the mr2 is one seriously underrated car, ive owned many sports cars and the mr2 is still one of my faves,it responds really well to modification, not that it really needs it with a 0-60 time of 6 secs and 150 mph top speed the japanese version of this car has 20 more horse power with 245 bhp and just over 300 nm of torque.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a stroked 3S-GTE motor...2.0l block bored over with the 2.2l crank and a good bit of work could easily do that. HYDE got a 10 something with that setup. Good run by any means

yeah as far as i can find out it's like a custom motor you have to buy From Chico Race works or ATS but it's like 2k~3k for just the short block and stock head. But seriously it's an awsome MR2 dude. GO YOU!

For real? this is a 5sfte? How much horsepower are you running? Is this a 3sgte that is bored to a 2.2L stroker kit? Or is this really a 5sfte? I have never seen a 5sfte beyond 300bhp which is why I asked. I was going to go with a 3rd gen 3sgte because I know for a fact those are upgradeable up to 900hp. I have a 6th gen celica that I am building to a GT-FOur and I plan on getting an MR2 this year which is why I asked.

Alot of people put k20's and k24's from the integra type r and the Acura tsx into mr2's. A turboed k could make over 700 hp without a problem.

I have a 92 with a 5S-FE. It is the non-turbo engine 2.2 liter. The 3S-GTE is the turbo and is 2.0 l. I Don't know how you could combine the 2 since they are quite different.

Ah are you sure this is the world fastest and your not full of BS??? Japan has quite a few MR2s doing high 9s on street tyres. Im just not sure whether they have had a go on slicks. Even if you are officially the quickest doing it on slicks has got nothing on them doing very similar times on street legal tyres. Still a very quick car though.
