  • I don't know about him, I love him so much and hate him slightly too. Everything about Order of the Phoenix, Half Blood Prince and DH Part 1 I loved, wasn't many negatives BUT DH Part 2, I loved most of it but the battle scenes, well, they were fantastic but there WEREN'T ENOUGH. It does annoy me because I know they've filmed more and held them back (pictures/ behind the scenes clips show it)

I would love to have had Alfonso carry it on but Yates still did an amazing job.

  • I grew up with this guy...Asshole he aint....Talented bloke and still looks after his old mates and he is still one of my greatest friends......for those who dont know him like I do shut your gobs! end of!

  • david yates is a fucking asshole. i liked dh 1 and 2 at least. but cuaron wouldve been FAR better than this hack. cuaron said he wouldve put the marauders storyline (the big problem ppl have with his movie) in a future movie so you have that, but also anyone whos seen children of men knows how well he handles action. imagine one of his famous track shots going through hogwarts during the final battle. FUCK. he wanted to come back too.

  • he's not a doctor who director..

  • the man who ruined harry potter ladies and gentlemen

  • Without him we wouldn't be watching Harry potter.

  • I'll never understand the success of Harry Potter. I can only imagine that Rowling made a deal with a demon. It's just so boring. Right away the music insipidly says to you, "welcome to this wondrous magical world - sit back as i tell you how to feel about what's happening..." Generic, boring, shrill... I don't get it. Is it that it's about magic and therefore no threat in this anti-intellectual era?

  • @ion010101 Read at least the first three books then get back to me x

  • @BleakDisc It's a deal. Why not just the first one?

  • @ion010101 Hmm I don't know, they just get better (although many like the first book as its the most captivating). You give it a go anyway! You never know!

  • alfonso

    mike

    chris

    david

my order by favorites. all great directors.

  • He have amazing voice

  • Guys, movies arent suposed to show EVERY DETAIL in the book! thats what the books are for! otherwise those movies woulda been like 10 hours each. theyve done what they can to make it a good cinematic production and not put in every detail but still have the MAIN concept. thats allllll they need!

  • @ElmoPantsBieber26 it would be better if they made movies 10 hours long.

  • @BeppeOwnage I dont think id have the time to watch them then

  • @ElmoPantsBieber26 i think youd have more time than you needed to watch them.

  • ok,I think he is a great director. He made great Harry Potter movies, but I think he ruined last Harry Potter movie. It is final movie and he made it bad.Where is Fred'death scene?Where are Snape's most important memories(when he cast Sectusempra on George)? Why was battle so short? Why was end so short? And finally, where is Ravenclaw common room and why was McGonagall vs Snape duel so underwhelming?Really,David??

  • the new dumbledore is evil

  • Best directer to direct any of the harry potter films.

  • I have to say that Yates did a poor job with the fifth one, but after that, he did a really good job. Much better than the goblet of fire from newell which was garbage in my opinion. Alfonso Cuaron is still the best though...

  • i hate u with my whole heart david yates!!! You made up a harry hermione love story and now every JERK wants to BELIEVE that is REAL and in the book they were JUST friends and you ASSHOLE spoiled everything!!!

  • @spemka At what point was there ever a Harry/Hermione love story?

  • @hpathbp25 have you seen deathly hallows and read the books and haven't noticed the harry hermione scenes not in the book and mostly with the snake in DH2?( ull catch me if u saw it)

  • @spemka It's not David Yate's fault there was a lot of screentime for those two. Steve Kloves wrote the script and David was only directing what he had written.

  • @AndThePincers wow mom told me the same thing before some seconds :O yeah, well i think it is both their fault. i mean, it is not only h/hr. it is some changed book scenes that should've the same. anyways.

  • 6:05 that little circle of hair on the right side of his head BOTHERS me.

  • David Yates did a crappy job directing Harry Potter

  • Chris Columbus was a great director. If he wasn't, fans wouldn't have stuck around past the first movie. David Yates incorparates more elements into the films and enhances the experience. His style is great for the last few movies and i greatly admire him as a director, but Chris did a great job of making the movies when the stories were lighter and the kids were younger. He introduced us to the world of Harry Potter, and the fact that we're still fans says they're both amazing directors.

