OK I remember Catwalk his nickname. I was stationed at Ft. Polk got there in 1994 at 18 yrs old.I use to see Cecil at the NCO club at post. The truth be told. Cecil failed himself he was a molester in high school and it went unchecked. The guy got into fights all the time about him disrespecting women. Because he was a beast with his hands as well . As far as LSU come on everyone knew he had shortcomings. Why not research your people before you recruit them. Hey had the world and he give it away
I'm only 14 and live i in Louisiana, about 20 minutes from leevesville, and still to this day, all I hear about is how this guy, was EASY a Heisman winner, and hall if fame to be, sucks that alllll of this talent was just thrown away
I'm from leesville.....I played ball at pickering..the other cross town powerhouse football program at the time...I was lucky enough to grow up around talent like this...I was n 9th grade when he was a senior...we used to play them n the parish jamboree each year.....I watched this guy run all over two all state LBs....we were class 2a..they were 4a...but that was the only game we lost all year....he was great with the football...best I ever seen....hold ya head cecil
In the height of his career at LSU, I remember meeting him at the Superdome during the LHSAA Football champions. He asked me, referring to one of the good looking Monroe girls wearing tight jeans "yo man, do you see panties?"
Cecil Collins was arguably one of the most talented running backs in the history of L.S.U. football. He posessed that rare combination of speed and brute power. It's truly unfortunate that he chose to engage in activity which was detrimental to both his amateur and professional careers. Life is about making choices, and, sadly for Cecil, his choices led to some harsh consequences. I truly wish him the best upon his release from the penal system.
I watched him his senior year at Leesville High School in Leesville, LA. He was a fuckin beast. I followed him thru LSU and McNeese State. I watched his one season with the Dolphins. Now he's in prison. What a collossal waste of talent.
@MOBST3RX5 ...while Dante Stallworth gets out in a month for driving drunk and killing someone! Quite a messed up world we're living in. I remember this guy when he played for my Dolphins. I always looked at Collins as the guy who was finally going to help Marino get a ring...always wondered what could have been. He'll be out soon and he's still young. Hopefully, he'll make good use of his freedom...
@daniel235040. I'm an idiot? He was underused the year he played before getting injured. He went to jail after he was drafted by Miami. I'd like you to say that to face and see what happens. However IO didn't realize being a National Merit Scholar and scoring a 31 on the ACT makes you an idiot. I can't imagine what a genius like yourself got on it.
@lsufanbr He wasn't underused. He couldn't enrol in 96' because of his grades, then 97' was his Freshmen year. Kevin Faulk got injured, and Cecil started against Miss St, Auburn, and I believe Akron which were the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th games of that season, and he rushed for like 580 yards and 3 TDs. He broke his leg against Vanderbilt, and then got in trouble and got kicked out. Had he not broken his leg, I think we win out in 97, and we don't have a losing season in 98 or 99.
and he didn't grow up in the "Hood", it was a nice middle class neighborhood, but across the railroad tracks was a different story...we lived on the good side of em, haha.
Cecil used to be my neighbor back when he went to Leesville, I was a kid of course but I remember playing with his little brother B.J. all day. I played for the Wampus Cats and now I go to LSU, but I'm too small to play for my Tigers. Too bad Cecil messed up...
Man, I remember when I was at Washington-Marion and Leesville beat the dog shit out of us. 44-14. Cecil scored every touchdown. And every time they'd score that loud fuckin tiger roar would sound off in the stadium. But he ran all over us and we were good.
I remember Cecil from High School. I played at Pickering (also in Leesville). This dude ran a 10.04 in the 100 as well (at 210lbs). Problem is that he used to beat everyone down, and get away with it because he was Cecil Collins. Too bad the Leesville Coaches didn't get this guy some help. His Brother was a beast at fullback too...
I needed that...I always wondered how it wouldve been had he behaved & stayed healthy + a healthy Faulk...these guys gave birth to the idea of star backs sharing the load but never quite got it going...cant forget Rondell Mealey...geaux tigers
Forget Rondell Mealey what are you talking about... That guy was tremendous.. He may have not been as good as collins or Kevin Faulk, but he was a damn good football player..
I've been watching LSU football for nearly 20 years. Cecil was the best running back to play there. He was just an idiot who thought he was untouchable from the law.
this man would have took over where faulk left off. reminds me of james 33 of miami - howard 8 of michigan. power back thats willing to take on 2 lbs at the same time - Dlinemen and runs over dbs for the joy of it. like bo, e. campbell, j. brown
sad he was set up as a dolphin player in a fake rap case.
Played against him in HS, dude was a beast Then he broke his leg vs. auburn, and hes never seen the football field again as far as i know. He chased some girl around with his dick out at LSU, transferred to McNeese, his first game they didnt play him, and then he shook his dick at another woman before the next game. He was so talented that the Dolphins took him on despite his having hardly played any colege ball, but alas he got all rapey again. such a waste. He would have won the Heisman.
Strange guy. He went to jail for 15 years and ruined his football playing career because of girls. 15 years in jail because he wanted to watch a woman sleep??? He was in the NFL, and apparently he couldnt find any groupies so he had to break in to a woman's house to watch her sleep. To watch her sleep. Now he wont get out to 2014. Dude could play ball though. It's a goddamn shame no one could help him with his issues.
the sad part of all of this is that he could of went to the pros out high school !! Yes by far the best running back i ever seen !! he would hit the side line and boom he was out! But Mr. Collins if you get to see this hold your head and get better. We love you and God bless!
part 2: but the system failed him no body step in when they saw this young brother falling by the way .. not even his weak ass High School coach Mr. Smith who would let this young man do what ever he wanted and get away with it! but thats the town for you they use you and then when the s. hi. t hits the fan they dump you!
I went to school with this kid and he has had problems with women for a long time he used to get in to fights with the kids that lived on the local ARMY base over this girl he was dateing at the time. and in the class room he wasnt that great. But every body is saying badd things about him but when he was cool he was a nice guy !
he's in jail untill 2014. He attempted to crawl in a womans bedroom while she was sleeping with her husband. They called the cops on him and he was arrested. I have a hard time believing that it was just him in the ordeal... I think it was a mutual thing. Had her husband not been home it might have been a different situation. I mean he was a professional football player.. It's not that hard to get pussy if you are in the pros.
Ok, Teabag. You think you're tough enough to play? Then put your money where your mouth is. Suit up and try out for an American football team. Then you tell us all what you think. Until then you know about as much about football as you probably know about fornication. Which is exactly dick.
Cecile Collins. He looked like he was running downhill every time he touched the ball. Man, what a waste of talent. It's a dirty shame.
