Hi, if you go to their website you can download a free version that has a small logo in the corner. it has the same functions as the normal one but you get the logo. (I just keep all of my 3D work away from it and cut out the logo and place the original video). :)

Hey mattsmad: thanx for the advice. Does this mean that the download free version is not a trial? Can you model faces and do facial animation in houdini (free version) too?

Hello jodeci605, Its not a trial its the real thing but with a logo. Yes you can do everything 3d wise, model faces, rigging and lots more, but I haven't used it in ages. I took it of my computer because it uses up sugar loads of memory on my computer.

The interface is very similar to shake 4.1... I think I can pickup Houdini too but I think I'll need a powerful mac pro

houdini is multi-threaded 64 bit. Youll be SUPRISED how well it runs on an imac or macbook pro. Its FAST!
