I don't know how this affects safety ( good or bad ) but if nothing else its a bad ass looking car. Very sleek....I hear it adds 25 lbs to the car....but IF its more safe then why not. I am hearing mixed reviews so far
That isn't remotely accurate. Craig Breedlove had a Top Fuel Dragster with an enclosed canopy in 1964. He had mixed results with the car. The enclosed front wheels were acting like rudders and the car was very "squrrelly" when it picked up some serious speed at the other end, in addition to air build-up under rear cowling, causing a loss of traction. Craig eventually parked the car to concentrate fully on Land Speed Records. The car is now on display at The Don Garlits Museum, in Ocala, FL.
closed canopy aint new. they did a lot of this during the "aero wars" in the mid-late 80's.
