well i had both,

i think they are basically the same, the only difference is the 3,2 megapixel camera and tiny stuff, but that is all. the w580 is alot cheaper than the w595, if money even matters to you.

with either chioce you cant go wrong ;)

go to settings then go to the sounds & alerts column.

you then go to light effects and fool around from there

as far as i know u cant change the colours, the only way to change how the colours are is when some one rings u, they can have a light sequence. also themes have certain colour lights but after a while they just go back to green ive found

With Sony Ericsson Theme Creator you can choose your own color of lights but only when phone is idle. While it rings you have to choose from default ones.

I made my own themes so I have many other colors and it never turns back to green.

Btw! The original color is not green but orange. It only looks like green -.-

I got the phone this Dec, it's pretty easy to navigate. Just go to the main menu, click on settings, scroll over to the Sounds & alerts menue, then scroll down to the light affects, select it, press select again, and you can play each one, and chose one for calls, or individual contacts to set. It's pretty cool. hope this helps

I would suggest this phone to people who are bad at taking care of their phones. I dropped this phone in a bathtub full of water, it has been buried under snow, it has been dropped many, MANY times and i still have it today and it still works perfectly plus it is entertaining and has all of the features you want in a phone and has unique features such as if you hold down the music button and shake the phone the song will change, you can change the light colors on the side and i highly reccomend

well thats for when someone calls you but the lights dont blink like that normally they say one color depending on what theme you have on your phone.... yeah but ok if you want to change the light color for when someone calls you all you have to do is either 1)go to your setting on menu,then sounds and alerts then the fourth one down light effects then call light and choose wateva one you want 2) or choose a contact# then hit edit contact then scroll 3 over and choose light effect hope i helped!

Iv had mine since the start of summer, up untill september i would have said it was an indestructible phone, i even dropped it off a train bridge by accident once (Not onto the tracks of course) But the phone took to physical or internal damage, they will however take alot of wear and tear due to the main buttons on the left and right stick out alot and will eventually rip the rubber underneath, but if you not like me, its a good buy ;)

For your information this is one of the best phones you can find on the planet. I got mines on the release date last year and it is still new and working normal. Its fully customized and not one of my keys aint broken. It all has to do with the way you treat your phone. Most of you Brutalize the keypad in all kind of ways (playing games, texting and browsing the internet) and then blame Sony Ericsson for bad products. Any one out there looking to buy this phone I would say to you "Go Head!!!!"

for your information i have this phone as well and i do not abuse it in the ways you have described. texting is a function of the phone and the phone should be creating to perform such tasks. two of the buttons on this phone have cracked in half because of regular use, not abuse, and i would not recommend this phone to a friend. the quality is simply too low and although the phone still works, when it's in pieces i think it's time to get a new phone. at least i can still call 911 in an emergency

The one I got when it was lunched and the one I bought again in August 08 is still brand new. My keypads are 100% and there are only 3 visible marks on them after more than 5 falls, and none are major. Walkman player is great with my custom acoustics and skins, phone looks great with flash themes and elfs. Am good...

considering i am on my third one in three months, my first one every button snapped in half and had to be returned, my second one same situation and also the earspeaker broke, media card slot would ot recognize card. my third one i have had for week or so and have three broken buttons. they give you a refurbished phone when you exchange, this i hope is enough explanation. it also is cheap,lg makes a ten times better slde/mp3 phone

Hmm wow you seem to have run into some pretty nasty problems with that phone. Mine is still like new it recognizes my M2 Memory stick. None of my keys have cracked like a lot of people say they do. People I have seen with LG phones some look good but certain models will just start having errors and bugs and the screen will stop working at times or just permanently. Sony Ericsson, being a Walkman, make better MP3's then almost all other phones with a few others being better. But oh well.
