this DAW.

for live purposes, I recently started using ableton - taking the stems of my mixes (beats, acapellas, fillers etc.) and try them out with different tracks. It opens up the remix/mashup part to a whole other world

  • setting the tempo to 315 makes absolutely no sense at all. no songs are even tracked at 315 so why set the tempo to something not even possible?

my advice - use another software to compile the remixes/mashups such as ableton, pro tools, logic and use whatever you want for live purposes.

this audiomulch process takes so long and you are doubling your work.

stop trying to be girl talk and come up with something original

  • I mention in the video you can set the tempo at whatever you want, really. 315 is an arbitrary number. I can put the tempo at 120-140 and it would still do the same thing. don't get so caught up on the physical numbers.

Thank you for your advice. I will take that into consideration. Nothing is broke so why fix it? It takes me minutes to create these...are you saying I can do this in seconds with other tools?

I was mocking girl talk on purpose to prove the point that this is an easy task...

  • Thnx, these tutorials help a lot, very clear both visually and audibly.

  • Wow. I was pretty much doing this, except I put in some Audiomulch drums. The mai thing I want to be able to do is start a loop at a certain time, since it could continue at the start of any bar, when you hit unmute.

  • Agreed. I wish that would be a part of Audiomulch also.

  • The FilePlayer lets you play and loop sounds, but I don't think it goes with any kind of tempo.

  • Correct. What I would like to see is an individual bar counter for each sample so I can see when it will start on 1 again.

  • you should check out the "i am the mighty jungulator" software it does what your sort of asking for, only 6 loops at the same time and it doesn't look anywhere near as nice AM does now, but it wasn't exactly pretty a few years ago....

  • Thanks for the tutorials!
