  • would it be possible to make the controller make it "pulsate" in time with music ect. Also could you explain briefly what Ardunio is please. Thannkss :D

  • Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware basicly you have inputs and outputs and a controler inbetween so you can program different action, like diming or pulsate even :D if its hooked up to a pc it is possible to make it go along with music since it converts usb to serial port signals

  • Wow, thanks.. do you know of any websites where I can find out in more depth about al this? Cheers.

  • is you itouch jailbroken?

  • Cool, that's awesome! Don't you have a blog or something where you teach to do this? I'm specially interested in the web interface. Thank you!

  • Naw I dont. Too lazy for that.... :)

But in the video, I have a computer that listens on a port then relays the information to the arudino using the serial port.

In its current state I have removed the computer all together. I got the arduino with the arduino ethernet shield and now I can control the lights using a web broswer. So i can actually control it from my mobile phone. :)

  • Nice man !!!

what hardware do you use or is the light coming purely from leds ?

  • Thxz. Its just a regular LED strip powered by 12 volts. I added an arduino inbetween the 12v and the LED, so with the arduino I PWM the LEDs. Simple ;)

  • @Carsten4207

    Great !!!

How does arduino communicates with internet? eth shield, wifi ?

I am working on a project to control multiple arduino modules in the house but i cannot decide how to connect them to my computer Wifi and zigbee are 2 expensive (i like them most) eth binds you to a cable :( recently i found one more possibility RFM12B 868 MHz. The parts have just arrived have to solder them. I love your iPhone app looks great !!!

Would you share the arduino sketch ?

  • @GubagyDudu I had the Arduino connected to the PC using USB port. Then I had a PC listening for the requests and forwarding it on to the Arduino. You could make it work with the Ethernet shield and send the messages directly to the Arduino.

PM me your email and i'll send you the code if I can find it.

  • that is fucking nice..!!! what software did you use to create the iphone program, i got the hardware department cover, so i'm now learning software programing.

  • It's a simple website with a selection dropbox and a submit button

  • This is cool! Did you document any of this so others like me can have a try at it? How did you interface to the arduino?

  • Very nice! I`ll need to learn more before I can attempt something like this. Though web interfacing my arduino is something I really want to do. I was kinda hoping the address to the page would be accidentally posted with the vid so I could turn your lights on and off a few times :)
