  • Grap Luva actually sampled that at 4:52

  • to me hip hop is all in the sample...its the recreation of something old. how creative you are is based on how well you chop up that sample. Rock does it the best. well dilla then rock!

  • pete rock nigdy nie szedł na łatwizne

  • theres something about a pete rock beat that just sounds so clean. the drums are so clear, the snare is loud, and the way the kicks hit the basslines is absolutely nasty. he has like the absolute perfect mixes

  • @CCooke3 TRUTH!! The crazy thing is how he'll have samples from multiple records and have them all sounding like they belong together, a lot of times even in the same key! And I don't think anyone freaks basslines better than him. the closest one is MAYBE, Dilla.

  • @oskamadison word man, he always samples completely different sounds and they come together so nicely, he utilizes way more samples in one track than other producers

  • The Dave Crusin's "Modija" sample from 2:24 to 2:30 was used in Foreign Beggars's "Flowin" :)

  • Where does he get the sub for the first beat though? You cant just layer any out of key sub. How does he get it perfect!

  • the song @ 4:10 was also used as a sample for bobby ross all i no..

  • oh snap that "David Grusin" sample 9th wonder used too for cesar comanche's "Land of Hate" Pete got that DAS EFX SHIT OFFF MY G*D! and THAT RAEKWON JOINT! hence why the brother is #2 on my producer list. along side with madlib. • just so ya know Grap Luva sampled that Joe Pass joint... If I rememer correctly he said Pete only changed up the drum sounds... not the pattern tho... for those who dont know Grap Luva is the producer of INI's "Step Up"... and he's also Pete Rock's brother. this info came from Grap himself... watch his video with Damu the Fudgemunk... he explains it all... its a real dope vid!!!!
