its ok choke but i see many ways out off that if ur gunna hook the leg then u need to hook it depper and fall down towards it as if u were going for the arm bar from the back off of the spider web setup other wards he can roll up into u and thats a horrible neck deffense to by the way
@skaterkidhma It always works very well for me with plenty of leverage on the choke. Personally I dont particularly like a lot of Eddie Bravos stuff as it relies too much on flexibility that some people dont have, so it is difficult to teach to them. A lot of people who have tried it seem to hurt their knees.
@YeoDojo if people would streach properly and before hand and daily the flexability would not be that big of a problem for example my training partner that weights almost 250 has no problem doin rubber guard and other stuff from eddie brovo
@skaterkidhma I am not sure what it is, as the people who have got injured are flexible. I think in sparring when there is a lot of force being generated it seems to play havoc with some peoples knees. I personally have been playing with these positions and dont currently have an issue, although against a really heavy or powerful opponent I would worry about the lateral stress on my knee joint. Personally I would prefer to use other techniques that dont run the risk of damaging my knee.
Ok idk if this was just a Gi thing but what kind of Defence was that guy using to huard his neck.def not taking anything away from the choke but I would like to see it done with someone actually protecting their neck
But to answer your questions I would imagine that some people get upset about gi or no gi because of the "practicality" of it. With the huge contemporary interest in MMA, people probably like to see the most practical and down-and-dirty fighting techniques. Plus, a gi usually implies a sense of discipline and formality that lots of MMA enthusiasts don't want to bother with.
This is seems pretty good. We were going over this drill today and I wish I would of seen this first so I could try it. I'll try it out my next class and let you know how it goes.
Thanks for your polite enquiry. I will post a couple of videos on taking the back tomorrow. If the eyes and strikes are up for grabs, I have a much better position to do both of these. It is very difficult to strike behind you effectively, however I can strike cleanly.
watch you don't lose your eyes while your doing that, also. am curious to know how you get into that position. if you can show vid leading to this situation. Thanks.
Please see the videos posted of turtle to back 1 and2. These are how to get the back from just one position. You can get the back from alot more positions.
Into the back position? It's really not hard to get there if you know grappling and someone else doesn't.
Of course, if eye gouges are allowed (as you're discussing), I can do those from the back instead of the choke a lot more effectively than you can when I have your back.
Thats called the nigger noose choke.

@illuminatiCannibal Wow and stupidly I thought it was the ignorant C*@T choke
YeoDojo 4 months ago
@YeoDojo nope, the cunt choke is done from north south leg scissors, very hard to explain on paper. You have to have a huge vagina.

@skaterkidhma When I am teaching I also need to teach techniques that the whole class can do not just the flexible guys.

@36MonkeysThatFly why people always complain about gi or no gi?

@bhaalicr not complaining, just asking.

@ohwowlookout Oh I know. Im just saying it LOOKS almost like a crank the way you get the guys head pulled for leverage. Totally badass.
