it's easy, for assimilation to take place, our education system must be streamline to one system instead of 3 systems that currently using. if these other races culture afraid if losing their culture, than, is simply prolong the school hour to educate their culture and language.
never gonna happen with the govt we have right now. they will always be pro malay. we have a really good example of racial harmony / equality just across the causeway, but still they find it so hard to implement. that's sad.
Racial discrimination was started by our very own government, by giving more rights to one race. When we were kids, it didn't matter. When we grow up, it made a difference to our lives and we begin to feel what the government had created, hence, we cannot stop the attitude of it.
that's why the people should unite and against the government at once. the reason government is creating such issue is to instigate tension between us. when we misunderstood each other, we tend to vent our anger and grievance against the other race. that is the main goal of government because they aware the threat of Pakatan Rakyat. of course there are good & bad Malays in the society, the good one really supports equal rights for all. so we must join them instead of isolate our self from them.
the 1st step towards unity is assimilation. when we assimilate we are willing to accept other cultures and PRESERVE ours at the same time. we don't want to be like Indonesia where Chinese culture totally vanished. we want our children to appreciate & learn from each other, nothing can be divided along the ethnic lines. however, this is only possible when our government (UMNO) has been successfully overthrown. so whatever government want to separate us, don't take the bait.
When I was that age I had heaps of malay friends and we had tons of fun together. I don't even remember how or why that changed but it did... It was just so much simpler then, so many things just didn't matter. Certainly not race...
"O MANKINDI WE CREATED YOU FROM A SINGLE (PAIR) OF A MALE AND A FEMALE, AND MADE YOU INTO NATIONS AND TRIBES, THAT YE MAY KNOW EACH OTHER NOT THAT YE MAY DESPISE EACH OTHER. VERILY THE MOST HONOURED OF YOU IN THE SIGHT OF GOD IS (HE WHO IS) THE MOST RIGHTEOUS OF YOU. AND GOD HAS FULL KNOWLEDGE AND IS WELL ACQUAINTED (WITH ALL THINGS)."
and racial supremacy or the "Malay Special Rights" is illegal in Islam too. not many people know this, even many Malays themselves don't like the fact because they think the constitution of Malaysia is greater than their own religion.
the message of this ad is very good. if it wasn't the racism of UMNO the people of Malaysia could have saved the day. UMNO should break the race barrier and return the equal rights and justice to all Malaysian. There is no racial supremacy in this land because it belongs to all people who were born here.
the special rights favors only cronyism but in Islam everybody is same. sometimes people tend to forget the significance of the Ummah. in fact, their Aqidah is much more important than those benefits offered by the policy. if a government is impartial i don't think our people need to be segregated.
@presa1200 That's the racism you see, but what you don't see are the racism perpetrated by non-Malays towards the Malays, especially from an economic standpoint. Sad to say, Malaysians of all race are guilty of racism, no matter how small. It's not an UMNO problem or a DAP problem, it's OUR problem.
@tiadaid we certainly acknowledge that alcohol manufacturers and gambling operators are the major shareholders in Malaysia. come to think of it who is the one responsible for endorsing the license for these premises? it's our very own government. so i don't think it's wrong to say UMNO perpetrated such racism towards the Malays themselves in an indirect way. btw, there's an innate racism within everyone and it's not totally wrong eg proud of being a Chinese, Indian or Malay and etc.
@tiadaid what happened in Malaysia is part of our problem too but don't think that our government could simply get away with this. in fact, racial incitement by UMNO had been there long before Merdeka as to prevent the people (particularly putera-amcja) from united to protest the government. well that's just the way UMNO rolls
@presa1200 Then the blame should also go to the British govt for its divide and conquer policy. The imbalance we have today are a result of that lopsided policy.
@tiadaid it should actually, the racial segregation in Malaysia is an aftermath of such policy and even the unnecessary conflicts sparked by Indonesia recently also a result of British and Dutch colonization. UMNO is just another set of puppets who carries on the British rule in Malaysia but in a different form of governance of course. that's why our situation hasn't improved that much.
best friend is usually a close one,or a sole mate...WTH...race is irrelevant to being a best friend.this skit with that lady..like she is so yesterday.
She asks this because it's an ad in malaysia about racism against chinese and malay's.. and she's showing that children in their innocence are not racist
yes, there is an hidden message in the ad. if you aware the situation of racial tension happened in Malaysia you will understand this. our government is unfair and racist everybody knows that.
i remember living away from Malaysia where when people ask who we are we will reply "malaysian" instead of chinese/malay/indian/punjabi..it is sad tho that when u r here in your own country u "invidualized"..

Do not force people to go into one system. You'll risk of being called racist supremist of one system.
