I lace into a waist training corset almost every day. I love the support it provides but, more importantly, I enjoy having my male torso transformed into a curvy, feminine shape. I "cross dress" but in a discrete way ( feminine tops, jeans, low heels) but at home I enjoy wearing skirts, dresses and heels. Anyone object to this?

Wow some of these people are such haters im a guy and i wear a corset frequently. Just because you don't understand doesn't mean you should open your mouth to reveal how stupid, ignorant, and narrow minded you are. I feel embarrased for you!
@XXDrknssoXX Maybe it's because they think it doesn't fit him well? I like corsets because they look nice on people. It doesn't look good on this guy.
I think it's great really victorian and feminin; but not worth the trouble of putting it on and taking it off and giving me a body I REALLY DON'T HAVE and on top of that being uncomfortable in it all!
His wife looks lovely, but my goodness, he looks ridiculous. He doesn't even have a waist! It's just one complete sphere of fat resting on top of another D:
I have an idea, but I just want to know what will happen to me if I act on it. If I wear my corset, and tighten it a little everyday--but not so that I look like the woman in the clip, will it give me that hourglass-like shape and reduce the appearance of my love handles(slthough they aren't that much).
@Sanana135 I bet what you're thinking of is corset training. It's sort of like gauging your ears except you're trying to make your waist smaller XP. If you want to achieve the hourglass shape you would have to start off not so tight. Wear a corset that fits you just right and lace it to your own comfort. Just gradually make it tighter every day but if you feel uncomfortable dont overdue it :P
on this time maybe not but look at the "dandy"-fashion. this look was not possible without a corset! some military personnel wore it too because of the straighted up figure.
ahhh i love men whose body achieve a lovely shape by corset, so nice and elegant...
I hate it when men see me wearing my corset and they automatically think I'm some kind of fetishist, that I also wear latex bodysuits and like BDSM stuff... I just wear it because it gives me a nice shape...
I love the way this video is non gender stereotypical! :D That made me smile, however. I didn't like how that made it out to be a weird fetish. Whilst I think corsets are very sexy and I could possible have a fetish >_> It's not all like that. I think corsets are not just about the sex appeal, they're about the culture behind them! I love the Victorian era and the corset just represents that like no tomorrow. Damn corset, we luurrv you <3
@orkan84: there's a bit of irony in someone who's ideology favors rigid patterns of thinking, asking others to give him the very freedom he speaks against.
Also, when you ask "what is wrong with X," people who think there's something wrong with X will tell you what they think it is. For you to then insist they stop promoting their ideas is incredibly dishonest, when all they've done is answer the question you asked.
... so what's the point in a GUY having an hourglass figure? Girls do it because it's seen as attractive to males. I'm pretty sure I've never been attracted to a guy with big boobs and wide hips
......risk damage to organs through low oxygen but not crushing and this is only a problem with certain styles of corsets (conical), bad tightlacing practises, bad corsets or lacing too tightly too fast
But done correctly they are perfectly safe and you can still lead an active life while wearing one
@waningbutterfly I agree fully. I have a corset but I would never ever wear one as tight as shown. Just like most of the examples in the video, they may be seen as attractive but can cause long term damage. Attraction should not cause such extremes, it's bad enough some girls feel they need to starve themselves to be 'perfect'. I know a lot of girls who talk about how much they hate their bodies, and my friend says she starves herself when she feels fat. I personally love being curvy.
Even tightlacing isn't particularly damaging. Your organs are designed to rearrange and move around, take during pregnancy for an example.
With a properly made corset (one that won't cave in over the abdomen ) the only real danger is decreased lung capacity as if the lower ribs are compressed and reshaped the lower lobes become immobilised and can fill with mucus and are susceptible to infection or if your in the 19th century be risking consumption.
@orkan84 And you're promoting the right to be intolerant and close-minded. I'm not going to even waste my time with you, as you are clearly on a different realm than I am with this.
@orkan84 You're saying I'm bigoted for calling out on someone else's bigotry. My comment was a reply to someone who says that corsets should not be worn by males, and that according to him it's disgusting that a male would wear them.
I am promoting tolerance and open-mindedness. You, on the other hand, think prejudiced behavior should be accepted for what it is, whereas I disagree.
Corseting has such a bad name because the media only shows people who overdo it. A little corseting will give you a much sexier, curvier figure and make your boobs look bigger. It's basically thousands of dollars of plastic surgery in something you lace up every so often.
But then there are those that want to, like, have an inch-thin waist. It looks stupid, garish, and feeds the media trolls.
lol ummmmmm creepy? I just bought a corset and its safe to wear if you dont wear them for too long or make them too tight. I think they're beautiful, but I wont wear it everyday!
lthough i love the fact that even men wear corsets and i think it looks great,i still have the right to feel disguisted by a fat, hairy moron-looking man,who is wearing a corset.

