What controversy? There is no controversy about this in the scientific community. You should teach about creationism from a historical perspective and treat it like phrenology and the geocentric model.
@Kynos1 Right. I also hate when they say, "Teach BOTH sides." If the "other" side is a creation myth, then there are HUNDREDS of sides as there are hundreds of creation myths.
Creationism has been refuted hundreds of times by hundreds of different people. you have No arguements to disprove or even deny evolution, give it up .
Evolution is disproved already because it has been proven that mutations do not accumulate and have never accumulated.
No ordered function of any kind ever exists without having a maker. It takes design of the function, it takes the making of the function and it takes the ordering of the function none of which is possible without a maker. It is three things that only a Maker is able to do that results in a life form.
@IncDeathCreed If there was a transitional fossil, as you say, you would have named it.
It is a proven fact that mutations do not accumulate or amount to anything because random mutations are not able to order any functions. They can only change existing functions.
That is what the facts are.
Evolution is a fraud and a fantasy. It does not happen in the real world.
Learn this fact even if it is the only thing you ever learn.
...then learn that only our Maker can be our Savior.
"random mutattions can only change existing functions" What you FAIL TO LIST among your "FACTS" is that there isn't only random mutations that change the DNA, there are also the following processes:
Gene duplication, Gene fission/fusion, transposable element protein domestication, endogenous retro viruses, etc....
ALL OF THESE PROCESSES INTRODUCE NEW INFORMATION ALONE OR COMBINED WITH RANDOM MUTATION.
Want to know a fun fact? Retroviruses are viruses which RANDOMLY insert themselves in the hosts' genome and when the hosts reproduce while they pass the ERVs to their descendant in a particular spot which was the spot that the germ cell was infected. That descendant's progeny will then inherit the same ERV in that specific location.
What's the fun part? You share 90.000 of such viruses in the exact same location as other primates. Must be a coincidence huh? Retard.
@DSkaz89 What is 90,000 compared to billions of possible locations. We were infected by the same infections depending on our susceptibility. It does not prove we are related to the apes. It is possible for leaves from two different trees to fall on each other in many different locations and that does not mean the trees are the same kind of tree. The infections can fall in any number of the same locations given the sililarities. This happened because of the time when all life was cursed to die.
@JungleJargon "what is 90.000 compared to the billions of possible locations" the more possible locations the more astonishing it is to share ERVs in the same location moron, it seems you can't grasp the concept at all. We share about 90.000 ERVs not BASE PAIRS MORON, try to guess how many ERVs we have in TOTAL, i'll give you a hint it starts with 9 and ends with four zeros. MORON.
Oh and your analogy is as relevant to the argument as my ass is.
@DSkaz89 Your "information" is very wrong. Out of 98,000 ervs in the human genome, something like 16 of them are inserted in the same location as chimps. These insertions are very selective as to where they insert themsleves, so they are not inserted randomly. There are also other ervs that we should have, if evolution was true, that we dont't have, disproving evolution.
@JungleJargon "Out of the 98.000 only 16" that's only the K class ERVs MORON. What, did you watch cdk's video and rush here before even finishing it? IDIOT AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
THAT'S WHY YOU CREATIONISTS ARE RETARDED AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHA
@JungleJargon AHAHAHAHAHAHA LIKE HOW MANY ERVS WE SHARE WITH MONKEYS? 16? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH YOU KNOW WHATS FUNNY? YOU JUST LIED AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN SAY SORRY AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH NOT THAT I'D EXPECT ANYTHING LESS FROM AN HYPOCRITE AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
@DSkaz89 Dr Sean Pitman discusses the problems with using ERV's as proof of neo-Darwinism. One problem is the presence of other ERV's in the chimp and gorilla genome which are NOT Present in the human genome. If ERV's can be used to prove a common ancestor, then they can also be used to DISprove a common ancestor. It turns out that many of the basic assumptions underlying the ERV thinking has been found to be incorrect.
@JungleJargon "Dr Sean Pitman" Who, the idiot that thinks there are 30.000 ervs and that there are only 7 shared between humans and chimps? That man is a disgrace for his university.
But let me explain why he is a moron and you are an even bigger moron: there are a few ervs that are off... so what? You mean we humans and the chimps MUST NOT get any additional infection in our lineage since the 2.3 MILLION YEARS that we started diverging for evolution to be true? YOU ARE AN IDIOT! =)
@JungleJargon "Dr" sean pitman thinks the total number of ervs is 30.000 instead of 98.000 he thinks there are only 7 shared ERVs when over 99% of ervs are shared between primates and misrepresents the remaining 1% to decieve poor scientifically illiterate idiots like you. Go read the wikipedia page about ERVs at least the numbers there are not made up like those of your "Doctor".
Oh and since some humans have more ERVs than others this means they aren't humans but aliens? AHAHAHAHAHAH IDIOT.
"If you have to insist that you've won an Internet argument, you've probably lost badly."
"nobody is talking about ERVs"
If all you listen to are popularizers and propaganda it's no wonder you don't even know what an ERV is. Go on pubmed and tell me the thousands of peer reviewed papers by hundreds of scientists about them are "nobody". Moron. Go eat the crap of your favourite bullshitter, i base my facts on DATA not people.
I'm seriously wondering if you even read what i write anymore AHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAAHAHAH
"require a global flood." ROFL and the 3 times more water than all the water present on earth came from????? I find it amaizing tough that the flood was so meticolous that it buried down below all the primitive species but NONE of the currently existing species were buried down below with them.
@JungleJargon "The mountains were not as high and the oceans were not as deep before the flood." The few inches that the mountains have risen since the flood supposedly occurred are hardly worth mentioning. There is simply not enough water to cover all the land; even if all the ice on earth melted, the sea levels would only rise about 60 meters, not nearly enough to cover even most of the land.
@JungleJargon "people aren't using ervs as an argument " People thought the earth was flat, the church killed people who claimed otherwise because the BUYBULL said so. I don't give a fuck about what people say, people are often wrong. Data, unlike your bible, is not wrong.
The law of god demands that you kill by stoning rapers and rape victims, rebellious teenagers, followers of other religions, just read deuteronomy, leviticus and the other good books of the old testament; and if you think the old testament means nothing, first of all you're mocking your gods laws and secondly jesus states the laws of the old testament will stay forever: matthew 5:17-20
@DSkaz89 You have no concept of what a holy God is. Israel was a nation created by God and as such, He could allow no sin. God is not able to require anything less. The sin must be put out of the camp. Rape is never even allowed under any circumstances and yes, if the "victim" does not scream, that shows the person was complicit and not even a victim. God as God can say or require nothing less than perfection.
OH REALLY? Judges 21:10-24, Massacre a city, rape their virgins, not satisfied, kidnap other peoples wives and rape more.
Besides, your god (other than commanding it countless times) has laws that condone rape: Deuteronomy 22:28-29 tough i must admit it's a nice deal: i see a hot girl out there, i ask her if she's married, she says no so i rape her then i present her dad about 500 euros of silver and then i get a hot wife to rape wether she wishes or not.
@DSkaz89 If you knew anything about law, you just contaminated the girl and she is worthless to anyone else after you "raped her".
Judges 21 : 25 "In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit."
How can you say that God commanded the deeds of Israel?
Rape was never allowed by God and the issue was an oath that they took not to give their daughters to a Benjamite. They did not "give" their daughters, they let them take their daughters. It had nothing to do with God.
@JungleJargon It is clear it is YOU who has no idea who yaweh really is.
First you claim that the bible never sets rules for killing, unaware of the fact that god commands death by stoning for a number of silly reasons like not screaming when being raped (even if bitgagged and unable to do so)
