Big engines racing in a straight line is not everything. American cars are grear for that, which I admire, but JDM have smaller engines that are capable to do more. Of course, im not saying about Civics or Corollas with big wheels, im talking about Mazda RX7, Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline, Honda NSX, Mitsubishi 3000GT etc...
@magochapin haha u hate civics but they are in the 7's 8's 9's 10 second all motor 2.0l 4cylinder if u dont believe me look it up on youtube its not hard to find
If "ricers" means to have a well-balanced car that can handle and won't break down, then get me one. Or I could drive a Camaro in a straight line and show the world how "amazing" my driving is. Nah. I like Camaros, just not the douche bags who driver them straight off of a cliff because they never learned how to take corners.
@acheroninsignia A ricer has nothing to do with where the car comes from. A car is a ricer when somebody puts all the stickers and street glow and body kits on it. Like the stereotypical fast and the furious cars. you can take a vw and make it a ricer if you are that kind of a person
Can you tell me what to do to importing cars to the US? I am from Japan living in Berkeley. Used cars here in expensive and not as good conditions as one in Japan.
i'm actually thinking about doing this. i found a 1991 toyota supra JZA70 for just 2000!! Perfect condition! i also found some other good stuff like rx7s for like 6000
haha, rotary's are great! they can be horrible, but if you know what your doing, it can be fixed with out the whole mazda dearlship screwing you over. Ill give you hint, dont get a modified JDM car, well im talking about the engine, because you never know what will happen with your engine! Suspension and all is fine, just get an non modified engine.
Catch the random Corvette in the slideshow? That's SUPER JDM ;)

i found cheaper rx-7's! with really low km, but i recommend doing an inspection in japan and maybe changing parts in japan before you ship it!
I didnt buy this guide, but im thinking about it. Let me know how it is if you buy it!

yea i found alot of rx7's for alot cheaper. my first car probably won't be a jdm car though. i've heard some horror stories about the rotary engine.

true, i think most of the engine problems are caused by faulty engine mounts. so i might upgrade that

keep in mind the shiping price
u get what u see...
and
the check ups and mods to make it street legal where u live
mycurse67 2 years ago
@oarih94 Yeah, the car itself is cheap.
But getting it here and making it legal is the expensive part.

That's why Imported vehicles cost more than domestics: SOMEONE has to pay the shipping fees
