I am Brazilian and here in my country is completely prohibited a teacher or any school official physically attacking a student. I find it absurd that in a modern and developed country like the United States is still allowed in almost half the states that a student may be punished with corporal punishment.
But if a student constantly continues to get referrals and detentions what next? suspend him for 10 days. than another suspension? What is your opinion about the student, what should be the consequence? Corporal punishment is a great deterrent.
Hey, you bring up good points, but unfortunately, your arguement falls down flat on it face. First of all, you ask how about if a student gets detentions and referrals that it should lead to legalized assault and battery. Google this, Possitive discipline. That should do the trick. Detentions would be unnecessary. Second, the rod you continuously refer has been understood by most bible scholars as a shepard's rod, not a beating rod. The shepard's rod was used to protect and guide the sheep.
Well, you still didn't answer the question. For ANY SINGLE ANTI CORP. PUNISHMENT.
if a student constantly continues to get referrals and detentions what next? suspend him for 10 days. than another suspension? What is your opinion about the student, what should be the consequence?
I know that I would be fucking terrified to see corporal punishment done on me. But put this in your mind
I don't think I made myself clear last time, but here it is:
"POSITIVE DISCIPLINE!"
Please look that up before making an idiotic comment like that, it makes you ignorant. To answer your second of getting in a fight and being caught on camera, I've got to ask you, where did they learn that the way of solving comflict is through violence. After all teachers, parents, etc are the biggest role models for children's behaviors. So, I've got to question where they got that behavior.
Where did they get that behavior? You teach a child at an early age the difference between right and wrong so they don't screw up there life in the future.
When you use a gun or a knife you cause permanent damage considered child abuse, When you use a paddle its considered corporal punishment (just giving an example)
Now i talk about fighting because its an easy example. Kids will usauly fight for NO GOOD REASON. JUST TO BOOST THERE REP IN SCHOOL.
Google it yourself. I think they have a website. That is 1 of several methods where hitting is not allowed. I gave you the example of knives and guns to show you don't always need a paddle to gain compliance. I could have easily get it with these items. After all, anyone will obey if threaten with violence, children included.
You do bring up a ligitament question with your bringing up of video games and the media today, but you have to understand something.
Video games are fantacy and most children/adults understand this, but what you don't seem to grasp is that paddling is real, it's happening to them and they can relate to it more. So, children are more prone to model their behavior after the hitter, afterall it is real and you have given and taught their is moral justification to use violence. In other words, video games and the media is a smokescreen to take away from the real issue. Look this video up, video games, TV, and Guns to learn more.
Now with your example. I probably wouldn't do again, but it would only be in fear of getting hit rather than learning what I did was wrong. Look this up, internal Vs external control. When you use external factors to change one's behavior, it is the lowest you can go. The lesson is not learned, but a fear of getting caught. This is why spanked children learn to be sneeky about their behavior in their fear of pain.
A fear of getting caught? A fear of getting caught???????? There would be no fear of getting caught if there was Corporal punishment. Cause they would never do it.
Now in your words. I'm not gonna look up on a website. Define positive discipline.
Hate to say this, but your ignorance in child development and psychology shines brighter than the daytime sky. Before you respond, please do some research and get yourself educated.
'Positive Discipline' Ballcap certainly does not involve a 3 ft board being applied to the backside of a child.
It has been proven time and time again that children can are raised without hitting. The Top 100 US schools in the US have no Corporal Punishment policy....at all! Why is that Ballcap?
And what about the other million + that don't have corporal punishment that need help with behavior issues?
The idea is to ban corporal punishment in schools, Back in the day like 50 years ago 70 years, YOUR ASS WOULD BE GRASS, IF YOU ACTED THE WAY YOU WOULD IN SCHOOL THE WAY IT IS NOW.
AND 50 to 70 YEARS AGO PEOPLE DIDNT WEAR HELMUTS ON BIKES AND PEOPLE SMOKED AROUND CHILDREN AND BOTH MY PARENTS DRANK AND DROVE A CAR......but i turned out ok....but things could have been different
And explain to me why recently a little 5 year old girl was paddled twice in one day for barking like a dog in the school cafeteria? She had to have counselling as a result of her oh so loving beating....
