I wonder what's worse, being put up for adoption or having your mother die when you're 17 months old? I wish so much I could have known my birth mom but God needed her more. I've finally realized that my life may not have been as good as it is now if my mom had lived. God took her away but he gave me the best foster parents in the world. I pray that everyone looking for their birth mother finds them.
I would tell her to try Search Angels. I had a teenaged daughter that got pregnant at 17. I found out she had gone to a friend's house to discuss alternatives. I confronted her and told her that abortion was out.
She said she was considering adoption. I told her that if she did, we would be the ones who adopted the baby, that the baby would NOT leave the family. (I buried a son and a grandson only two years before.)
Before he was born, she decided to keep him for herself.

Back in '64 I kept mine even though others wanted me to give him up, so glad of my decision, he's a fine man now and knows who he is, best of all is for me, I know him, who he turned out to be, and he loves me, too.

If you resent your birth parents maybe you need to think of WHY they made the decisions they made and it probably has more to do with how much they truly love you than anything and if you are so resntful maybe you need to seek counseling to work through your anger. I have never met a mom that gave her child up to hurt the child -- just the opposite they want the child to have a better life than what they can offer at the time.