  • David Yates – what a cunt.

  • IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE OVER

copy paste this into youtube search bar ...

Harry Potter Clan - Scheibe Parody

share with other Harry Fans! its sooo funny

  • What a tosser! I am sure he is working for free, ruined the series.

  • is hagrids son interviewing yates?

  • harry potter! I will miss you!

  • I like that "Danielle Radcliffe" is tagged right after "sex traffic" and "State of Play" and "The Giver". Your tags confuse me, Movies.ie.

  • this interviewer opens with the same line in every video...

  • Order was better than Prince.

  • every video he says raging hormones lol

  • me to! but il watch it in two days

  • Weird... I'm watching this exactly 2 years after it was posted, just 4 days before the worldwide release of the final film.

  • @AlexHeyNa My friend went to Germany because of family and he saw it last night. Lucky Europeans. He loved every minute of it and said there was a lot of eye candy. I can't wait to see it myself. It may be the best of the 8 films is what he said and I don't blame him.

  • @goldAUsilverAG Yeah, I saw an advance screening last night here in the US. It left me speechless...literally. People would ask me what I thought and I just couldn't find words to describe it. It is absolutely phenomenal.

  • @cinemaker006 They definitely did not let us down on this one.

  • david yates looks like a squirrel

  • at 5:14 does he mean scale of the movie?

  • colombus and yates are the best directors!!!!

  • @MyDanDoo in my opinion hp 4 is the best movie, it was directed by newell, but i agree with that hp 1-2 wasnt that good

  • Yates makes a great Harry Potter Film resp.

  • i dont like david yates. he leaves out tooooooooooooooo many important details in the potter movies. like i was confused as to why harry had a broken piece of glass and didnt know who he was talking to. and lots of other things. i wanted to see the fight at the beginning on their brooms. order of the phoenix sucked big time. i like chris columbus better. oh and tonks didnt know she was preg til i read online.

  • i reckon he did harry potter and order of the pheonix but i think he didnt explain what a horcrux was and did not give enough attention to horcruxes in harry potter and the half blood prince. i think his style of exciting fast paced action wasnt suited to harry potter and the half blood prince since its more of a slow paced book

  • I love Yates' films in HP!! He adds more darkness to the story, compared to Columbus' films, Yates will probably be the best! Especially HBP was great so far, there was something different from the other films that made me like HBP and DH1 the best!!! He just makes HP more incredible!! :D

  • That said, Yates seems like a really lovely and intelligent guy. The kind of dude you'd just want to hang out and have a beer with. He has great passion for the books and I have a huge amount of respect for him tackling 4 huge movies in a row, especially when Alfonso Cuaron and Mike Newell could barely get through one each. I have my differences of opinion on how the books should have been adapted, but I'm much lazier than Mr. Yates :P

So I wish him all the best, and I CAN'T WAIT FOR PART 2!!

  • @drewarts Yeah I don't mind them cutting out huge amounts of explanations. That's fine. It would have been BORING to have a whole movie filled with flashbacks, each one followed by 10 minutes of an old man explaining shit to a kid in a room. Movies can't hold as much information as books, they just can't. But it's the little stuff that could easily have stayed the same, but was changed for dumb reasons. Like Dumbles screaming, the Burrow on fire, H/Hr dancing. Small things, but it's annoying!

  • @MyDanDoo I will say Yates did a great job on HP7. That is far and away the best Potter film, even with the worst material book-wise. But 5 & 6 were the worst, he flubbed those. I don't mind any of the cuts; you have to cut. But WIZARDS CAN'T FLY. Otherwise, why would you need brooms?

  • Comment removed

  • Sry, but Yates sucked at the HP movies, they could have been waaaaay better.

  • @manta567 I think HBP kinda sucked but Deathly Hallows was awesom.i didnt expect that from David Yates.Cant wait for part 2.

