@Nuarx is that why it says may 30, 2010, when the flotilla raid was on may 31. let me guess. the idf filmed this some time after the incident, then used a time machine to go 1 day before this incident so they can upload the video on youtube?
@beepu2 This ISN'T fake footage! This is just one of the many times Israel warned Mavi Marmara about what was going to happen! The crew intentionally put all the passangers in danger by neglecting this.
@beepu2 they used a time machine? so now we're in the middle of a sci fi movie? if you're going to make claims, back them up with empirical proof-- clearly you're not an educated one....
Elsewhere in Israel, non-Jewish youths learned that they were unfit to remain in country of their birth. Four-hundred migrant children -- most of them born in Israel -- will be deported soon...ahmed moor
Groups of Jewish Israeli citizens were bused in to cheer the spectacle of the state-sanctioned "ethnic cleansing." What's very shocking is that the Jewish state enlisted the services of young Jews in wreaking destruction. Teenage volunteers with the police civilian guard emptied the Palestinian-Israeli houses and "smashed windows and mirrors in their homes and defaced family photographs with crude drawings."
The Guardian's "Ethnic cleansing in the Israeli Negev," depicts a hulking mass of baklava-clad riot guards descending on Al-Araqib in the pre-dawn morning. The village's Bedouin residents were forcibly extracted from their homes while a bulldozer bulldozed their lives. Incredibly, the village was destroyed to make room for a national forest. It seems that against all morality, the desert will continue to bloom.

“They asked me before the election if I’d honor [the Oslo accords],” Netanyahu said. “I said I would, but … I’m going to interpret the accords in such a way that would allow me to put an end to this galloping forward to the ’67 borders. How did we do it? Nobody said what defined military zones were. Defined military zones are security zones; as far as I’m concerned, the entire Jordan Valley is a defined military zone. Go argue.”
After claiming that the only way to deal with the Palestinian Authority was a large-scale attack, Netanyahu was asked by one of the participants whether or not the United States would let such an attack come to fruition.
“I know what America is,” Netanyahu replied. “America is a thing you can move very easily, move it in the right direction. They won’t get in their way.”
He then called former president Bill Clinton “radically pro-Palestinian,”
According to Haaretz, the video should be “Banned for viewing by children so as not to corrupt them, and distributed around the country and the world so that everyone will know who leads the government of Israel.”
Netanyahu is speaking to a small group of terror victims in the West Bank two years after stepping down as prime minister in 1999.He appears laid-back...
A newly revealed tape of Netanyahu in 2001, being interviewed while he thinks the cameras are off, shows him in a radically different light.
In it, Netanyahu dismisses American foreign policy as easy to maneuver, boasts of having derailed the Oslo accords with political trickery, and suggests that the only way to deal with the Palestinians is to “beat them up, not once but repeatedly, beat them up so it hurts so badly, until it’s unbearable”
translation: we know that you're in international waters about to enter the sovereign waters of another nation. we don't care. we assert authority over both the international waters and the sovereign waters of another nation, regardless of international law. we actually think that this speil we're regurgitating justifies our self-arrogated prepotence. we will splash it on the u-toob to try and look legit. hello? hello?
"Nine Turkish men on board the Mavi Marmara were shot a total of 30 times and five were killed by gunshot wounds to the head, according to the vice-chairman of the Turkish council of forensic medicine, which carried out the autopsies for the Turkish ministry of justice today."
so 30 divided by 9 gives us approximately 3 bullets per person .... and they try making us think Israel has a real army ... lol ... a band of butchers is more likely
"350+ dead children in Gaza war do you also deny this fact?"
I don't have to: it is not a fact. PCHR consider as "children" people that others consider as combattants, ie non-children. Hamas combat in civilian clothes, the more so when they are 15-17. PCHR consider all these as "children" while Israel logically see them as combattants.