I agree! You can also add that many top celebrities have molested as children and most if not all turned out okay, but hey it could have been different.
I have not seen the story on the news or plan to look it up, Paddling does not cause serious injury at all, if anything makes you sore for maybe 3 days 4 days, Neither does it cause bleeding. Now as I have said before, they teach children at an early age not to do bad things so they don't mess up there life, in the near future for them. "She had to have counselling as a result of her oh so loving beating.... " First of all I don't enjoy corporal punishment,
my family doesn't enjoy corporal punishment and the world doesn't enjoy corporal punishment.
corporal punishment is defined as intentional infliction of physical pain as a method of changing behavior. "Infliction of physical pain" "change behavior".
Why did she have to have counselling? for what reason? Where on the news is this? Whats your sited resource? Where did this happen? When did it happen?
The little girl was 5 years old., She was beaten once and after it was determined she was not hit hard enough, she was sent back in to be paddled again
She had extensive couselling, as she was afraid to be around teachers OR go to school.
Her name is Courtney Biggers and attended a Macon County school
hehe you state "oh so loving corporal punishment again" Now, damage caused over time is not considered corporal punishment, it's considered child abuse, When corporal punishment is given to a student there are usualy 3 or 4 people and fellow students to see what could happen to them if they mess up. There is a difference between corporal punishment and child abuse. When you state that you have scars from corporal punishment I and many other people in the world would understand that person was
So, where do you draw that invisible line in the sand ballcap between 'hurt' and 'injure' when paddling a child, ESPECIALLY when not one teacher has been instructed or given information as to what that child (namely the one who shot his father DEAD) is going through.
No, not that....i said how do you draw that invisible line in the sand Or how does one (teacher) know when he or she has hit too hard and caused damage YET still inflicted pain? Pain being the obvious expectation of the teacher/principal.
Did you know that even when parents sign a Do not hit paper, some of their kids have still been hit?
Did you know alot of parents are not even aware there is a Corporal Punishment policy at their school(s)
AND, 2 years ago, an 18 year old girl was Restrained and paddled by a teacher in Texas.
She was an Adult and that proves that teachers are ill equipped in even knowing the students age let alone what is going on in that childs life! ! ! >
I understand you want kids to grow up healthy and happy, SO DO I. and of course kids need discipline. But discipline does not have to mean hitting a child with a 3ft wooden or plastic board.
The Top 100 US schools have no Corporal Punishment policies.
The only schools who still have this policy is the lower US States and they consist of low income, mainly BLACK students.
...and btw, i am NOT against mom or dad giving junior a swat on the bottom to get away from the stove or away from the road. But leave that to the parents and NOT for the most part, a stranger ie: Teacher(s)
It's not that, Behavior changes A LOT when children go to school, Many people think.....Not saying there wrong. But many think it's the same behavior girls have the general same respectful behavior but boys are al ot more tense, and more willing to test the teacher"s".
Really, I live in California, where paddling was banned by the time of my birth, so I never got to see it happen, but remember, more people have been hurt through this form of loving discipline than helped. I have spoken to many people who have fallen victim to this form of abuse and have either felt worthless or complete resentment towards the punisher. In fact it's gone so far as a group of teachers who like to talk about their beating habbits on the internett, if that's not sick, what is?
They in fact live in your neck of the woods, Georgia. So just remember, if a kid is acting up, stop and really think hard what's going on his/her life. Maybe the parents are just as responsible because the kid learned the same behaviors from them. Just stop and think.
So, you've decided to come back? Did you decide to get educated before coming? Obviously from your most recent post the answer is a firm, "No."
As for the little girl that is being referenced, her name is Courtney Biggers. There is a story on her, just google it. Second, you claim that corporal punishment is need to teach good from bad behavior is just laughable. To look at this, just ask yourself if President Obama's children are being beaten in school?
If that were the case, I garentee you that it would be an issue of national security, it would be on every news station and the practice would probably be brought to an end. It is not needed for a child's development. As you stated to me, when you were being slapped, you felt like punching someone. That's the same reaction students have when being paddled, but they can't foolow through on their urges except for a select few. I'll tell you about it in the next post.