  • Honestly, this guy is so aggravating. His warping and adding of scenes sucks the life and development out of all the movies he's made so far. I wish I could've talked to him while he was directing HBP and DHpt1 and said, "Listen, do you realize what you have on your hands? This isn't just a story that you can change around just because you can. This is one of the greatest stories of all time, do it justice! This isn't about YOUR vision." DHpt2 better blow me away, I'm not expecting much though.

  • He's has such a charming demeanor voice and expression. He Seems like a unique soft spoken and intelligent fellow. As a Harry Potter fan I love his films and find it a priviledge to have him directing the 2 part epic finale to the series.

  • @MyDanDoo Don't you see HP 6??? did you read that book? it wasn't a romantic comedy... it was a very dark book.

  • i agree onehundred percent with 3edere in your argument because the fact that im a frekin harry potter BOOK frek i still absulutly LOVE the movies and monotoned? really? your an idiot

  • Holy Shit, I've never seen anyone talk that fast. This interviewer seems to be keen on breaking all records.

  • @ My DanDoo ...and btw, every child who complains about having been treated like a child and feel the need to specify they are not, actually behave like a child

  • @MyDanDoo For heaven sake kiddo, do it then, go and do the things you love and care about, and leave once and for all this pointless discussion!!! JUST DO WHAT U ACTUALLY CLAIM U WILL, because in here, between you and I you're being ridiculous! No offense.

  • @MyDanDoo Seriously, laughing at your posts is becoming pathetically painful. Here a lesson for u: the one starting with insults first were actually you dear, and this shows even more the sort of kid you are. Yep, now I cannot laugh anymore, I feel very, very, very sad for you!

  • @MyDanDoo U...hm...actually... knew it??!! How thick can u get sweety! Please, bring it on, carry on posting, at every line u make my day!

  • @MyDanDoo and I quote you: "OK, this ends my discussion with you. Goodbye" u kiddy are so lovely and so ridiculous! Please carry on!!!!!!!! lol

  • @MyDanDoo Whatever u say sweety, whatever u say...lol

  • @MyDanDoo Because when u "adapt" a book to the big script, the actual content IS THE MATTER! Btw, even if the script is in effect responsibility of the writer and not the director, the whole thing, including the constant changes on the script, are a team effort and should in any case be well justified, thing which, in case of completely made up scenes, they are not. Finally, there is NOTHING improved on the actors skills, they are 100% monotone and totally unrealistic. Truly crap.

  • This is first time i got a free movie and most are great and latest. Thank you so much. see it on Yebak0 /c0.m/

  • 0:01

  • I did like this movie but my favourites has to be Prisoner of Azkaban and the Order of the Phoenix

  • @MyDanDoo Since DY came on board the actors' interpretations went from ok, to average to terrible! The rhythm of the movie is slower than ever before, his choice of cutting vital parts of the original books totally absurd and completely incoherent with the fact that he actually added up a scene which did not exist in the original story and doesn't bring anything to the plot. I'd love to hear comments by JKR on the last 3 films. The best ever made in my opinion are Azk. and Goblet.

  • I believe Yates should add the chapter from the Deathly Hollows: "The Princes Tale" and experiment a bit with it in the movie. I think the people that watch only the movies should have the knowledge of Snape being the secretive "hero" of the Harry Potter series.

  • Yates is brilliant. He has a profound understanding of characters and character development. If you like Columbus' films... well, you don't know anything about filmmaking. Sorry.

  • @DrFlaxWebFLOO and what if you think Chris's films are OK and David's are either hits or misses(DH1-great hit,HBP-awful miss,OOTP-somewhere in between),but you think Newel's and especially Cuaron's films are best BY FAR!!!

  • @DrFlaxWebFLOO

That's a little harsh. I personally liked all the Harry Potter films, but they go by what they were sold as. The first 2-3 books were more fitted for children. It was when those kids started growing that the series became more mature and developed. It's not that the old films were bad, it's just that the newer films had better material to work with and the actors were more experienced. That's like saying a film from the silent-era is bad because newer films have sound and color.