The whole of Gaza's civilian population is being punished for acts for which they bear no responsibility. The closure therefore constitutes a collective punishment imposed in clear violation of Israel's obligations under international humanitarian law.
Israel will now claim the Red Cross as being Anti-semetic and being paid by the arab oil producing nations as well as Palestine in a conspiracy to delegitimize Israel.
"Not to the point of going to fight against it, right? Because you're sooooooo scared !!!!!!"
haha, on the contrary i will love to suckerpunch you on the battlefield. these kind of things you do to women and kids, give soldiers a reason why we are fighting you ! and why we shouldnt be merciful towards cowards. You gonna learn my foot to your face technic the hard way , old man haha i dont care if your retired and old, but if you love hurting women and kids, you will begg for mercy !
According to Richard Goldstone , Israeli Defense Forces should be tried of war crimes and possible crimes against humanity during the gaza siege. So yes !! lets bring them to court ! their is STRONG evidence against them unless they are chickenshit and know they are guilty of these allegations.
oopsss , didnt you get the memo ? probably you were drunk when the news should this. right ? hahahaha
Ahhh, using a biased report is no use. The enquiries showed that there has not been any war crime during Cast Lead. An expert testified that Israel did more to avoid civilian casualties than any other Army in the history of warfare.
So the Goldstone report was based on baseless 'palestinian' accusations.
Didn't you know? You are not informed in your retarded country?
only in your deluled vision, haha why dont the jews take on a REAL army that shoots back, not civilians .. thats easy, and thats all they did, gaza, flotilla all civilians , why not try a real army boot and see how high it goes up their arses hahaha. i call them chickenshit ! hahaha lets face it , jews are not superman, they cry and the pie their pants when faced with people that shoot back. videos enough on youtube about their cowardice, i dispise a army that shoot women and kids.
"why dont the jews take on a REAL army that shoots back"
They tried it in 1967 and it didn't give good results.
"not civilians"
They never tried civilians, do you suggest they do? My estimate is that 5 bombs could kill 2000 civilians in five minutes, in Gaza. Next time, send your suggestions to Tsahal.
They will certainly understand what kind of moron you are. Oooops! They already do!
As you have seen, it has become lately more difficult to butcher Jews. Bad news for you, I know!
And now, the worse thing is that butchering Jews comes with a tag price.
To murder 1000 of them, 'palestinians' had to sacrifice 4000. I know it's a mere nothing for them, but that is still four to one. Not a very good result.
And each time, the Israelis are stronger not weaker.
hitler ? he was a jew himself ! haha it takes a jew to commit such crimes to the jews.he was a FREAK, made soap and broomstick from them, what a CREEP !!
haha get your facts straight, arabs didnt avenge anyone. i remember a hotel blowing up in 1948 with 90 english service men, done by terrorist jews !hahaha that should teach them to help zionists hahahaha
HAHAHAHA!! The best butcher of Jews suicided in 1945. Then the Arab countries wanted to avenge him in 1948. And what happened ? This time, the victim did not want to cooperate!
We had the chance to meet with, Dr. Ghazi Hamed Hamed, a representative from Hammas. He is by far one of the most interesting and suprising people I have met here. Calm, well spoken, and very upfront. He spoke frankly, and gave us a picture of Hammas that we would never imagine in the West.
so your new in the middle east , the best butchers of jews arnt the muslims you know. its the christian army that had slaughtered them from Acre to Berlin.
and as for the second Libanon war, we see the tide is turning and world opinion.
one would say, the IDF of 1960 isnt the IDF of today.
mossad also lost its edge, by abusing German,English and Australian passports. 1 mossad agent got arrested for using a wanted passport in Poland hahaha who is that stupid !!! hahahaaha
Here Tamara, a 25-year-old mother from the Los Angeles area who belongs to "Los Angeles Jews for a Just Peace" and who traveled to Israel to work as an ISM volunteer, reports on a lecture from a "calm, well-spoken" Hamas representative who told the audience of International Solidarity Movement volunteers that he does not endorse suicide bombings:
Unfortunately for you, the dreams of Islam ruling the world (the new Caliphate) are only dreams. Oil money bought you some time before this religion desintegrates in tribal wars.