@SoshiLoveable Some corsetiers say it helps you lose weight because of the pressure put on your stomach -- you don't really get hungry. Does that count?
i have an extremely short torso (because i'm disabled) and I have no curves what so ever. my hips are tiny. so i have no waist line what so ever. i'm so tempted to buy a corset to give me more of an hourglass figure.
This type of corset wearing is only one type of corsetry, not all corsets were made to do that to your body, there are many corsets out there that you can wear in a healthy manner
Its stuff like this that gives corsets a bad name. Corsets are beautiful and can be worn safely without causing any disfigurement to the body. The show treats corsetry like some kind of freaky perverted fetish.
I loved the woman's figure from what I could see of it, but the man looked quite odd. He would have looked much better had he been up a few inches. And go Plague Rats! :D
but a true corset was designed to suck them in that far...an eleven and a half inch waist was common and so was fainting from lack of oxygen because the corsets were fastened so tightly....thats why no victorian parlor was complete without a fainting couch
@Vampkiki An eleven and a half inch waist was unheard of. The smallest waist on record was 13 inches on Ethel Granger and that's debatable. I've studied 40+ corsets in museum collections, and I can tell you that fully laced, most of them are between 22 and 26 inches. Bodies were smaller decades ago, it's not like that's an unhealthy reduction. It's true there were always tightlacers who wanted a smaller cinch, but it was NOT the norm.
@baaadbutton I have collected many antique dresses that I myself then wore; and at the age of 19 had that size waist, 20" hips, was a mere 98 pounds with a hieght of 5' 10" tall. But that is from my experience with antique clothing that they had much smaller sizes back then...and from my anthropology experience...their overall weights and measurements were alot smaller then the average modern woman...
in this one yes, but during the regency era, men (all of them) weared corsets. That's what makes Mr Darcy and all the austenian men so handsome. But they were men corsets, quite different from the women's and not ludicrous like the one this man in the video is wearing.
I personally wouldn't consider a 38-38-38 figure very beautiful, but you're right in a way because 11" is just way too tiny. 22" is perfect, in my point of view.
@Marllon Then how about your wife/fiancee/girlfriend or even daughter would be working in eg. coal mine? Would that make you happy? I'm not sexist, but there really are things that only one of gender should do.
@wonsPOLAND Your comment doesn't apply to me. I am not attracted females. However, I would be displeased if my boyfriend went work as a miner, but if some random guy or broad want to work in a coal mine, then so be it. To each their own. And, no, people shouldn't be limited to mainstream society's "gender guidelines". They're yawn-worthy.
OK I think before all of you judge that a corset can kill you, and other such ridiculous nonsense, that you should research what it is you are about to comment on. I corset to 22" and I hear nothing but compliments on how I look. I am also goth-as-fuck so it goes well with laytex. Another note when the corset comes off your body reshapes itself, but it gives women more of an hourglass shape. I'm impartial to men using it, but I prefer it on women.
Why did someone give you a thumbs down!? That is madness! I am also "goth-as-fuck" and a plague rat to boot and corsets have been a big part of my life since I was young and was obsessed with the victorian era/style. I
have a natural hourglass shape that I love but have a hard time showing it in the clothing I have so I use corsets for that. Is it killing me? No. It is my own choice and I am happy as fuck to flaunt it to people who are afraid to use it and I show that it is not as extream as it once was. I got off topic on this, but anyway, You are obsolutely correct, and I have many spelling mistakes. Thank you, i'm out of this rant before it gets out of hand hahaha
I have nothing against a guy wearing a corest, but at the end, he holds his wife hand, and then pokes the seamstress in the bum with the end of his umbrella. That, I disagree with.
i think it looks nice, i do think that a mens corset should not be quite so tight but what does it matter.
i am a guy and i sometimes wear a corset. and if you go back in time men use to wear corsets people seem to forget that. i think it makes a strong statment because if you look at women they take everything and can wear anything they like, so why shouldn't men wear a corset.
I said 'Get a Life' because people called the man gay for wearing a corset. We saw he had a wife, and just because someone is wearing a corset, doesn't make them gay.
Anyone object to this?

women ALONE should wear a corset...men look stupid in one..
mychemaddict1 2 years ago 2
in this one yes, but during the regency era, men (all of them) weared corsets. That's what makes Mr Darcy and all the austenian men so handsome. But they were men corsets, quite different from the women's and not ludicrous like the one this man in the video is wearing.
msinvincible2000 2 years ago
no one should wear corsets they crush your organs
MsAshonte 2 years ago
Only if they're worn improperly.
I personally wouldn't consider a 38-38-38 figure very beautiful, but you're right in a way because 11" is just way too tiny. 22" is perfect, in my point of view.

Much applause to you for enforcing gender role stereotypes.
Men and women should both do whatever they please as long as it's not harming anyone. Quit promoting bounds and division between the sexes.
Marllon 2 years ago 98
@Marllon not harming anyone? im pretty sure their internal organs are suffering some damages.
self mutilation freaks me out.
kurniawandennis 1 year ago
That's their own problem if it is. My point is that it's not harming you.
Unless you plan to wear a corset, then you should keep to yourself.

@floydslastdayonearth ??? I did not make any comments against corsets or people who wear them. Whatever you read, you misinterpreted.

@Marllon Then how about your wife/fiancee/girlfriend or even daughter would be working in eg. coal mine? Would that make you happy? I'm not sexist, but there really are things that only one of gender should do.
wonsPOLAND 1 year ago

Opheliac666 2 years ago 3
Why did someone give you a thumbs down!? That is madness! I am also "goth-as-fuck" and a plague rat to boot and corsets have been a big part of my life since I was young and was obsessed with the victorian era/style. I
scamoo 2 years ago
have a natural hourglass shape that I love but have a hard time showing it in the clothing I have so I use corsets for that.

That, I disagree with.

thats a brave man to squeeze down that tight in a corset
PuzzledGlance 2 years ago 3
i think it looks nice, i do think that a mens corset should not be quite so tight but what does it matter.
i am a guy and i sometimes wear a corset. and if you go back in time men use to wear corsets people seem to forget that. i think it makes a strong statment because if you look at women they take everything and can wear anything they like, so why shouldn't men wear a corset.

omgosh, srsly? :'D
I said 'Get a Life' because people called the man gay for wearing a corset. We saw he had a wife, and just because someone is wearing a corset, doesn't make them gay.