So you claim god is perfect and never allows rape (except when it is done on virgins of other nations after you massacre their families). Ignorant fool, go read your bible you mindless idiot.
@DSkaz89 You are confusing Christian teaching with the Law made for Israel. Christian teaching does not advocate killing. The Law of Israel advocates capital punishment for serious violations of the Law. There was no reason for keeping a violator of the Law of God inside the nation of God (ideally). We know the nation eventually became very corupt just like anyone else.
The Bible never encouraged anyone to rape anyone. You are slandering a perfect God.
@JungleJargon "You are confusing christian teachings with the LAW"
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."
@JungleJargon "never encouraged anyone to rape" Are you kidding me? So you mean israel went out, kidnapped little virgin GIRLS after they slaughtered their fathers mother and brothers (of any age) to do WHAT???? Save them from their sinful families? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA That is more ridiculous than the sun being made after the plants. I guess your god is PERFECTly ridiculous. If there is such a thing as a god the one slandering it is you by associating it with the monster described in the bible.
@DSkaz89 Yes, there was no commandment to rape. You have no idea of who you are slandering and you are slandering your Maker.
No people or nations had to attack God and His servant Israel and Israel did make peace with peaceful people.
There is no evidence of any other maker than the very great, all knowing, all powerful Maker of the fabrication of all of the functions within the time and space that He stretched out all by Himself. He also made Israel to make a name for Himself in the earth.
@JungleJargon "no evidence of any other maker" Except from the 4000 other makers worshipped by humanity troughout history and the ever growing idiocies like mormons, scientologists etc...
Besides, i think you are insulting the maker of the universe more than anybody by associating it with a stupid plagarized myth from the canaanite religion.
If he wanted to make a name he might as well write it in our DNA... OPS we know of a maker that signed our dna already: EVOLUTION!
@DSkaz89 The name of our Maker is written in our DNA and you don't see it. It is the function that hydrogen has which carries the name of the Maker of the universe.
There is no evidence of any other maker. There is only the Maker of the function that hydrogen has working inside of us making our existence possible.
The first mention of a Savior (God) born of a woman was to Adam and Eve. Your poor education is showing.
@JungleJargon "function of hydrogen" yeah right. like 1+1=GOD? I'd love to see the bible passage where there's schrodinger's equation written... or even maxwell's equations or gauss' theorem. Last time i checked genesis 1 didn't go this way:
"And GOD said "∇•D=ρ ; ∇•B=0 ; ∇xE=-∂B/∂t ; ∇xH=J+∂D/∂t" and there was light" I guess god was too busy giving details on how to sacrifice chicken and bulls to actually... you know... give some undeniable proof of his great knowledge? LOL
@DSkaz89 Random Chance cannot ever result in orders or directives of any kind. That's why mutations never accumulate so as to amount to anything because they are not ordered mutations.
That means that "evolution" does not happen and is not responsible for anything.existing.
The function that hydrogen has holding DNA together has the signature of the Maker of the function that hydrogen has.
You are too busy making strawman arguments and knocking them down to understand anything about function.
@JungleJargon "means that evolution" are we talking about pokemon evolution or the biological discipline of evolution BY NATURAL SELECTION? Moron. Natural selection is not random, nobody thinks that living things came into being randomly, only idiots like you do. Ironic that you claim i am making strawmen when you are criticizing something you don't even understand nor bother to, i guess it is only to be expected of an HYPOCRITE.
@JungleJargon Look up POLYPLOIDY--> it completely destroys the "mutations never amount to anything" argument. Hydrogen doesn not hold DNA together. What holds DNA together is covalent bonding between the amino acids and the phosphate lattice to which they attach, same as RNA. It is the PO4 component that makes the difference. Phosphate forms naturally as phosphorus is to reactive to be found in a pure state--it always combines with oxygen [see a vid of phosphorus in water]. Too bad, so sad
@JungleJargon If the victim does not scream? Did I actually read this correctly? If someone tells a rape victim, "don't make a sound or I'll cut you to pieces", and her choice is to submit or to be cut to pieces, she should scream? You're totally crazy. A victim who is too terrified to scream is complicit? Does anyone else see something wrong with this argument?
@nancy6ify All the victim has to do is to make a sound and everyone will be there.
You must have never lived in a community like that.
A person with evil intent would never approach someone that he knows would make a lot of trouble for him. He will approach someone who will be complicit.
If that is the best argument that you have against God, you need to evaluate your intent.
The function of hydrogen working inside of us proves there is a God.
@JungleJargon Faith, by its nature, excludes the possibility of proof. If you say you have proof, then you are denying faith, and are DISproving your entire argument! "Better to remain silent and thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt." Solomon's Proverbs.
@Becvar80 Faith is for the present and future. There is evidence of the past. There is observable evidence for what Christians believe, we believe the truth. There is no evidence that objects made or refined what you are. There is no evidence for what never happened. There is only evidence of what did happen.
Now say something, if you can. Address the issues.
@nancy6ify It is dangerous to scream when no one around cares. I am talking about living in a better socielty where people do care and don't carry knives to kill people.
Either way the person is still complicit whether it is to save her life or not.
@JungleJargon BTW the real reason people don't use ERVs as proof of evolution is that creationists are too retarded to understand it.
"You have to open your mind to other things" Says the bigoted moron that ignores the mountains of evidence accessible at a building that you never visited and never will called MUSEUM.
@JungleJargon "the function of hydrogen requires a maker" Even if there is a maker why could he not have used evolution to create us? Why does he have to be so limited as to have to create things the way you want him to? Who is the bigoted moron now? You can't even discuss a proper topic and feed me your stereotypicial bullshit which has nothing to do with evolution, what the fuck does the function of hydrogen have to do with evolution? The same thing that is inside your head: NOTHING. AHAHAHAH
@DSkaz89 Life forms have a Maker and they have ordered functions. Evolution depends on mutations and mutations are what kill us eventually. Mutations have to be corrected for the sake of the viability of the species.
Evolution does not work in real life experience. Mutations do not accumulate or order anything, it is a fact.
The function of hydrogen has to do with the existence of our Maker who made our functions.
The genome of each species was made to be able to adapt and it sitll works.
@JungleJargon "Evolution does not work in real life experience" Except for the observed instances of speciation and long term evolutionary experiments. XD
"Mutations do not accumulate" Wrong, they do.
"or order anything" Wrong again.
Besides, the amoeba, a tiny unicellular organism, has about 600 billion base pairs and is the organism with the largest DNA of all earth, you would have no problem with that becoming a man since its DNA can contain about 100 different human genomes? LOL
@DSkaz89 Everything living has to grow the same way as everything else. There is no other way for life forms to exist.
Nothing has ever changed into being something else. The variations are limited because the information in the genome is limited and mutations are not able to order anything. It is the genome that orders things.
Ok so if an amoeba were to suddenly turn into 50 different animals you'd have no problem with that would you? In fact it would not surprise you at all if from a little pond containing a few of those tiny unicllular organisms all life of the earth were to sprang forth since amoebas have from 370 to 600 billion base pairs while we mighty humans have only 6. I guess god made humans from amoebas LOL.
@JungleJargon if you have a 6 gigabyte hard-disk and a 600 gigabyte hard-disk, which one CAN STORE more information?
If the amoeba can store more information then why does it not do so? Why does it not have the information to see, talk, praise invisible beings etc? Why did god put all that space there and did not use it? Is god an idiot? Well it certainly seems that way since he doesn't even know the basics of information storing.
Yes. There are many unsolved problems in evolution. There are none in Christianity. If anyone wishes to do their research and come up with an intelligent argument to the contrary, I will gladly hear you out.