but hmm, if israel conquers the rest of palestine, then that would mean the end of israel as a jewish state. because in a democracy the palestinians would get israeli citizenship and voting rights, they will get more power in the israeli parlement, unless the jews want to resort to racist and an apartheid tactics, not likely, israeli arabs do vote !! then absorbing palestine is bad for israel :D
According to the New York Times, "Palestinians euphemize terror attacks, calling them 'resistance operations.' More extreme Palestinian elements argue that Israel has no civilians... Palestinians rarely use the word 'terrorism.'"
A radical-left campus culture that assumes that the United States bears primary responsibility for the atrocity of 9/11 is foreign to most Americans, and when dealing with a foreign culture, it is necessary to learn to understand the local dialect.
On the left side of most American campuses, the received wisdom is that of all the peoples on earth, it is the Palestinians who are the most oppressed, and America and Israel are the world's most oppressive regimes.
ISM members are part of a political culture that believes that terrorism is the result of U.S. foreign policy and/or of poverty caused by capitalism. This political culture is impervious to the evidence that shows that terrorism is spawned by ideology, not by poverty. It is a culture that leads young Americans, taught by Movement rhetoric to blame their own country for Islamist terrorism, to attempt to save the world by going to the aid of the people that American power is oppressing.
AIPAC also organises letter-writing campaigns and encourages newspaper editors to endorse pro-Israel candidates.
Money is critical to US elections (as the scandal over the lobbyist Jack Abramoff’s shady dealings reminds us), and AIPAC makes sure that its friends get strong financial support from the many pro-Israel political action committees.
Anyone who is seen as hostile to Israel can be sure that AIPAC will direct campaign contributions to his or her political opponents. AIPAC also organises letter-writing campaigns and encourages newspaper editors to endorse pro-Israel candidates.
There is no doubt about the efficacy of these tactics.
There is no doubt about the efficacy of these tactics.
in the 1984 elections, AIPAC helped defeat Senator Charles Percy from Illinois, who, according to a prominent Lobby figure, had ‘displayed insensitivity and even hostility to our concerns’. Thomas Dine, the head of AIPAC at the time, explained what happened: ‘All the Jews in America, from coast to coast, gathered to oust Percy. And the American politicians – those who hold public positions now, and those who aspire – got the message.’
It encourages Americans to "ask what it is about our country that generates such hostility and resentment in many parts of the world. We need to understand and address the global poverty and hopelessness on which terrorism feeds. We must in addition take responsibility for the U.S. policies that support or contribute to these conditions."
But the ISM and the American Friends Service Committee are also intending to say that even if this attack was carried out by Islamist terrorists, surely "the cause" must lie elsewhere. The next paragraph tells us where.
Neo-conservative gentiles such as John Bolton; Robert Bartley, the former Wall Street Journal editor; William Bennett, the former secretary of education; Jeane Kirkpatrick, the former UN ambassador; and the influential columnist George Will are also steadfast supporters.
They enjoy a disproportionate amount of influence when they are committed to an issue to which the bulk of the population is indifferent. Policymakers will tend to accommodate those who care about the issue, even if their numbers are small, confident that the rest of the population will not penalise them for doing so.
The Lobby pursues two broad strategies. First, it wields its significant influence in Washington, pressuring both Congress and the executive branch. Whatever an individual lawmaker or policymaker’s own views may be, the Lobby tries to make supporting Israel the ‘smart’ choice
Second, it strives to ensure that public discourse portrays Israel in a positive light, by repeating myths about its founding and by promoting its point of view in policy debates. The goal is to prevent critical comments from getting a fair hearing in the political arena. Controlling the debate is essential to guaranteeing US support, because a candid discussion of US-Israeli relations might lead Americans to favour a different policy.
