  • I heard this song on a Carl Sagan video about a pale blue dot and it was pretty good I don't like how he didn't mention anything about the aliens having a moon base on the dark side of the moon bases the aliens are building and that is important stuff! Wake up SHEEPle lol! Baah baah baah that's what all you say but what I'm saying come on sheep need a shepherd to tell them the dangers lol! I wonder why the aliens don't contact us i'm no carl sagan but i bet it's because they're up to no good!

  • mogwai have the best song and album titles

  • sounds like if you were to witness the birth of a star somewhere far away in the universe

    does that make sense ?

  • @townshipps

Holy hell. That's the greatest description ever. I can picture exactly what you mean.

  • A mote of dust... suspended on a sunbeam.

  • When you're having a sad day, this song makes it sadder.

If you're having a great day, this song makes it brighter.

  • Mogwai is always on some spaceship sounding shit...which I like lol

  • If i have my own spaceship one day, i will play this song while "sailing" in the space. This will be on top of the playlist when i watch the world from the space when i have the first coffee break, i mean it.

  • Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky are probably the best in terms of capturing this kind of emotion.

  • @jonny5dicky Also the bands "Mum," "Apparat," "Album Leaf," "The American Dollar" and Helios. There are some more but at the moment they aren't coming to mind.

  • @CrackersCrackEasily

    Eluvium would be another

  • @jonny5dicky Any more songs like this in pacticular. I find this song very similar to the ones of Sigur Ros.

  • Comment removed

  • @jonny5dicky god is an astronaut is also a good one

  • This is....amazing.

  • @DynamiteDic 0:01 - 4:59 ... THE best moment in all of music.

  • easy button

  • I love this song. Its so full of emotion and feeling. The thing thats wonderful about wordless music is that it can mean something different for everybody. For me, it kicks up a strong sense of nostalgia.

  • omfg... honestly, i don't know if it gets any better than you guys with the "AMBIENT" music

  • Well, i wasn't expecting this..

    It's beautiful..

  • feels like standing infront of a storm alone

wow i think im in love.

  • What other artists generate the sort of emotion as mogwai? I could really use music like this.

  • @mynameispolak Well, there's this English band called Working for a Nuclear Free City, if you don't know of them already. They aren't Post-Rock, they're a blend of Shoegaze, Electronica, Ambient, and Dream Pop. Highly recommend 'em. They're, in my opinion, just as beautiful sounding as Mogwai.

  • @mynameispolak Working for a Nuclear Free City, they're an English band. Check 'em out.

  • @mynameispolak An instrumental band called 'maybeshewill' , look them up, they are exeptional. :)

  • @mynameispolak sigur ros. they are from iceland and they create beautiful, amazing music

  • im looking for a song that sounds similar to the intro

  • im baked and this is .... crazy. i like it.

  • im fly in north korean death camp

  • To know you must can. Without can, know doesen't. Without know can cannot. -Miguel Roces.

  • Carl Sagan please back!

  • Life is like a ride at a amusement park, it goes up and down, around and around, it have thrills and chills, its brighty colored and loud its very fun for awhile. some been on the ride longer and question is this real or is this just a ride. some come back and tells us hey don't worry don't cry because. . . this is just a ride =] - Bill hicks

  • This is the best type of music to write to.

  • I now finally understand the meaning of life.

  • Mogwai are part of the very few bands that can lift the human spirit and heal

    sadness....thanx for the video, it's beautiful :):):):):)

  • Thank you, I was having a sad day but this video really lifted me up.

  • why is everyone mentioning carl sagan? i adore him and know plenty about him but can someone help me explain the correlation?

  • @soccerlovesit Someone set him giving his speech of 'Pale Blue Dot' with this as background music.

That, and Sagan is relevant for all situations.

  • @soccerlovesit

No correlation, it's just that the most voted post mentions the pale blue dot thing, which Sagan extensively commented.

  • @soccerlovesit somebody used this song as a background song to carl sagans speech, the pale blue dot.

so im assuming carl lovers. are here talking about carl :D

  • the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

  • I miss carl sagan

  • Evolution is just a theory :D

  • @malblogia Actually, the theory of Evolution is fact, sounds like an oxymoron but Theory means something different to Scientists that it does when looked at with the general usage of the word.

  • @evanescencerawks Well said friend, not to many people understand the difference

  • @malblogia

A theory is more reliable than a bad fairytale. Way more.

  • @teniootti al theorys were fairytales until they got proven.

  • @pedropuzzi not true, a theory is based on facts, like an educated guess. much love

  • It's funny how there's way more emotion in this than in "emo" music.

  • 2:11 Damn, thats a sexy little cloud.

  • I grip my hands tight and wisper to myself

I am going to do it...

  • 'happy songs for happy people' ,anyone else clicked that? :)

  • @MrProset Ohyeah.

  • am i the only one whos not high

  • @coffer97 No man your not the only high one, but Mogwai creates their own musical high. All their stuff is enchanting... and yes i shall be getting high soon enough but the joy of Mogwai does not recuire it =D

  • this song fucks me up

  • Thumbs up if the master carl sagan brought you here!

  • love

  • I bet you all 1 bottle of root beer that if the stars and the northern lights could sing, it would sound like this.

  • @thebich2man5421

    +1 beer for me

  • @ytrewQwerty damn. oh well. I can easily walk across my street and buy a new one.