ATP synthase in 1997 got Paul Boyer the Nobel Prize. One of the students under him that worked very close with him is my Professor Doctor Ecercell who believes in God. Science does not disprove God. Evolution, in my opinion, is a method that God uses to create things. Nothing really proves anything they just create theories that try to explain things. We will know after we die which was right.
@devmanl "No its an observation. If it were "a fact" it wouldn't be a theory."
An observation in science is called a fact. A scientific theory is an explanation for those facts. Evolution is a fact i.e. an observation that is explained by the theory of evolution by natural selection. Gravity is a fact that is explained by the theory of gravity i.e. General relativity. You're using the terms fact and theory as they're colloquially known and not how science uses them.
do you know hol long it would take for erosion, like rain and rivers to wash away everything above sea level? 14 million years, if the earth were one billion years old, our continents would have eroded away some 70 times. see The Young Earth by John D.Morris, Ph.D (1984) p. 89.
1 billion deaths. Gee I'm glad all that soil doesn't just disappear into a hole! Phew. Or that plate tectonics and thermal activity doesn't continue to reshape the world, otherwise we'd just be a round ball covered with water except that without the differentials that occur through temperature variation between land and sea there would be no weather,
Tpstrat14; if we extract all the baseless slander and fallacys, all thats left is well.. Your name, that's not science. That may be acceptable in church but not in reality, I can discern no actual points, sorry it doesn't count.
do u know how long it would take for erosion , like rain and rivers to wash away everything above seal level? 14 million years, if the earth were one billion years old, our continents would have eroded away some 70 times. total amount of sediment flowing into the ocean is 2.5 billion tons every year. There are 30.4 million cubic miles of continental crust above sea level having a mass of 383 million tons. 383 million billion tons+27.5billion tons per year = 14 million years.
@Helge129 do you know hol long it would take for erosion, like rain and rivers to wash away everything above sea level? 14 million years, if the earth were one billion years old, our continents would have eroded away some 70 times. see The Young Earth by John D.Morris, Ph.D (1984) p. 89.
@1billion1deaths1 oh indeed there's lots of erosions but fortunately erosion is not the only thing acting on land but there's also that little thing called PLATE TECTONICS, the reason for why there are mountains growing up right now. Just take for example the Nanga Parbat which is growing about 1cm per year. How much would it grow in 14 million years? 140 Km.
That idiot who got his Ph.D. out of a diploma mill needs to learn that models have limits, this is usually taught in HIGH SCHOOL.
@DSkaz89 and thats only 14 million years to that of evolutions theory of 700 million to 28 billion , irrelevent guess work with giant holes with question marks, mainstream science teaches evolution theory for the fundings for the never ending search for begining..a theorys not a fact.
@1billion1deaths1 Wow.... you are so dumb you didn't even get i shot the hole in your half assed conclusion that the earth must be young. I guess religion does indeed cause brain damage.
"a theorys not a fact." Yeah tell them stupid gravitationalists and their stupid theory of gravity, everyone knows intelligent falling is the truth, would all things randomly decide to fall in the SAME direction for NO REASON? Stupid gravitationalists.
@DSkaz89 so you bring out religoun into this??haw haw haw,, are u trying to debate religoun vs science?? Mr Dskaz, everything stands or falls on evidence, Mrs Leakeys discovery makes the evolution chart obsolete*TIME ,November 10, 1975, pg. 93 thers even more proof on inproper, inaccurate dating techniques , that u live for, you should pull out another religoun card now.
Wow man, you're even a native english speaker, are you seriously that dyslexic even with your native language!? I cannot comunicate with you if you don't understand AT LEAST one language. Please go back to school and learn proper english because before we discuss anything you MUST learn how to discuss.
@DSkaz89 life orgins should remain from random chance alone, only random chance with no prior intent from an intellegent designer god? is religioun your triumph card?because u sound pertty religious to me full of beliefs of theorized work ,predictions on 28 billion years ago.Billions of years befor humans recorded history, U must be from the future
"U" must be from the future as well because you don't speak ancient or modern day english. Perhaps where you are from you is spelled U and RELIGION is spelled either religoun or religioun.
You freaking redneck go back to school and get a fucking diploma, ignorant bigoted moron.
@DSkaz89 you should know being the religious nutt job that u are, full of insignificant evidence and beliefs. How about u go sleep with your mother and sister, seeing as life is pointless and loveless.
God finds us weird! We have finite lives yet care and love our our idioms, not just humans but all life, we are insults to his eye, yet he is intrigued by us...
I'm willing to believe god never intended us to exist yes! What would god be without the ability to surprise and in some instances, reflective thought, conscience etc, the ability to surpass himself, god don't have any plan for us you muppet we are beyond that, makin our own plans,
"the fact that we haven't found/explained everything about evolution yet doesn't mean we never will" HA!
Well yea...if you WANT to find proof, you'll find it. (Is that a deformed human or a neanderthal? Well I'm an evolutionist, therefore that's a neanderthal)
To this day, evolution's best argument is a perverted form of Descartes' famous philosophical line: "I think therefore I am." ("I am therefore I evolved" for you guys.) Evolution is a hair-brained, science-free thoughtlessness is all!
"The basic premise of the theory of evolution (and other naturalistic, atheistic viewpoints) is that hydrogen gas, given enough time, will eventually turn into people" - Scott M. Huse.
Are you evolution/abiogenesis-believers willing to believe such absolute nonsense about the world we live in?
@tpstrat14 I've seen a lot of trollies like you lately. I have personally checked the fact that you people keep posting all day. Does the Discovery Institute pay well?
Creationist maths! Lol light then trees then man! Three variables chances of success ummm 87 billion to 1! No wonder your priests don't advise you to gamble!! Lol
"Random mutations consistently destroy information." P. 15; "Selection cannot rescue the genome." P. 69; "Mutation / selection cannot even create a single gene." P. 123; "All evidence points to human genetic degradation." P.143 - Genetic Entropy & The Mystery of the Genome by Cornell U. Genetics Professor John Sanford. He holds 25 genetic patents and is the inventor of the gene gun. He is truly an expert on the subject of mutations and natural selection. Evolution is a fairy tale for adults.
Creationists are living proof that all doesn't evolves in this world, but I think their brain still undergoes a mutation, a throwback to the primitive ape.
@narasimah Oh not at all. You have to realize that in evolution there are plenty of species that die off, creationists are the animal that didn't develop the longer legs to flee predators faster, or the bird that didn't develop the better eyesight, while the rest of us are the species that won this genetic genepool. It's simple social evolution proven by the rise of Atheism and refuted religious dogma from even 20 years ago let alone hundreds back. (I know you where sarcastic but had to lol)
Heres a cool fact, for everybody on here who believes that God doesn't exist.
The Bible says that God created light first, then the water, and made trees etc... and then man. The order in which the Bible states everything to have been made has been proven to be the correct order - by everyone. The book of Genesis was written 3300 years ago - So how could Moses (the writer of Genesis) get the right order on his own? The chances of him doing that are 87 billion to 1! It is just not possible.
@JesusRealTV ok i have now been trying for nearly an hour to write a calm and helpful response to your statement but its hard to do. never ever ever will a statement like "and made trees etc... and then man" be taken seriously. have some self respect man you are smarter than this!! the story of our creation in the bible is so weak and has NOT been proven, in fact it has been thoroughly disproven.
briefly put its more like space, time, energy, atoms, hydrogen, wait a loooong time for stars and nuclear fusion, then more elements, eventually some oxygen so you have water. its complicated but it can be proven and demonstrated. it should not be easy to explain existence, that would be disappointing. but that is what you have done, you've made it simple, you have cuddled up into a little ball screaming lalalalalalaaa refusing to think or work at finding the answers.
i will tell you now that that is actually what it takes, a lot of work and it is difficult, go study and dont whine like a little bitch when it gets hard, you can do it
In Genesis 2 is a creation story where God first creates Adam, then the plants and animals and then Eve. That's the wrong order!
First day God makes light (without source!) and fourth day makes sun, moon and stars. Wrong order again! Plants need SUN-light for photosynthesis but were created before the sun. Wrong order!
Moses, if he was the author, could have figured out himself that plants and animals (= food) were before humans.
@PSNRogueZombie The whole Christian thing is....Trust in God. But why can't the evangilists reason between rational faith and irrational faith. It's irrational to conclude that earth is 6000 years old, when 3000 years old, there was no scientific tools to prove that theory wrong. But, because a book says it's Gods word and they are supposed to be obedient to God and his word, they lose their reasoning. Thats irrational and I have to agree with those who are turned of by it.
@PSNRogueZombie Okay..... I admit and opoligies for being wrong about that !! The main point of the bible is to trust in God. Not disregard science, not be bias to Intelligent design or partake in religious dogma. Just trust in God and have faith. This is all I'm doing. When people say, religion slows down progress, it irritates me. When faith is mocked it irritates me. I have athiest friends who don't mock my beliefs. I actually read science discovery yesterday and liked it.
@PSNRogueZombie ....I realized that I was being led down a different path. My closest friends couldn't believe the change, the maturity level, my patience, the positive changes ,( blessings). I wouldn't have progressed this much on my own. Not with my bad habits.
I feel convicted in my heart if I even try to relive my old ways. I'm healthier now , and am full of confidence. Prove theres a creator ???? This is all the proof I need. I'm not going back !!!!
No controversy??? You must be kidding! What do you call the debate that goes on on you tube? What do you call the "Dissent From Darwin" signed by over 800 PHD scientists? Obviously, there is plenty of controversy.
do you accept only what your eyes see when the leaves change color in the fall? give me your explanation of why they do and i'll give you mine, then we'll see who accepts only their own visibility
@independentthinker0 um....cause...God wants the trees to show off his splendor before they loose their leaves......... That and Since the sun is at a lower angle , Theres less heat to heat the carbon dioxide to create Photosynthisis. Science again independentthinker , explains the magic, it just leaves God out of the equation.
And that goes for evolution , natural selection, and any scientific discovery. God isn't included in science because science to non believers is their discovery.