The Lobby also includes prominent Christian evangelicals like Gary Bauer, Jerry Falwell, Ralph Reed and Pat Robertson, as well as Dick Armey and Tom DeLay, former majority leaders in the House of Representatives, all of whom believe Israel’s rebirth is the fulfilment of biblical prophecy and support its expansionist agenda; to do otherwise, they believe, would be contrary to God’s will.
Something of the way ISM members think is revealed in the statement regarding 9/11 posted on the web site of the Colorado Campaign for Middle East Peace and cosigned by the American Friends Service Committee. "We must not repeat the mistakes of the past by targeting those who may look like or share a similar-sounding name, religion or ethnic background with those perceived to be the cause of this suffering."
Kates and Sharaf "hold tight to the idea that there are no Israeli civilians and when confronted with "even the kids?" the reply was "yes, everyone's fair game". The suicide bombers applauded by the ISM kill children, of course, but it is Movement policy to couch support for the targeting of Israeli children in code words like "armed resistance."
Again, the Movement already asserts as much by referring to all of Israel as "occupied" land; so it must have been the explicit statement that 'moderates' objected to, not the idea being expressed. The third issue was similarly about language, not substance.
The split came over the desire of Kates and Sharaf to invite Hamas to Solidarity Movement meetings (which the International Solidarity Movement in Israel in fact already does) and over their desire to amend the Mission Statement to read "Israel has no right to exist."
The bulk of US Jewry, meanwhile, is more inclined to make concessions to the Palestinians, and a few groups – such as Jewish Voice for Peace – strongly advocate such steps
Jewish Americans also differ on specific Israeli policies. Many of the key organisations in the Lobby, such as the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organisations, are run by hardliners who generally support the Likud Party’s expansionist policies, including its hostility to the Oslo peace process.
His critics said that ‘it would be obscene at any time for the president of the World Jewish Congress to lobby the president of the United States to resist policies being promoted by the government of Israel.’
Edgar Bronfman Sr, the president of the World Jewish Congress, was accused of ‘perfidy’ when he wrote a letter to President Bush in mid-2003 urging him to persuade Israel to curb construction of its controversial ‘security fence’.
As one activist from a major Jewish organisation wrote, ‘it is routine for us to say: “This is our policy on a certain issue, but we must check what the Israelis think.” We as a community do it all the time.’ There is a strong prejudice against criticising Israeli policy, and putting pressure on Israel is considered out of order.
The decision to quit the International Solidarity Movement in favor of Al Awda was taken by New Jersey Solidarity leaders Charlotte Kates and Summer Sharaf, either because they held more radical views than other ISM members or because they wanted to express their views more frankly.
Israel’s backers portray it as a country that has sought peace at every turn and shown great restraint even when provoked. The Arabs, by contrast, are said to have acted with great wickedness. Yet on the ground, Israel’s record is not distinguishable from that of its opponents.
It is also worth bearing in mind that the Zionists relied on terrorist bombs to drive the British from Palestine, and that Yitzhak Shamir, once a terrorist and later prime minister, declared that ‘neither Jewish ethics nor Jewish tradition can disqualify terrorism as a means of combat.’
’ The IDF fired one million bullets in the first days of the uprising. Since then, for every Israeli lost, Israel has killed 3.4 Palestinians, the majority of whom have been innocent bystanders; the ratio of Palestinian to Israeli children killed is even higher (5.7:1).
The response to the second intifada has been even more violent, leading Ha’aretz to declare that ‘the IDF … is turning into a killing machine whose efficiency is awe-inspiring, yet shocking.
During the first intifada, the IDF distributed truncheons to its troops and encouraged them to break the bones of Palestinian protesters. The Swedish branch of Save the Children estimated that ‘23,600 to 29,900 children required medical treatment for their beating injuries in the first two years of the intifada.’ Nearly a third of them were aged ten or under.