Mitchel Johnson went on a shooting spree in his Arkansas Middle School, killing 4 students and 1 teacher. In later reports, reporters learned that Mitchel was paddled the day before and the teacher who he killed was the same teacher who paddled him. How did corporal punishment help him? There was also a case of a 9 year old boy in Arazona who shot his Dad to get even for his 1000th spanking. The boy who kept a written record promised that his 1000th would be the last.
So let me lay it down to you in plain english, if I haven't made myself clear yet, corporal punishment has been proven to be harmful. Any educated person would side with the evidence. Only those entrenched with the hitting habbit would do otherwhise. So, I'll play your little game, in your minde and think really hard, how did corporal punishment help the two people I mentioned? 1 will be fatherless as resort of getting even and the other is in jail for other reasons, but it still follows him.
a disruptive student in his class. Teachers don't just go up to a student and paddle them, they have to have a reason. If that reason is for something wrong they did damn, that sucks for them. When people say that have scars from corporal punishment. As I like stated a second ago. It is obvious that was a student who disrupted school.
I WANT THE WHOLE DAMN LIST OF IT, I WANT THE NAME DOB WHERE THIS HAPPENED, WHEN IT OCURED, WHO WAS THE KID, DID HE HAVE MENTAL ISSUES, I WANT THE (I know this is hard, for you I've noticed cause after so many times asking I can see) I WANT TO KNOW HOW YOU GOT THIS INFORMATION.
If your child (if you have any) is hurt or injured by a teacher did you know: teachers and principals have immunity from all civil and criminal liability arising from corporal punishment SO effectively and unconstitutionally denies students and parents the legal remedies
You are so ignorant, I'm starting to wonder corporal punishment helped you much, if anything taught you to be lazy. If you can't even google what I'm talking about, look it up on youtube, but since you insist, I will tell you.
Possitive Discipline:
Developed by Dr. Jane Nelsen, where mistakes are seen as oppurtunities for learning. No hitting, swatting, paddling, caning, spanking allow. For the rest, God, please google it.
HAHA, well to start, if you have not noticed we are kinda in a debate, you fight your evidence with mine I look up some of your evidence and call it bullshit and wipe my ass with it, and some I can't fight....not that I'm lazy. Now when I was a kid, not to long ago, I was slapped for doing wrong things, (running into the middle of the street, talking when im not supposed to) I wanted to punch back when I got slapped, but i knew the consequence if I did, My ass would be grass.
So you got slapped? Ok, so please enlighten us as to how and why recently a child who after being spanked by his father REPEATEDLY, entered his fathers room and SHOT DEAD his father after having enough? Think that was ok?
What if that had happened at school, and dont say it doesnt happen...
"So you got slapped? Ok, so please enlighten us as to how and why recently a child who after being spanked by his father REPEATEDLY, entered his fathers room and SHOT DEAD his father after having enough? Think that was ok?
What if that had happened at school, and dont say it doesnt happen... " Sited resource and sited resource for what you are saying about "courtney biggers"
He told police he had been hit five times on the night before the shootings because he did not bring home some papers from school, taking the total over the crucial 1,000 mark.
The kid COULD have been hit at school,
Think those teachers would have known what was coming ballcap? Really, do you?
I knew that doing what I did was wrong and if i wanted to feel the pain then hey go do something your not supposed to do. When a child messes up, does something wrong, NOW THEY KNOW "HEY I'M NOT FUCKING DO THAT CAUSE I'M SCREWED IF I GET CAUGHT" Now I am a student right now, and I know for a fact Corporal punishment works. I've had corporal punishment done on me at my school and I as well, my fellow school mates knew the consequence of our actions.
its not off of a role model its off of what kids want to do to look cool. So trust me when i say that corporal punishment "violence" is not the cause of how they get through a conflict. if anything you would understand that (for 1) Video games would be a great cause of fights in school, not corporal punishment.
Now I probably did not hear your answer or I just didn't understand it.
Now in your mind, in your opinion, right now, just imagine. I know this is gonna be hard but just imagine. You were a 13 14 or 15 year old in middle or high school, You went to go fight someone, got you on camera. Paddle 3 times. Wanna fight again? knowing the pain you will receive if you do?
Get caught fighting?? And then get HIT for fighting?? What the hell does that solve but perhaps piss that student off even more for the next time in a fight!