Fact- The bible was written 3000 years ago ( or a little more) Point is , the people back then didn't have the tools to make discoveries on how the earth formed, when it did and how life came to be. If you read Genesis, It gives a very narrow view on what caused everything......GOD !!!!
I know this much, Matter and energy had to be placed. It doesn't just magically appear. But what. .......MY PERSONAL VIEW ????- A intelligent designer. Science explains how it all happened , but not w God
@SeRoAnthem Who are you to tell people what they should believe ? You don't have all the answers, so your in no position to say whats normal or acceptable. Thats exactly the problem with u athiests. You only deal with fact and evidence, but you won't go beyond that and expand on what could be. You just love accepting only what your eyes see. One day though, One day when your life is hanging in the balance, The very God that you feel is only a fairytale , you will pray upon. Lol
@Tom6093 You wanna know why I deal with only fact and evidence? BECAUSE I LIVE IN REALITY. I love "going beyond that and expanding what could be", it's just that I am in no position to say that ANY OF THAT SPECULATION is REAL IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER.
Guess what, when my life is hanging in the balance, I won't pray to any God, I have been inches from death and have never thanked this being for surviving.
@SeRoAnthem And thats good.....for you. I don't have a problem with people who don't believe. My problem is that their are many who are rude and errogant on what certain religions believe and don't believe in. Religious dogma. Cathloc Priests hitting on boys, ( small percentage) bombing abortion clinics...( Very rare)
Discrimination of Gays and woman.- Okay...um... first, my fiance would leave me in a second for what the bible claims as woman submitting 2 their husbands...con...........
@SeRoAnthem Well..um....you see it's a little more then you would believe , because you ask for physical proof. I know how I think and how I work . God has a way of changing your thought process. The change was an amediate thing. It was almost as if, a light switch turn was turned off, but when I opened my heart to what you feel is a fairytale, the light switch turned on. within 2 weeks, I was not the same person. My whole vision on everything changed. I realized that I was being led ..con
@Tom6093 Well if that was your experience then I can't do anything to change that. I'm just a little sad that you attribute this experience to something that you can't demonstrate.
@SeRoAnthem You can't demonstrate a spirit inside of you. ( I'm not talking demon possession ) But you can demonstrate how it affects your everyday life. How you look at things. I don't look at science and say it's wrong. I look at science as the way God created the Universe and the earth and us. Intelligent design doesn't necessarily have anything to do with what the bible says. Many Christians feel that since the bible is Gods word, it's not open for discussion, even though it's wrong.
aka "Ken Miller Explains His Faith-Based Belief System"
"I was wishing on a star late at night up in my ivory tower, children, and it came to me as a glorious vision! I looked, and behold; a giant mustard fart exploded and bred with the cosmic egg which hatched a little speck of life in the primordial soup. Pretty soon this speck had wriggled up on dry land and sprouted opposable thumbs and an anus to pass all the pent-up gas it had built up over several billion years, and behold; it was gooot!
Classic dual standard. Miller says that creationist dont have any evidence to refute Neo Darwinism/evolution but when he goes on to speak of missing fossils, he says, absent of evidence is not evidence of absents. It doesn't matter what side of the fence your on. That stament was retarded and self contradictory.
@Roper122 No its a contradiction, however I do agree that there is over whelming evidence for evolution & even the most ardent creationist know this. The fact that life can adapt & change over time is not disputed. What is disputed, is the neo Darwinian synthesis & its grand assumptions. E.G. Molecule to man/ common ancestry/ macro evolution. Right now even people like M. Pigliucci, Stewart Newman and others are calling for a relaxing of many of the assumptions of the neo Darwinian synthesis.
@Roper122 Again, it depends on what you mean by evolution. In the broader sense of the word, chemical evolution is a part of evolution, and is just as valid a scientific construct as any other, even if it doesn't fit into the neo Darwinian synth, however this was not my point. What I am referring to is, the first living cell - too man. Maybe thats a better way of saying it. The fundamental principle of biology is that life only comes from other living things. Everything else requires faith.
@Roper122 cont........ limitations of the modern synthesis, including natural selection & random mutations, which has never been able to prove or empirically explain macro evolution. It can only explain small finite changes, and everything else has to be extrapolated. I will tell you the same. When the modern neo Darwinian synthesis can prove macro evolution, why don't you hit me back, and please provide specific citations.
When Pigliucci or Newman do anything to successfully prove your macro theory - let me know"
These men are hardcore evolutionist. They are no friends to creationist, or ID. The reason why they are trying to propose a new extended synthesis based on self organization models as well as other non neo Darwinist principle, is because they realize the........
@benthemiester " These men are hardcore evolutionist. They are no friends to creationist, or ID "
I know who they are.. they're not creationists at all - my point still stands.
You tried the old chestnut about micro/macro.. then you thought you'd through their names in to give you credibility... all I said was.. when either of them successfully prove your position.
@Roper122 I'm not sure what you mean by credibility, and I dont think you understand what is being said.
The extended synthesis is not my position. These proposition came as a result of the fact that evolutionist started to publicly question the limitations of the modern synthesis, & found it lacking, and want to relax many of its assumptions. I have nothing to prove. Its not my theory. The burden of proof lies on the one proposing the theory. It up to you to provide proof for macro evolution.
@Roper122 "Nope, it's already accepted, sorry about that.. if you want to tear it down... go for it...
But until you do... you're just wasting everyone's time"
Yes this is the problem, its been accepted, but has not been proven. This is my point. I don't think your familiar with the term name dropping either. I never bragged that I new them. I cited a couple of people from the A 16 summit who represent an international group of scientist, that all. Im not sure how that citation fails anything.
@benthemiester " I don't think your familiar with the term name dropping either "
- Really? Name Dropping -: 'As a form of appeal to authority, name dropping can be an important form of informal argumentation, as long as the name being dropped is of someone expert on the subject.'
No.. you're just being pedantic using a narrow definition to suit yourself.. and it fails because it doesn't support your assertion about evolution.
saying evolution is wrong becaue there are gaps in the fossil record is just like saying humans don't exist because you haven't met every single 7 billion humans so far
Exactly Oreceo. It must go thru the same processes science puts evolution thru to be considered on the same level of evidence. The guy on the video does a great job of explaining scientific processes.
...and this also came to mind, "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence", isn't that the same argument that President Bush used for WMA's in Iraq? Now does this guy really want to go there with the same argument, except its supposed to be in favor of evolution?
"Now does this guy really want to go there with the same argument, except its supposed to be in favor of evolution?" - except we do have the evidence:
- the ape human lineage has been reduced to microevolutionary steps
- there is a confirmed trend that genetic similarity is indicative of relatedness
- findings of intermediate forms fullfill a crucial testable prediction of evolutionary theory
- genetic markers in humans and chimps that can only arise via relatedness
- it provides a comprehensive framework for other sciences such medicine
- it can be used to make testable predictions about the locations of fossils, as well as their geological depth
- it provides constant benefits in technology through the field of evolutionary biology
- it has undergone scientific peer review, attained the highest level of scientific truth (scientific theory) and maintained it's position for the past 150 years, inspite of scrutiny from the best minds.
@types10000 Did you just respond to yourself! J/J, I understand why. Anyways, peer review doesn't matter. Paul had some peer review and it involved stones being thrown at him. The fact of this evolution debacle, is that you have some brilliant minds that don't want to believe in God. With that presupposition, they are quite intelligent, but they apply that brilliance towards their imagination. Now I am going to respond to myself, not enough characters.......
@chmmy3 Using terms like "genetic markers", not impressive. That is just like saying "look, I have an eyeball, they have an eyeball; therefore, we must be related." I don't want to go the Kirk Cameron route of common designer, common design, so lets not take it there either, please.
"Using terms like genetic markers, not impressive. That is just like saying "look, I have an eyeball, they have an eyeball;"
incorrect, i was infact referring to endogenous retrovirus (ERVs):
- a virus fails to replicate inside a sex cell resulting in an inert copy of the viral DNA being transmitted down that organisms genetic line at a particular place in the genome.
- the odds of two unrelated organisms acquiring 2 of the same ERVs is astronomical, humans and chimps share >15
""look, I have an eyeball, they have an eyeball; therefore, we must be related" - hahaha, that's hilarious, im not talking about simple similarities, i'm talking about patterns that can only be explained via common ancestry.
also as i already pointed out genetic similarity IS indicative of relatedness; it directly correlates to how related organisms are. it's a trend that's observable on the parent-child and species-subspecies level. it makes common ancestry the null hypothesis.
"common designer, common design, so lets not take"-you can if you want, it's erroneous concept that is easily debunked
-evolution is working off an established trend of genetic similarity being indicative of relatedness
-intelligent design is making a baseless assumption (that a God exists) and then saying that commonalities are a result of this God creating things in a similar way.
in addition to this your argument also implies that different designs indicate a DIFFERENT designer
@types10000 Not quite. You tried the old retrovirus marker. Perhaps apes and humans who lived at the same time caught the same virus (please spare me the men are apes classification, totally meaningless). In modern times, dogs catch colds, humans catch colds, is that supposed to mean something? That aside, why in the world would my argument it indicate a different designer? Just because man is limited doesn't mean God is limited. A play on words isn't an effective scientific argument.
"You tried the old retrovirus marker. Perhaps apes and humans who lived at the same time caught the same virus"- incorrect this is not a plausible explanation, endogenus retrovirus insert themselves at a PARTICULAR LOCATION in the genome, considering and considering the sheer size of the human/ape genomes....
"why in the world would my argument it indicate a different designer?" - if a COMMON design indicates a COMMON DESIGNER then it logically follows that a DIFFERENT DESIGN...