  • @DrFlaxWebFLOO Funny. I have the same opinion only it's if you like David Yates' films. Yates was not true to the book and skipped out on way too much!

  • @MyDanDoo The guy is right, HBP was a disaster. And you're no fan of Potter if you say that about his movies, they were the most magical of them all. You're a fucking troll.

  • @MyDanDoo Cinematography isn't all what makes a good movie. It is you who knows nothing about what makes a good film, and you're certainly no Potter fan. I've heard enough of the ridiculous bigotry coming out of your mouth. Before I go, it's story that makes a good film you twat. You should get your head out of your ass and realize that. Half Blood Prince was awful and butchered the story. And personally, all that unnecessary coloration was over the top. It sucked arse. Columbus's films=magical.

  • @MyDanDoo Saying that Columbus's films don't have good cinematic structure and quality and that they are the weakest of the series is BS. Besides, we all know that the train wreck of Half Blood Prince was the weakest of the series.

  • @MyDanDoo I think they are excellent because they ARE excellent. They were the books as movies with awesome elements to make them even better. Yates and the producers have the final say in something.

Not everything in a film is about having a cool gray cinematic tone to it. If that's what you like about movies then you're probably like that with all movies. Don't give a damn about the story but are all googly eyed for over the top coloration and whatnot.

  • i really enjoyed alfonso's version best out of the entire series

  • that's the problem with Half Blood Prince. He had too much fun with it.

  • @MyDanDoo He did great on Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows. The problem is that he cut so much out of Half Blood Prince that it was ridiculous. There weren't even deleted scenes containing important cut material. And what irks me the most were his bad excsuses such as "oh that didn't really fit" or "we didn't want repetition". There is no way for me to forgive him for leaving out the Battle of Astronomy Tower and Dumbledore's Funeral.

  • He outdid himself with DH - the cinematography was GORGEOUS!

  • The movies cannot be made exactly as the books it is very difficult to create the perfect book imitation .There's an oscar category in this regard .I think Yates is great.

  • Give the guy a break, he had to start on the worst books in the series!

  • @MyDanDoo

I understand that things have to be cut from the film and I think it is pointless in copying the novel exactly. However,The film must work as a standalone film from the books and the fact is Yeat's films do not.Chris Columbus started the franchise off fine with very close adaptions but the third and fourth tightened the narrative for the films. Both were excellent, and the third is currently the best potter film.David Yeats derailed the franchise.Alfonso Cuaron should have returned

  • I thought this film was such a letdown, since they didn't include important things that were in the book....some of the other characters were neglected and instead we had too much on the romance aspect I thought =.=

  • @MyDanDoo The series was already ruined with the first two movies because of Chris Columbus and one has to acknowledge that David Yates came along and put it right.

  • he say raging hormones in every f*cking video!!!

  • the interviewer sounds like mad eye moody!!

  • He's the second best director after Cuaron, easily. Newell's use of the school was too much of just some typical boarding school, and none of the staff was quite right in that one. Plus his transitions are jarring and edited together rather poorly. Columbus is just pretty bad overall. so lacking in any personality and character, whatever is there is just what's left over from the books, and plus his movies just look awful for the most part. Yates has been getting better which each film.

  • I FUCKING HATE THIS MOTHER FUCKING PIECE OF DOG SHIT he honestly should kill himself for fucking up the last 3 harry potter films. funny how all the previous directors especially the one for the goblet did fucking amazing jobs and this sack of shit made the last 3 films and totally fucked them up so hard it makes the series out of touch and dead. i just watched the hallows and my god it was so crap i wanted to shoot him right there. this is total bullshit. FUCK YOU DICK HEAD!

  • @irongut12345 What suits a book may not suit a film.

They had to keep to a budget. They even made the 7th film into two parts so the story makes sense.

J.K Rowlings favourite Harry Potter yet is what is in Cinemas at the minute, Directed by Yates.