Ever think that CHILD may be getting the supreme shit kicked out of him at home and THIS is why he/she is acting up?
Teachers do NOT know what is going on in that childs life so Corporal Punishment should be banned. Period!
One more than, npleas look this up, internal Vs external control. That's why people use shame and fear to discipline students. Also, I can get the same result with a gun or knife, rather than a paddle.
I would be terrified if I had corp. pun done to me personally, i would also know that WHAT EVER THE FUCK I DID WAS WRONG WRONG WRONG, and for no reason would i want to ever do what i did again.
Some rods had a pointed tip to guard off foxes, wolves, and other enemies of the flock. Since we live in NT times, could you imagine Jesus ever beating any of the sheep in his care? In fact Jesus even said that people would be better off throwing themselves into the sea rather than causing his little children to offend (sin) wich child beating causes. Finally you left out other passages of the Bible that you don't seem to support. One of wich comes from the Book of Deuteronomy:
If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son, who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they chastise him, will not give heed to them, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives, and they shall say to the elders of the city, " This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard."
Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones; son you shall purge the evil from your midst; and all Israel shall hear and fear.
You can also include the many wrongs Solomon committed such as having 300 wives and 700 cocubines. So, if you want to find good Christian values by wich you want your kids raised by, you can do a whole lot better than Solomon could ever.
BTW, its not the first time we have gone against the Constitution.....we go against the 8th amendment with capital punishment. So, to be true, to argue Corporal punishment is against the constitution is a wrong choice to argue cause the U.S. government has yet to do anything about that.
When we fail to hold our government accountable to upholding the Constitution which is their sworn duty to perform, then We The People are equally at fault for the violated law(s). We are then basically nothing more than a lawless nation--one where the government fails to adhere to the Law of the Land and "the People" fail to call them on it. We live in a "Democracy" not a tyrannical system. Our government sees our weak response to their lack of upholding the law and...
If anything corporal punishment should not be something you should worry about if were violating the amendments, I would think you would pay more attention to Capital Punishment, so you should not bring the amendments into this.
just because it's banned in schools doesn't mean it's banned everywhere else, once a child messes up in school and the parents are notified, s/he is going to get it at home anyway.
Violence in the world today starts with parents who continue the horrible abuse they received as children. Can't we start a school class on parenting in every single school all over the world to teach kids how to discipline their kids properly later on when they have kids or demand every new parent to attend a parenting seminar before their first child is born -- there is 9 months for them to learn the right way to raise a child after all.
Corporal punishment is just fine if administered responsibly and fairly. Schools should NOTIFY the student's PARENT(S) BEFORE using corporal punishment and the punishment should be administered AWAY from the eyes and ears of the other students and with at least one other adult witness at hand if the parent cannot attend.
2. You were able to fight the pain and all the negative effects of CP.
Just to let you know,
Almost all the medical society and a majority of the psychological community are against it's use. Please be more educated in Child Dep. before commenting and do some research please.
ok, so spanking a child and smoking and molesting are the same, eh? whatever. I don't think there is anything wrong with not spanking, but that idea that spanking a child is evil is rediculous. I haven't had to spank my child yet, but If the time comes when I think I have to, I will. I don't listen to scientists when I make decisions. All those expiriments can be made to come out however they want. It isn't that hard to manipulate them.
Agreed, however, if an overwhelming amount of people in the educated world of child development and psychology disagree with it's use, then that tells us something.
I will not listen to scientist about how I will raise my kid,
That's okay, as long as you take what they say into consideration. Psychologist have been studying this one issue for almost 35 years, so I think they know what they are talking about. Whatever method you use, use it responsibly
BTW, Using CP on your own kid is totally irrelevant to this conversation. We're talking about schools using it wich is totally barberic and their would be no way in hell that I would let a total stranger have any right to hit my kid whatsoever. I know parents that use CP, my parents use it regularly and I respect their decision to use it although I strongly disagree with it personally because of scientific and imperical evidence that shows its harmfulness.
The reason I shot those 3 arguements at you is because I wanted to show you that your logic doesn't work. Saying you smoked and turned out okay doesn't warrent that smoking is okay.