@IncDeathCreed You didn't prove anything so you are wrong.
Mutations don't accumulate or amount to anything in the real world of experimentation and in the fossil record.
JungleJargon 5 months ago
@JungleJargon You are a troll, there are most definately transition fossils you retard.
IncDeathCreed 5 months ago
@IncDeathCreed If there was a transitional fossil, as you say, you would have named it.
It is a proven fact that mutations do not accumulate or amount to anything because random mutations are not able to order any functions. They can only change existing functions.
That is what the facts are.
Evolution is a fraud and a fantasy. It does not happen in the real world.
Learn this fact even if it is the only thing you ever learn.
...then learn that only our Maker can be our Savior.
JungleJargon 5 months ago
@JungleJargon
DSkaz89 5 months ago
@JungleJargon
Retard.
DSkaz89 5 months ago
@DSkaz89 What is 90,000 compared to billions of possible locations. We were infected by the same infections depending on our susceptibility. It does not prove we are related to the apes. It is possible for leaves from two different trees to fall on each other in many different locations and that does not mean the trees are the same kind of tree. The infections can fall in any number of the same locations given the sililarities. This happened because of the time when all life was cursed to die.
JungleJargon 5 months ago
@JungleJargon "what is 90.000 compared to the billions of possible locations" the more possible locations the more astonishing it is to share ERVs in the same location moron, it seems you can't grasp the concept at all. DSkaz89 5 months ago