He captures every scene amazingly and 5, 6 and now 7 pt 1 are the only Harry Potters where I feel emotion linking to the book, the films are what I grew up with and 5 and 6 are definitely my favourite films. 7 is too early to judge.

  • @irongut12345 hey, I'm going to try to be nice and civilized when i explain to you DAVID YATES IS ONE AMAZING MOTHERFUCKING DIRECTOR. THE FOURTH HARRY POTTER SUCKED SHIT OUT OF A COWS ASS. THE LAST THREE FILMS HAVE BEEN AN AMAZING IMPROVEMENT OVER THE REST. SUCK THE BALLS OF A NORWEGIAN RIDGEBACK YOU MOTHERFUCKING MUDBLOOD CUNT.

  • @MyDanDoo I think he makes strange editing choices, like the unexplained, unnecessary laughter-scenes in both OotP and HBP, where hermione just laughs really hard for no reason. The explanation that he gives is that Emma, Rupert and Dan were laughing at a joke on set. You should never keep something in because you're nostalgic and you had fun shooting it. You should do what's better for the movie. These are like amateur mistakes. It's part of the reason people hate that dance scene in Part1.

  • AMERICANIZED?! THE FUCK THIS NIGGA TALKIN BOUT.

  • I am not a big fan of how he directed the movies sometimes, but I have to admit he did a good job in trying to tell such a long story in such a small time. Stil, I would have wanted better direction for the actors in some scenes...but nontheless, good job.

  • have the same last name sounds the same except spelled differently by 1 letter

  • Yates is a brilliant director. The Half Blood Prince was the second best Potter movie, Prisoner of Azkaban being the first. I'm not a HUGE Potter fan, but I have become because of him. He's the reason I'll see Deathly Hallows.

  • What is that fool of an interviewer saying? He's retarded. Press are idiots.

  • ich möchte hir nur mal an merken das fiele sachen nicht mit dem buch über ein stimmen was ich bedauere und ich hoffe das ihn den beiden 7 teilen besser arbeit geleistet wurde

  • exactly Its David Heyman who has the last say on these films hes the one who got rich off them and David yates has a massive job of Delivering these films at least its English director which makes HP even more British hes done quite well with the films hopfully Deathy hallows is even more amazing

  • Hm. Seems like a cool director.

  • Is that mad eye moody interviewing lol

  • WTF yates the hbp movie SUCKED. the books are greater I think

  • I understand about the Goblet of Fire of how shortening it down but he could've made Half Blood Prince a lot better.

  • Is it true that Yates will be making a movie from the book "The Giver?"

  • @kebyonatin THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!!

  • @bloodstoneian well, i'm not sure yet... coz theres a rumor about it in the internet... but i hope it'll be true...

  • order of the phoenix was weak but i think that was because it was david's first feature film. half blood prince is much better though i wish he'd bring in more parts from the book. i'm pretty confident that deathly hallows will be epic as hell

  • The best Harry Potter director to date! I am not going to deny that some important scenes were cut from the film in the editing processing, but the movies have improved greatly. A lot of work, a lot of beautiful and marvelous work as gone into the last two films, and I am guaranteed the last movie will explode all roofs.

My least favorite director was Christopher Columbus: his directing isn't very good. And it was easy for the screenwriter to adapt the film as close to the first two books bec

  • i know david yates had mad marvelous movies but he deleted very very important parts from the the half blood prince book that are very important for the deathly hallows book and I think that wasnt very clever, i know he needed to cut some part from a 700 hundred page book but not important parts from a book, for example fleur delacour neither bill are neither dobby or kreacher mentioned on the sixth movie and they are very important on the deathly hallows book

  • he totally messed up the harry ginny relationship it pisses me off every time I watch it

  • you're all stupid, harry potter is from satan. JK rolling is a witch and part of the free mason. you are all falling in their trap.

  • @mrworms3d r u crazy im gonna guess u r

  • @verrypotterfan well that's what you think. god said not to give the pearl to the pig, and i just did to you.