Please read Plain Talk about Spanking and the statisics on my website,
The Hitting Stops Here dot comm.
I hope you do so before hitting your child.
People smoke and turn out okay; they ride without seatbelts and turnout okay; and drop their cell phones repeatedly and they turn out okay too. Turning out okay is something that is beside the point of what is best for our children. Hitting poisons love. If we can give our children the best, then why not.
I don't know why you people keep talking to me. it is real simple. you do not believe in spanking, I do. so be it. we both have the right to feel that way. You have a right to not spank, and I have a right to spank. It is when nosy busybodies try to get the government involved in how I raise my kid is when it has got to stop. luckily, that hasn't happened. yet. bottom line, I am gonna raise my kid how I see fit, and you can do the same.
Wow...really?!? Hopefully violence will someday be viewed as wrong for all things living. The only way violence can ever be justified is when the object being subjected to violence can be classified as property. This was true of women and slaves. And yes the "government" had to intervene in these issues to correct them because they were held as true by so many members of society. I doubt you would say that slavery or the repression of women were ever a good thing...hopefully the same for kids
Please, we are trying to save children from the fear of being assaulted and battered that you enjoy. It's not a liberal issue, it's a human rights issue and as long as everyone doesn't understand this, children will be subjected to assault and battery everytime they go to school
Yes it is, have you looked up the definition of battery? Paddleing is just a sugar-coded way of saying it. CP doesn't work and we have science on our side to prove it, looks like we win!
When your're an art teacher and your student tells you " I don't want to do this shit you dumb bitch!", that's when a good ass whooping is needed. And on another note, The worthless parents of these kids need to get controll before the teachers should have to. this all the more reason that people should have to have a license to have kids because a lot of parents can't take care of themselves let alone raise a kid. Bottom line, if you do what your suppost to do then you don't get in trouble.
Violence has not and will never be the answer. 2. You don't know why that child is acting up, it could be for a number of reasons that you don't know that you may not have the time to understand. Instead of an ass whoopin' that you talk about, try words, they're very effective if used correctly. I'll return the favor. If dogs do what they're told they wouldn't get in trouble. Can you hit your dog if they do something wrong?
You are right. It is a sugar-coated way and we all know how bad sugar is for the body.
If you are able to support my work in any way, please visit the front page of my website and click on "Volunteering" and "Help Support Our Work." Please spread the word. Children in these toxic environments need our help.

Both violate the 14th amendment "equal protection" law of every US citizen.
When the 14th amendment law is upheld, nobody gets hurt.
Ballcap, please read the first 3 pages of the GAO, ACLU and UC Davis Law Review. All are located on our website at the very top.

There is a difference between corporal punishment and child abuse. When you state that you have scars from corporal punishment I and many other people in the world would understand that person was
Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
So, where do you draw that invisible line in the sand ballcap between 'hurt' and 'injure' when paddling a child, ESPECIALLY when not one teacher has been instructed or given information as to what that child (namely the one who shot his father DEAD) is going through.
fitasafiddle123 2 years ago
what do you mean? You want me to tell you the difference between hurt and injure?
Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
No, not that....i said how do you draw that invisible line in the sand Or how does one (teacher) know when he or she has hit too hard and caused damage YET still inflicted pain? Pain being the obvious expectation of the teacher/principal.
Did you get your PM message?
fitasafiddle123 2 years ago
When corporal punishment is given, It's not How does one (teacher), It's moniterd by several people. Students, and several teachers.
Yes I did
Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
No no, not so fast.
fitasafiddle123 2 years ago
Listen ballcap,
I understand you want kids to grow up healthy and happy, SO DO I. and of course kids need discipline. But discipline does not have to mean hitting a child with a 3ft wooden or plastic board.
The Top 100 US schools have no Corporal Punishment policies.
The only schools who still have this policy is the lower US States and they consist of low income, mainly BLACK students.
Fact my friend!
fitasafiddle123 2 years ago
...and btw, i am NOT against mom or dad giving junior a swat on the bottom to get away from the stove or away from the road. But leave that to the parents and NOT for the most part, a stranger ie: Teacher(s)
fitasafiddle123 2 years ago
It's not that, Behavior changes A LOT when children go to school, Many people think.....Not saying there wrong. But many think it's the same behavior girls have the general same respectful behavior but boys are al ot more tense, and more willing to test the teacher"s".
Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
Did you know too ballcap that most of the Schools that allow corporal punishment now consist of districts with low income mainly black families?
And are all located in the lower southern US
fitasafiddle123 2 years ago
I know, I live in one of the southern states that it is still legal.
Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
Really, I live in California, where paddling was banned by the time of my birth, so I never got to see it happen, but remember, more people have been hurt through this form of loving discipline than helped. I have spoken to many people who have fallen victim to this form of abuse and have either felt worthless or complete resentment towards the punisher. In fact it's gone so far as a group of teachers who like to talk about their beating habbits on the internett, if that's not sick, what is?
generalcrash777 2 years ago
They in fact live in your neck of the woods, Georgia. So just remember, if a kid is acting up, stop and really think hard what's going on his/her life. Maybe the parents are just as responsible because the kid learned the same behaviors from them. Just stop and think.
generalcrash777 2 years ago
Sure, i would agree with that in regards to boys vs girls. Sure.
fitasafiddle123 2 years ago
So, you've decided to come back? Did you decide to get educated before coming? Obviously from your most recent post the answer is a firm, "No."
As for the little girl that is being referenced, her name is Courtney Biggers. There is a story on her, just google it. Second, you claim that corporal punishment is need to teach good from bad behavior is just laughable. To look at this, just ask yourself if President Obama's children are being beaten in school?
generalcrash777 2 years ago
If that were the case, I garentee you that it would be an issue of national security, it would be on every news station and the practice would probably be brought to an end. It is not needed for a child's development. As you stated to me, when you were being slapped, you felt like punching someone. That's the same reaction students have when being paddled, but they can't foolow through on their urges except for a select few. I'll tell you about it in the next post.
generalcrash777 2 years ago
Mitchel Johnson went on a shooting spree in his Arkansas Middle School, killing 4 students and 1 teacher. In later reports, reporters learned that Mitchel was paddled the day before and the teacher who he killed was the same teacher who paddled him. How did corporal punishment help him? There was also a case of a 9 year old boy in Arazona who shot his Dad to get even for his 1000th spanking. The boy who kept a written record promised that his 1000th would be the last.
generalcrash777 2 years ago
So let me lay it down to you in plain english, if I haven't made myself clear yet, corporal punishment has been proven to be harmful. Any educated person would side with the evidence. Only those entrenched with the hitting habbit would do otherwhise. So, I'll play your little game, in your minde and think really hard, how did corporal punishment help the two people I mentioned? 1 will be fatherless as resort of getting even and the other is in jail for other reasons, but it still follows him.
generalcrash777 2 years ago
a disruptive student in his class. Teachers don't just go up to a student and paddle them, they have to have a reason. If that reason is for something wrong they did damn, that sucks for them. When people say that have scars from corporal punishment. As I like stated a second ago. It is obvious that was a student who disrupted school.
Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
Do you want the name of the boy who shot his father dead after being spanked repeatedly.
fitasafiddle123 2 years ago
I WANT THE WHOLE DAMN LIST OF IT, I WANT THE NAME DOB WHERE THIS HAPPENED, WHEN IT OCURED, WHO WAS THE KID, DID HE HAVE MENTAL ISSUES, I WANT THE (I know this is hard, for you I've noticed cause after so many times asking I can see) I WANT TO KNOW HOW YOU GOT THIS INFORMATION.

Btw Ballcap,
If your child (if you have any) is hurt or injured by a teacher did you know: teachers and principals have immunity from all civil and criminal liability arising from corporal punishment SO effectively and unconstitutionally denies students and parents the legal remedies
fitasafiddle123 2 years ago
You are so ignorant, I'm starting to wonder corporal punishment helped you much, if anything taught you to be lazy. If you can't even google what I'm talking about, look it up on youtube, but since you insist, I will tell you.
Possitive Discipline:
Developed by Dr. Jane Nelsen, where mistakes are seen as oppurtunities for learning. No hitting, swatting, paddling, caning, spanking allow. For the rest, God, please google it.
generalcrash777 2 years ago
HAHA, well to start, if you have not noticed we are kinda in a debate, you fight your evidence with mine I look up some of your evidence and call it bullshit and wipe my ass with it, and some I can't fight....not that I'm lazy. Now when I was a kid, not to long ago, I was slapped for doing wrong things, (running into the middle of the street, talking when im not supposed to) I wanted to punch back when I got slapped, but i knew the consequence if I did, My ass would be grass.
Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
You wipe your ass with it? Well, isnt that intelligent. How about i send you "Plane talk about Spanking" by Jordan Riak.
It is backed by the Parents and Teachers Against Violence in Education and has been notably recognized nation wide.

And for the Love of God, please get yourself educated in psychology and/or child development, an introduction course will do.

its not off of a role model its off of what kids want to do to look cool. So trust me when i say that corporal punishment "violence" is not the cause of how they get through a conflict. if anything you would understand that (for 1) Video games would be a great cause of fights in school, not corporal punishment.
Now I probably did not hear your answer or I just didn't understand it.
Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
Now in your mind, in your opinion, right now, just imagine. I know this is gonna be hard but just imagine. You were a 13 14 or 15 year old in middle or high school, You went to go fight someone, got you on camera. Paddle 3 times. Wanna fight again? knowing the pain you will receive if you do?
Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
Get caught fighting?? And then get HIT for fighting?? What the hell does that solve but perhaps piss that student off even more for the next time in a fight!
Ever think that CHILD may be getting the supreme shit kicked out of him at home and THIS is why he/she is acting up?
Teachers do NOT know what is going on in that childs life so Corporal Punishment should be banned. Period!
fitasafiddle123 2 years ago
One more than, npleas look this up, internal Vs external control. That's why people use shame and fear to discipline students. Also, I can get the same result with a gun or knife, rather than a paddle.
generalcrash777 2 years ago
I would be terrified if I had corp. pun done to me personally, i would also know that WHAT EVER THE FUCK I DID WAS WRONG WRONG WRONG, and for no reason would i want to ever do what i did again.

One of wich comes from the Book of Deuteronomy:
generalcrash777 2 years ago
If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son, who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they chastise him, will not give heed to them, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives, and they shall say to the elders of the city, " This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard."
generalcrash777 2 years ago
continued:

Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
@Ballcap1358876

I'm am para phrasing, but in the bible it states
Prov 13:24: "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes (diligently)."
Prov 19:18: "Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying."
Prov 22:15: "Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him."
Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
Prov 23:13: "Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die."
Prov 23:14: "Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell (Shoel)."
Prov 29:15: "The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame."
Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
well, It's not the first time we have violated the amendment.
Lynching has nothing to do with corporal punishment.
Ballcap1358876 2 years ago
Ballcap,
Can you tell me one 'credible' teaching college that instructs its undergraduates how and when to paddle a child?
Surely they dont just will nilly pick up a board after being hired and start swinging on a child do they?
Not once has a female child been asked if they are mentruating or pregnant before their paddling. Damage has occured as a result of this is the past
Bottom line, you can deal with a child without hitting, so why have it??!>?
fitasafiddle123 2 years ago
If anything corporal punishment should not be something you should worry about if were violating the amendments, I would think you would pay more attention to Capital Punishment, so you should not bring the amendments into this.

just because it's banned in schools doesn't mean it's banned everywhere else, once a child messes up in school and the parents are notified, s/he is going to get it at home anyway.
el3m3ntsk8s 2 years ago
Violence in the world today starts with parents who continue the horrible abuse they received as children. Can't we start a school class on parenting in every single school all over the world to teach kids how to discipline their kids properly later on when they have kids or demand every new parent to attend a parenting seminar before their first child is born -- there is 9 months for them to learn the right way to raise a child after all.
hesanflicka 2 years ago
Corporal punishment is just fine if administered responsibly and fairly. Schools should NOTIFY the student's PARENT(S) BEFORE using corporal punishment and the punishment should be administered AWAY from the eyes and ears of the other students and with at least one other adult witness at hand if the parent cannot attend.
Stratslayer 2 years ago
Great, your merit to back that claim up?
Define responsibly and fairly.
Would you say the risk of spy cameras in the principal's office sound responsible?
generalcrash777 2 years ago 2
What does science have to say about that?
