I actually asked my sensei Yuka about this since it was hard to understand for me too at first. She explains though that が put emphasis on the word BEFORE が, where as は on the one after.
So basicly this means that if you compare something like:
昔な友達がパーティに来るよ! = AN OLD FRIEND is coming to the party!
昔な友達はパーティに来るよ! = An old friend is COMING TO THE PARTY!
This removed the confusion I had about it prior to this :)
Hey guys and sorry for the mistake, although I only made this comment to explain what my teacher actually said about "ga" and "wa". No hard feelings because if that it was more of something that I used as an example ;)
very awesome lesson =D quick question, would it be ok to leave out the particles like Ha sometimes? would that be considered like a kinda slangish way of speaking or just straight up improper grammar?
Hehe I see, didn't seem impossible just never heard of the form before :) Thanks! I guess it's the same form that originates from phraces like: 何々するの が 好き、洗うの を 手伝う など。 Just different particles after the phrace I guess, right? :) You look like a native speaker so I trust your wisdom fully :P
i dunno just the way you want them to not speak so loud etc, just doesn't seem completely relaxed with the control. If people are interested to learn from you stuff like that shouldn't matter
Oh, I like yelling at them in front of the camera. It's a joke. I get along very well with most all my students and have known these 2 for 12 years (Tomoko) and about 6 years (Miho). We are just goofing around.
but we could hear they where saying eigo, and not egoi + most people i would think new that one. and more details is what the description is for=P dont get me wrong, i appreciate that you go trough the trouble to reupload to fix your mistakes. im just saying.. it shouldn't be worth your time=P
Haha I like when Tomoke is on, she's fun/funny =P

@Gimmeaflakeman no, wa, ga and others are all punctuation. I don't know the precise meanings, but that's why.

Wouldn't that translate into: Despite riding bikes, I have an interest in (it)? :
Don't think that I'm saying it's true. I'm just a little confused about the japanese itself hehe :D 互いに手伝いましょう!;D

"noni" has another meaning of "to; for; in order to" when it comes after a dictionary form verb.
e.g.
火をおこすのにマッチが必要 I need a match to start a fire.
料理をするのに水が必要だ Water is needed for cooking.

Wow, that sucks, so interesting is omoshiroi, and interested in kyoumi? Can you use omoshiroi here as well, or it has to be kyoumi?
chimera15 2 years ago
Not interchangeable.
It is just like English.
That is interesting. = Sore wa omoshiroi.
I'm interested in that. = Sore ni kyoumi ga aru.

iFukuyama 2 years ago
I added 2 notes. And fixed the EIGO typo.
Eigoi was on the last video. Eigoi is nothing. Eigo is English.
Also added notes about how to use MATTAKU.
Sorry for the typos! But since these vids get lots of repeat views and only about 300 people had seen the last one I thought I had better reupload it.
Gimmeaflakeman 2 years ago
And I privatized the last one so as to not confuse people.