@JungleJargon "not encourage killing"
1) where the fuck did that come from?
2)I disagree and so does your god:
The law of god demands that you kill by stoning rapers and rape victims, rebellious teenagers, followers of other religions, just read deuteronomy, leviticus and the other good books of the old testament; and if you think the old testament means nothing, first of all you're mocking your gods laws and secondly jesus states the laws of the old testament will stay forever: matthew 5:17-20
DSkaz89 5 months ago
@DSkaz89 You have no concept of what a holy God is. Israel was a nation created by God and as such, He could allow no sin. God is not able to require anything less. The sin must be put out of the camp. Rape is never even allowed under any circumstances and yes, if the "victim" does not scream, that shows the person was complicit and not even a victim. God as God can say or require nothing less than perfection.
JungleJargon 5 months ago
@JungleJargon "Rape is never allowed"
DSkaz89 5 months ago
@DSkaz89 If you knew anything about law, you just contaminated the girl and she is worthless to anyone else after you "raped her".
Judges 21 : 25 "In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit."
How can you say that God commanded the deeds of Israel?
Rape was never allowed by God and the issue was an oath that they took not to give their daughters to a Benjamite. They did not "give" their daughters, they let them take their daughters. It had nothing to do with God.
JungleJargon 4 months ago
@JungleJargon It is clear it is YOU who has no idea who yaweh really is.
First you claim that the bible never sets rules for killing, unaware of the fact that god commands death by stoning for a number of silly reasons like not screaming when being raped (even if bitgagged and unable to do so)
So you claim god is perfect and never allows rape (except when it is done on virgins of other nations after you massacre their families). Ignorant fool, go read your bible you mindless idiot.
DSkaz89 5 months ago
@DSkaz89 You are confusing Christian teaching with the Law made for Israel. Christian teaching does not advocate killing. The Law of Israel advocates capital punishment for serious violations of the Law. There was no reason for keeping a violator of the Law of God inside the nation of God (ideally). We know the nation eventually became very corupt just like anyone else.
The Bible never encouraged anyone to rape anyone. You are slandering a perfect God.