2 things,
1. You got lucky.
2. You were able to fight the pain and all the negative effects of CP.
Just to let you know,
Almost all the medical society and a majority of the psychological community are against it's use. Please be more educated in Child Dep. before commenting and do some research please.
generalcrash777 3 years ago
ok, so spanking a child and smoking and molesting are the same, eh? whatever. I don't think there is anything wrong with not spanking, but that idea that spanking a child is evil is rediculous. I haven't had to spank my child yet, but If the time comes when I think I have to, I will. I don't listen to scientists when I make decisions. All those expiriments can be made to come out however they want. It isn't that hard to manipulate them.
fingersmcoy 3 years ago
It's not that hard to manipulate them.
Whatever method you use, use it responsibly
generalcrash777 3 years ago
BTW, Using CP on your own kid is totally irrelevant to this conversation. We're talking about schools using it wich is totally barberic and their would be no way in hell that I would let a total stranger have any right to hit my kid whatsoever. I know parents that use CP, my parents use it regularly and I respect their decision to use it although I strongly disagree with it personally because of scientific and imperical evidence that shows its harmfulness.
generalcrash777 3 years ago
The reason I shot those 3 arguements at you is because I wanted to show you that your logic doesn't work. Saying you smoked and turned out okay doesn't warrent that smoking is okay.
generalcrash777 3 years ago
Dear FingersMcoy,
Please read Plain Talk about Spanking and the statisics on my website,
The Hitting Stops Here dot comm.
Thankyou
Paula
paulaflowe 3 years ago
I don't know why you people keep talking to me. it is real simple. you do not believe in spanking, I do. so be it. we both have the right to feel that way. You have a right to not spank, and I have a right to spank. It is when nosy busybodies try to get the government involved in how I raise my kid is when it has got to stop. luckily, that hasn't happened. yet. bottom line, I am gonna raise my kid how I see fit, and you can do the same.
fingersmcoy 3 years ago
Wow...really?!? Hopefully violence will someday be viewed as wrong for all things living. The only way violence can ever be justified is when the object being subjected to violence can be classified as property. This was true of women and slaves. And yes the "government" had to intervene in these issues to correct them because they were held as true by so many members of society. I doubt you would say that slavery or the repression of women were ever a good thing...hopefully the same for kids
iwiwla22 2 years ago
I would have to agree 100%
generalcrash777 2 years ago 3
Think about this:
I was spanked and I turned out okay:
Look at these arguements and let me know if they are okay? Note: they follow your logic, I was spank and I turned out okay, so it must be okay.
I smoked and I turned out okay, so it must be okay.
I was molested and I turned out okay, so that gives me permission to touch a child because he/she will turn out okay.
I drank and drove and I turned out okay, so it should be okay.
Do you believe any of these things are okay?
generalcrash777 3 years ago
This is why kids these days are worse than ever. they have nothing to lose. listen, liberal ideas never ever work.
fingersmcoy 3 years ago
Liberal ideals?
Please, we are trying to save children from the fear of being assaulted and battered that you enjoy. It's not a liberal issue, it's a human rights issue and as long as everyone doesn't understand this, children will be subjected to assault and battery everytime they go to school
generalcrash777 3 years ago
spanking isn't assault and battery.
fingersmcoy 3 years ago
Yes it is, have you looked up the definition of battery? Paddleing is just a sugar-coded way of saying it. CP doesn't work and we have science on our side to prove it, looks like we win!
generalcrash777 3 years ago
you win? how old are you, 12?
fingersmcoy 3 years ago
When your're an art teacher and your student tells you " I don't want to do this shit you dumb bitch!", that's when a good ass whooping is needed. And on another note, The worthless parents of these kids need to get controll before the teachers should have to. this all the more reason that people should have to have a license to have kids because a lot of parents can't take care of themselves let alone raise a kid. Bottom line, if you do what your suppost to do then you don't get in trouble.
losidriver 3 years ago
Violence has not and will never be the answer. 2. You don't know why that child is acting up, it could be for a number of reasons that you don't know that you may not have the time to understand. Instead of an ass whoopin' that you talk about, try words, they're very effective if used correctly. I'll return the favor. If dogs do what they're told they wouldn't get in trouble. Can you hit your dog if they do something wrong?
