Yes I think it's a good solution for home recording. You get 8 inputs for mic or guitars (suitable for most bands), some good effects, master functions and CD recording. I like it - but I still have a lot to learn about all options.

Nice playing, but these two guitars do not sound good together at all. The Lakewood's volume decays badly in the midrange - in part perhaps due to the amount of reverb - and the single mic choice for both guitars insists that you find instruments that work together better than this.

Matons are very forward instruments. The blackwood creates brittle projection and a mahogany or maple guitar goes much better with that than rosewood.

many thanks for your feedback. We agree, the single mic choice is not the best solution - but all we had at that moment. In the future we will try two mics, so we can adjust the volume. We don't want to argue about the instruments, for us the playability is the most important thing - 80% of the sound comes out of your fingers. And there are a lot of personal taste or individual prefenences in the other arguments you made. We like it this way.

i think the mix is perfect ; you can hear Bernd pulling it in in the back whenever you need to, and say at about 0:50 the rhythm and lead combination is all there.

you've got to think, martin's playing the main part so it doesnt matter if he's louder