  • i think the books are great i have read them loads, but he has just ruined them making the films crap, all the humour is just too cheesy and the romance is over the top, it just ruins the quality the first two films had

  • The movies are fine movies, but they absolutely take away so much from the books, they're almost different stories almost in what they add and take away from the books.

  • hahaha I just remember, does anyone remember in harry potter 1

when harry and hermione used to say

THATS whats guarding the door...THATS what snape wants..

    good times.. :)

  • now that I know this, I am REALLY wishing Alfonzo would have come back. Or maybe Mike, because he was a brilliant director if you watch the behind the scenes stuff. Both of them would have been brilliant for the final films but they couldn't get rid of this guy. I have always been annoyed when he cuts important bits out and adds stupid bits in. Why did Harry need to pick up a Muggle girl in a cafe? That's stupid. So, anyway. I didn't really enjoy that last 2 films.

  • @NatalieNJessieMusic I know! he doesn't even make Ron Harry and Hermione seem like best friends.... oh, and i heard he's changing the r/hr kiss to the chamber of secrets... how wrong is that?

  • @NatalieNJessieMusic

I really agree! Like I hate the way its all dark, and I liked mike, although I despised the yule ball, it made me sad for some reason. But yeah, the new ones are less happy and more 'YES THE DARK LORD IS COMING' blah blah blah.

  • @xIIKayze Yeah, I totally get where you are coming from. I hope he does a good job with these next two and I think he MIGHT be able to pull it off. And i really did like Mike. He was just so into it and the characters and everything.

  • @NatalieNJessieMusic yeah, I watched behind the scenes, it was less dark, and the muggle girl thing...pfft, and I loved mike behind the scenes, although It made me feel really jealous and left out for some reason.

  • @xIIKayze I loved Mike behind the scenes TOO. It made me jealous TOO. He just seemed so into it and ready to do whatever it took. He understood the film. And ARGH, he was so perfect.

  • Is there anyone who knows which camera they use in this film? I need to know this for a quiz.. Thanks

  • @MyDanDoo

    I guess I don't

  • Yates sucks, for some very basic reasons. It's understandable why a director has to CUT or modify the story to fit into a film.

But if pressed for time, why ADD scenes that don't exist in the book ... and don't help the plot (i.e. the fish / flower petal scene, attack at the Burrow, etc.). Then why change other scenes (i.e. Harry hiding under the floor when Dumbledore is attacked, instead of being invisible) for no reason.

Most people, who haven't read books, can't understand the movie.

  • long live ALFONSO!!!!

  • I Think So Far Alfonso (Director Of Pirsoner Of Azkaban) and Mike Newell (Director of Goblet Of Fire) Were My Favoret Directors. And Yetes is not the best

  • Learn about good directors and not the plot at all....what can you be bored of Davidd???5th was small movie but really good...!!!!HBP on the other hand was Epic...i hope every hp movie from the beggining would be with david...but everything happens for a reason right???DAVIDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!I I only wish you did more comments on the fans to answer them and a little more adventure not so realistically good movies..!!!!D: you need some fantasy more because u are keen on realism which is good.

  • And jk explained that there must be more in the movie in order for the audience to watch another kind of movie....not to mention that david is the best and most lovely of all the previous...not i dont respect the previous which i do...especially chris and alfonso...not mike so much....but david is the most respected...!!!he is creative,imaginative...!!!!and go on....But i must keep a warning that DH might not be that Epic..!!!:/ unfortunately but it will be critically awesome!!that's for sure...

  • First of all,David is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Not to mention that he is the only true director who explains his characters a lot...i didnt like that much OOTP but HBP is so awesome!!!!there is so much in it...!!!!adventure,plot humor cinematography best music....what else do you want as you have two whole movies to explain more the horcruxes the battle in Hogwarts,...as for the hut yes it is burned in the movie...and humor according to JK that she said there is too much in it in the book

  • The Half Blood Prince didn't follow the book that well. I don't remember the Weasley's house burning down and they cut the Minister of Magic meeting with the muggle Prime Minister and i can't remember if Hagrid's hut burned down in the book or not

  • @texasginger23 Hagrids Hut Was Exploded wen Snape Killed Dumbledor

  • this move was shit for anyone who actually read the books

  • They made huge mistakes with this movie.