Rebels killed nine soldiers in a raid on an outpost near the Iraqi border early on Saturday, in the deadliest attack against the Turkish military since April 2009, when nine soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb that was blamed on the PKK.
There has been a sharp increase in the number of recent clashes with the PKK.
On Friday the Turkish military said it had killed about 120 Kurdish rebels since March, while 43 members of the Turkish security forces had also died.
PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Saturday's "cowardly" assaults would not end Turkey's determination to fight the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) "to the end".
Last year, the Turkish government announced a new initiative to end the conflict and to address the grievances of the Kurdish minority, but it never produced the promised package of measures, and now appears to have abandoned the initiative, correspondents say.
The PKK began its armed struggle against the Turkish government in 1984, calling for a Kurdish homeland within Turkey. More than 40,000 people have been killed in the resulting conflict.
Turkey has urged Iraq's Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to expel the 2,000 PKK fighters believed to be based in its territory, saying it must promote efforts to curb the banned group's activities.
Interesting quote from the article "Israeli hires Internet soldiers":
"......Our people will not say: ‘Hello, I am from the policy-explanation department of the Israeli Foreign Ministry and I want to tell you the following.’ Nor will they necessarily identify themselves as Israelis. They will speak as net-surfers and as citizens, and will write responses that will look personal but will be based on a prepared list of messages that the Foreign Ministry developed.”
Israel's "democracy"...... unlike any other. It's "special"... it's an opposite/bizarro world where occupiers blame the victims, where policies of Ambiguity explain away the need for NNPT participation, where land grab, oppression, massacre, bombing and illegal, immoral murders happen in the open seas.
With this sort of action Israelis are squandering the international good will that settled them in Israel after WW2, and that has contributed enormously to maintaining them there.
The priority now surely must be for Israel to reinvent itself as a responsible member of the international community, before it is too late.
The tragedy is that the Jewish people, who suffered such persecution over the centuries, so much so in World War 2 that the world said it must never happen again, have indeed become their own worst enemy.
That Israel has shown itself to be unable to imagine the suffering that it inflicts upon others may be some sort of tragic corollary or lagged reaction to the Holocaust, who knows? But it holds the seeds of another diaspora.
The PKK, meanwhile, said Turkey wanted to "take us towards war" rather than dealing with the "Kurdish issue" peacefully.
"We will take our operations to all Turkish cities if the government continues its attacks against us," PKK spokesman Ahmed Denis told AFP news agency.
Rebels killed nine soldiers in a raid on an outpost near the Iraqi border early on Saturday, in the deadliest attack against the Turkish military since April 2009, when nine soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb that was blamed on the PKK.
Israel will be desperate to prevent this, as even Lieberman will realise that Israeli ships being delayed from docking in San Francisco the cutting of contracts worth 3% of Israel's GDP by Turkey and increased calls for divestment sanctions and boycotts will make the Israeli project unsustainable.
If Israel has done nothing wrong, then Israel should welcome any number of enquiries. This is more an attempt to try and stop the Flotillas, as the more that occur the bigger the chances that 31/5 will occur again.
If Iran allows inspection by the IAEA of its nuclear energy installation then why does Israel refuse to allow the IAEA to inspect its nuclear weapons installation?
Why is Israel not a signatory to the Non-proliferation Treaty? Why does Israel, of all the US-supported states in the world, refuse to allow the IAEA of the UN to inspect its nuclear weapons?
this is how netanyahu works: ease the gaza blockade, and while all eyes are on that, raze a neighborhood to make a tourist center. anyone who supports israel should be condemning this sleight of hand. it is absurd, inhumane, illegal, punitive and unnecessary.
I urge all palestinians and their supporters to continue their boycotts, peaceful protests and resistance to violent opposition. it stands in stark contrast to netanyahu's foolishness.