If there is such a thing as a god the one slandering it is you by associating it with the monster described in the bible.
DSkaz89 5 months ago
@DSkaz89 Yes, there was no commandment to rape. You have no idea of who you are slandering and you are slandering your Maker.
No people or nations had to attack God and His servant Israel and Israel did make peace with peaceful people.
There is no evidence of any other maker than the very great, all knowing, all powerful Maker of the fabrication of all of the functions within the time and space that He stretched out all by Himself. He also made Israel to make a name for Himself in the earth.
JungleJargon 5 months ago
@JungleJargon "no evidence of any other maker" Except from the 4000 other makers worshipped by humanity troughout history and the ever growing idiocies like mormons, scientologists etc...
Besides, i think you are insulting the maker of the universe more than anybody by associating it with a stupid plagarized myth from the canaanite religion.
If he wanted to make a name he might as well write it in our DNA... OPS we know of a maker that signed our dna already: EVOLUTION!
DSkaz89 4 months ago

LOL
DSkaz89 4 months ago
@DSkaz89 Random Chance cannot ever result in orders or directives of any kind. That's why mutations never accumulate so as to amount to anything because they are not ordered mutations.
That means that "evolution" does not happen and is not responsible for anything.existing.
The function that hydrogen has holding DNA together has the signature of the Maker of the function that hydrogen has.
You are too busy making strawman arguments and knocking them down to understand anything about function.