They forgot to add all the important memories, and he say's that in the movie there is more humour but the HBP is about Voldemort and Dumbledore, not about everything he's talking about.

They will not be able to make up the mistake that they did make.

  • @MusicIsIt9 yes I Want Alfonso and Mike Newell Back to Directors

    Board

  • @legosareus Say that all you want the last two have already been filmed... Plus I also wish Alfonzo could of came back. But it's too late now.

  • @dohyou i totally agree with you! thank god that there's someone else who thinks like this i always thought i was the only one :)

  • @dohyou I agree with you

  • I just have a problem with the giant hole they have dug for Harry now. I don't believe that he can figure out what and possibly where all the rest of the horcruxes are on his own without those crucial memories that Dumbledore showed him. If they had just cut out that stupid fight at the burrow (which never happened in the book) and used that time to try and show the other memories Dumbledore had I wouldn't have been as disappointed. I still enjoyed it though.

  • @TGND333 Seriously agree. They've cut out alot of stuffs already and even the clues that SHOULD have been there for the results to be laid out on the last film. It's gonna be pretty hard to explain things now for the last movie and for the audience, it will get pretty confusing..=/

  • He is the best director of "Harry Potter" ever, for me.

  • As an Avid book-reader of Harry Potter, i would say Columbus did not really do good on the films as to the storyline. that sucks so much.

  • This man, along with the idiot who wrote the screenplay has ruined these films.

  • @666Meshuggah Well JK gets final say on the screen play , nothing gets into a film without her say so , the film series is a seperate entity from the books , if you constantly compare you'll be constantly disappointed , enjoy them for that they are.

  • @Matty3Mite3 ..Thank you! I agree with your comment the most!

  • what editing program do ther use for the hp movies?

  • Yates talks so calmly and quietly

  • Yates is an amazing director. He faced the massive job of making 4 of this huge films and made it so well.

And he's not repetitive like Chris Columbus.

  • @Grissha Yeah, all though I think Mike should of come back, they all loved him.

  • @Grissha What ever, he's made the two worst Potter films this far (5th and 6th)

  • @Grissha

    is the worst

    fuck!

  • @sandralovvets So you say. Lacking reason of cause, I think. Yates showed that he really knows how to compose a scene (in this visual aspect he's only not better than Cuarón), and he achieves good stuff out of the actors.

As for the fans that complain, it's interesting to know that Yates is actually the first Harry Potter director to be also a fan of the book, having read it BEFORE the director's chair was even offered.

And still, his movies got more box-office than all others except the 1°.

  • @Grissha Agreed

  • @Grissha Chris Columbus was a horrible director. Warner Bros. was barking mad to even have opted him to direct in the first place.

  • @Grissha Don't you ever say that about Columbus! Columbus' films were excellent! Chamber of Secrets is one of the best ones along with Goblet of fire!

can't believe you just said that. He didn't cut shit right and left like Yates.

  • @EdwardNygma1 I didn't say that Stone and Chamber are terrible movies, just that Columbus' direction is repetitive. Which it is, not because Columbus doesn't have talent or something (bu the way he has), but because he's just too conventional, pattern Hollywood filmmaking.

And he wouldn't have to cut too much because the books he adapted were the smallest, practicallt 2 pages from the book per minute of film.

  • @Grissha LOL okay. You tell yourself that.

  • @EdwardNygma1 I don't have to tell myself what I believe in. Plus, it's not just my opinion, it's Columbus' style, his way of composing scenes, of directing the actors, of editing, and anyone can attest he's conventional before I say it.

Cuarón was unconventional. Yates, more or less. The differences between them and Columbus are evident. And it's not about what they did or didn't cut from the book, but the way they handle a bunch of cameras and create a scene.

  • I love David Yates!

Thank you for making two so wonderful Harry Potter movie!