The easing of blockade means that people in Gaza can now get drawing paper and pencils...Fine tuning of a failed policy will only produce more fine-tuned failures. It is time for a new approach. Let's lift the siege and treat our neighbors with respect.
In more than one way, the relationships of Turkey with the PKK are the same as those of Israel with Hamas and Hezbollah. And while the reaction of Turkey has been similar and with a relative greater number of deaths on the Kurdish side, there has been no reaction whatsoever from the UN establishment.
Last year, the Turkish government announced a new initiative to end the conflict and to address the grievances of the Kurdish minority, but it never produced the promised package of measures, and now appears to have abandoned the initiative, correspondents say.
The PKK is officially branded a terrorist organisation by the US and European Union.

Groups of Jewish Israeli citizens were bused in to cheer the spectacle of the state-sanctioned "ethnic cleansing." What's very shocking is that the Jewish state enlisted the services of young Jews in wreaking destruction. Teenage volunteers with the police civilian guard emptied the Palestinian-Israeli houses and "smashed windows and mirrors in their homes and defaced family photographs with crude drawings."
flumoxed2 1 year ago

A newly revealed tape of Netanyahu in 2001, being interviewed while he thinks the cameras are off, shows him in a radically different light.
In it, Netanyahu dismisses American foreign policy as easy to maneuver, boasts of having derailed the Oslo accords with political trickery, and suggests that the only way to deal with the Palestinians is to “beat them up, not once but repeatedly, beat them up so it hurts so badly, until it’s unbearable”

Money is critical to US elections (as the scandal over the lobbyist Jack Abramoff’s shady dealings reminds us), and AIPAC makes sure that its friends get strong financial support from the many pro-Israel political action committees.
flumoxed2 1 year ago
Anyone who is seen as hostile to Israel can be sure that AIPAC will direct campaign contributions to his or her political opponents. AIPAC also organises letter-writing campaigns and encourages newspaper editors to endorse pro-Israel candidates.
There is no doubt about the efficacy of these tactics.
flumoxed2 1 year ago
There is no doubt about the efficacy of these tactics.
in the 1984 elections, AIPAC helped defeat Senator Charles Percy from Illinois, who, according to a prominent Lobby figure, had ‘displayed insensitivity and even hostility to our concerns’. Thomas Dine, the head of AIPAC at the time, explained what happened: ‘All the Jews in America, from coast to coast, gathered to oust Percy. And the American politicians – those who hold public positions now, and those who aspire – got the message.’
flumoxed2 1 year ago
It encourages Americans to "ask what it is about our country that generates such hostility and resentment in many parts of the world. We need to understand and address the global poverty and hopelessness on which terrorism feeds. We must in addition take responsibility for the U.S. policies that support or contribute to these conditions."
sion5509 1 year ago
But the ISM and the American Friends Service Committee are also intending to say that even if this attack was carried out by Islamist terrorists, surely "the cause" must lie elsewhere. The next paragraph tells us where.
sion5509 1 year ago
Neo-conservative gentiles such as John Bolton; Robert Bartley, the former Wall Street Journal editor; William Bennett, the former secretary of education; Jeane Kirkpatrick, the former UN ambassador; and the influential columnist George Will are also steadfast supporters.
flumoxed2 1 year ago
They enjoy a disproportionate amount of influence when they are committed to an issue to which the bulk of the population is indifferent. Policymakers will tend to accommodate those who care about the issue, even if their numbers are small, confident that the rest of the population will not penalise them for doing so.
flumoxed2 1 year ago
The Lobby pursues two broad strategies. First, it wields its significant influence in Washington, pressuring both Congress and the executive branch. Whatever an individual lawmaker or policymaker’s own views may be, the Lobby tries to make supporting Israel the ‘smart’ choice
flumoxed2 1 year ago
Second, it strives to ensure that public discourse portrays Israel in a positive light, by repeating myths about its founding and by promoting its point of view in policy debates. The goal is to prevent critical comments from getting a fair hearing in the political arena. Controlling the debate is essential to guaranteeing US support, because a candid discussion of US-Israeli relations might lead Americans to favour a different policy.