  • ambient guitar reigns supreme, nice vid

  • the bbc sessions version of this is also great

  • @ericambrosecoon I agree - I think I prefer it too, but they're different enough to be appreciated on their own merits.

  • i wanna go to scotland, iceland !

  • i can picture everything moving in slow motion to this. beautiful

  • Probably the most evocative piece of music ever I've ever listened to. Very difficult to hear it again after all these years, but absolutely awe inspiring nonetheless.

  • Wow

  • Credo sia una delle più belle canzoni dei Mogwai, se chiudo gli occhi mi sento male!

  • I loved How u switched it to the space pictures as soon as it got loud Made me really open my eyes :)

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful. I really need to try running with this song rolling through my ears on a misty sunny morning morning.

  • Carl Sagan.

  • Gets better every time I hear it.

  • Stop coming to my house...without drugs

  • Love this song! Thumbs up & favorite.

  • I wonder what percentage of mogway´s fans are girls. I´m a girl and love this, but i gotta say it makes me not wanna do anything. If i was listening to this in the morning, my legs would immediately turn into jello and everything but lying down in reverie would become impossible.

  • @anamagdalena28 I feel you...

  • @anamagdalena28

me too...the song makes the world stop.

  • sigur ros is my jam. best song is staralfur or olsen olsen

  • absolutely moving

  • very strange a song with no lyrics can speak so loudly. love it

  • One of the best tunes you'll ever hear. God bless them.

  • Can anyone recommend very similar tracks to this? I guess maybe stuff from movie soundtracks? Thanks.

  • @SambOtronik Sigur Ros, Hans Zimmerman, Mike Oldfield. They all have many tracks like this.

  • @SambOtronik you should try Caspian - Moksha. Great song!

  • @SambOtronik

Check out: "The Flashbulb", "Lights Out Asia", "Hammock", "port-royal", "Ruxpin", "múm", "Helios", "The American Dollar", "Applescal", "The Album Leaf", "Epic45", "July Skies", "Apparat", "Lemongrass", but I could go on for pages, really.

  • @SambOtronik Mogwai has many great songs like this one. One of my favorites is "Hunted By A Freak" which I would say is similar, although it is a bit more menacing sounding. You can always tell when it's Mogwai. The first time I heard this song, it was on the radio on a poor quality sound system in an old motor home. I knew instantly it was Mogwai! It made my night.

  • @ChuckBuffalo that's my favorite by them. It's from a different planet.

  • The only home, we have ever known, the pale blue dot.

  • @Shreddville there is perhaps no better example of the folly of human conceits, then this image of our tiny world thus revealed.

  • @Shreddville ahhhhwwwww Yeaaaaa:) *Öm*

  • @Shreddville You saw the Pale Blue dot video before this =)

  • @Shreddville r.i.p Carl Sagan

  • what is the point of watching this in HD?

  • @Main1215 Higher sound quality

  • this is a song that provokes thought. "modern music" ("mainstream") is the exact oppposite

  • This got me through being left. All the confusion and heartache. It made me feel better. Went so far down, I could only go up.

    Gets me every time.

Don't think it will ever lose its emotion.

I'm actually trying to make a short animation for this track

  • This is your life,Good to the last drop, and it's ending, one minute at a time.

  • Absolutely amazing. cathartic!

  • I'm free..

  • photoshop does not detract this tune, i have been blessed

  • eggsellent smithers

  • Awesome video. this is the last song on my Mogwai mix.

  • Amazing !!!

  • it would be great if you could make some more Mogwai videos just like this. nothing but pictures

  • I like the title

  • makes my blod freeze.

    STUNNING ;D

    <3.

  • you dont have to listen to them. they are sneaksy and subversive and make it seem very good to harmonize with them. be careful and stay grounded, because truth is everywhere, not in some far away place.

  • what do you mean?

  • wtf are you even talking about? you crackhead.

  • its quite evident that much, if not most, of mogwai's songs are effecting it's listeners on a deeply emotional level, and that, my friends, is enough for me to stop a say, thank you mogwai, thank you for letting us feel again. your music is the catalyst to LOVE!

breath in the heaving love of the universe.

  • Personally, these post-rock crescendos don't get much more effective or overwhelming than this. It reminds me in a slightly harsh, yet warming fashion, my father's passing and the weird series of events that happened afterward. The song itself is exhausting, yet I feel so happy when it's over. It might be one of the few pieces of media that hits me as truly some confirmation to the joy of life. Sorry, that sounds pretentious as hell.

    Probably my favorite song.

  • chaos

    confusion

    despair

  • it's crazy....amongst all of the chaos there is music...i can't stop listening

  • sometimes theres no need for words, just the music itself is what makes this so hauntingly beautiful.

  • i havent found a mogwai song that doesnt give me goosebumbs..

  • Satan fears Mogwai. They are the saviour of music.. Mogwai gave it's minor 6ths that the rest of us may live. Thine is the post-rock, forever and ever.

  • GREAT!!!

  • Are you a Christian?

  • No, I'm a Mogwaiian. It's somewhere between a Hawaiian, a gremlin and a post-rocker.

  • Fair enough like, each to their own innit?

  • amen to that

  • Great song...First heard it on the We are Here: The Pale Blue Dot vid. Both went suprisingly well together.

  • thats a truly beautiful video

  • it kinda trips...awesome!!!

  • this song is HAUNTING...

i just dont like the violent crashing 2:20 onwards

  • To me, that is te time when the music begins...

  • This video makes me so happy, it's kinda odd, yet nice.