flumoxed2 1 year ago
The Lobby also includes prominent Christian evangelicals like Gary Bauer, Jerry Falwell, Ralph Reed and Pat Robertson, as well as Dick Armey and Tom DeLay, former majority leaders in the House of Representatives, all of whom believe Israel’s rebirth is the fulfilment of biblical prophecy and support its expansionist agenda; to do otherwise, they believe, would be contrary to God’s will.
flumoxed2 1 year ago
Something of the way ISM members think is revealed in the statement regarding 9/11 posted on the web site of the Colorado Campaign for Middle East Peace and cosigned by the American Friends Service Committee. "We must not repeat the mistakes of the past by targeting those who may look like or share a similar-sounding name, religion or ethnic background with those perceived to be the cause of this suffering."
sion5509 1 year ago
Kates and Sharaf "hold tight to the idea that there are no Israeli civilians and when confronted with "even the kids?" the reply was "yes, everyone's fair game". The suicide bombers applauded by the ISM kill children, of course, but it is Movement policy to couch support for the targeting of Israeli children in code words like "armed resistance."
sion5509 1 year ago
Again, the Movement already asserts as much by referring to all of Israel as "occupied" land; so it must have been the explicit statement that 'moderates' objected to, not the idea being expressed. The third issue was similarly about language, not substance.
sion5509 1 year ago
The split came over the desire of Kates and Sharaf to invite Hamas to Solidarity Movement meetings (which the International Solidarity Movement in Israel in fact already does) and over their desire to amend the Mission Statement to read "Israel has no right to exist."
sion5509 1 year ago
So if neither strategic nor moral arguments can account for America’s support for Israel, how are we to explain it?
flumoxed2 1 year ago
. As Ehud Barak once admitted, had he been born a Palestinian, he ‘would have joined a terrorist organisation’.

The Palestinian resort to terrorism is wrong but it isn’t surprising. The Palestinians believe they have no other way to force Israeli concessions

. Despite these differences, moderates and hardliners both favour giving steadfast support to Israel.

The bulk of US Jewry, meanwhile, is more inclined to make concessions to the Palestinians, and a few groups – such as Jewish Voice for Peace – strongly advocate such steps
flumoxed2 1 year ago
Jewish Americans also differ on specific Israeli policies. Many of the key organisations in the Lobby, such as the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organisations, are run by hardliners who generally support the Likud Party’s expansionist policies, including its hostility to the Oslo peace process.

His critics said that ‘it would be obscene at any time for the president of the World Jewish Congress to lobby the president of the United States to resist policies being promoted by the government of Israel.’

Edgar Bronfman Sr, the president of the World Jewish Congress, was accused of ‘perfidy’ when he wrote a letter to President Bush in mid-2003 urging him to persuade Israel to curb construction of its controversial ‘security fence’.
flumoxed2 1 year ago
As one activist from a major Jewish organisation wrote, ‘it is routine for us to say: “This is our policy on a certain issue, but we must check what the Israelis think.” We as a community do it all the time.’ There is a strong prejudice against criticising Israeli policy, and putting pressure on Israel is considered out of order.

If Iran allows inspection by the IAEA of its nuclear energy installation then why does Israel refuse to allow the IAEA to inspect its nuclear weapons installation?

this is how netanyahu works: ease the gaza blockade, and while all eyes are on that, raze a neighborhood to make a tourist center. anyone who supports israel should be condemning this sleight of hand. it is absurd, inhumane, illegal, punitive and unnecessary.
I urge all palestinians and their supporters to continue their boycotts, peaceful protests and resistance to violent opposition. it stands in stark contrast to netanyahu's foolishness.