DSkaz89 4 months ago 3
@JungleJargon Look up POLYPLOIDY--> it completely destroys the "mutations never amount to anything" argument. Hydrogen doesn not hold DNA together. What holds DNA together is covalent bonding between the amino acids and the phosphate lattice to which they attach, same as RNA. It is the PO4 component that makes the difference. Phosphate forms naturally as phosphorus is to reactive to be found in a pure state--it always combines with oxygen [see a vid of phosphorus in water]. Too bad, so sad

LOL
DSkaz89 5 months ago
@DSkaz89 Everything living has to grow the same way as everything else. There is no other way for life forms to exist.
Nothing has ever changed into being something else. The variations are limited because the information in the genome is limited and mutations are not able to order anything. It is the genome that orders things.
JungleJargon 5 months ago
@JungleJargon "the information is limited"
DSkaz89 5 months ago
@DSkaz89 Conjecture is not scientific fact.
There is no information for seeing, hearing, smelling or so many of the things that we do like walking or talking.
JungleJargon 5 months ago
@JungleJargon if you have a 6 gigabyte hard-disk and a 600 gigabyte hard-disk, which one CAN STORE more information?
If the amoeba can store more information then why does it not do so? Why does it not have the information to see, talk, praise invisible beings etc? Why did god put all that space there and did not use it? Is god an idiot? Well it certainly seems that way since he doesn't even know the basics of information storing.

We will know after we die which was right.

you obviously arent a fan of science (or high iq).
the word theory in science is slightly different than from everyday use.
definition, scientific theory: a scientific theory must explain all relevant facts and be contradicted by none.
i hope this cleared some of your misconceptions and you do not humiliate yourself anymore.
OmfgItsHenu 6 months ago

do u know how long it would take for erosion , like rain and rivers to wash away everything above seal level? 14 million years, if the earth were one billion years old, our continents would have eroded away some 70 times. total amount of sediment flowing into the ocean is 2.5 billion tons every year. There are 30.4 million cubic miles of continental crust above sea level having a mass of 383 million tons. 383 million billion tons+27.5billion tons per year = 14 million years.

@1billion1deaths1 oh indeed there's lots of erosions but fortunately erosion is not the only thing acting on land but there's also that little thing called PLATE TECTONICS, the reason for why there are mountains growing up right now.

It is just not possible.

briefly put its more like space, time, energy, atoms, hydrogen, wait a loooong time for stars and nuclear fusion, then more elements, eventually some oxygen so you have water. its complicated but it can be proven and demonstrated. it should not be easy to explain existence, that would be disappointing. but that is what you have done, you've made it simple, you have cuddled up into a little ball screaming lalalalalalaaa refusing to think or work at finding the answers.
jackofeet1000 10 months ago
i will tell you now that that is actually what it takes, a lot of work and it is difficult, go study and dont whine like a little bitch when it gets hard, you can do it
jackofeet1000 10 months ago
@JesusRealTV
BadScienceForFools 10 months ago

Fact- The bible was written 3000 years ago ( or a little more) Point is , the people back then didn't have the tools to make discoveries on how the earth formed, when it did and how life came to be. If you read Genesis, It gives a very narrow view on what caused everything......GOD !!!!

"I was wishing on a star late at night up in my ivory tower, children, and it came to me as a glorious vision! I looked, and behold; a giant mustard fart exploded and bred with the cosmic egg which hatched a little speck of life in the primordial soup. Pretty soon this speck had wriggled up on dry land and sprouted opposable thumbs and an anus to pass all the pent-up gas it had built up over several billion years, and behold; it was gooot!
salmagnum 11 months ago
@salmagnum ...Nice story... Almost as ridiculous as if you put in the word " god "
But I'm sure Ken Miller will be concerned that his scientific credentials are being undermined by...fart stories.
Roper122 11 months ago
Classic dual standard. Miller says that creationist dont have any evidence to refute Neo Darwinism/evolution but when he goes on to speak of missing fossils, he says, absent of evidence is not evidence of absents. It doesn't matter what side of the fence your on. That stament was retarded and self contradictory.
benthemiester 1 year ago
@benthemiester " he says, absent of evidence is not evidence of absents "
- No actually, that a perfectly valid statement... listen to the rest of what he says.
There is evidence for evolution.. heaps of it.
He's just referring to the attempt to point at gaps.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence...
Hell, even creationists use this argument all the time.
But they use it when there is indeed a complete absence of evidence.
It's confusing.. but makes perfect sense.
Roper122 1 year ago
@Roper122 No its a contradiction, however I do agree that there is over whelming evidence for evolution & even the most ardent creationist know this. The fact that life can adapt & change over time is not disputed. What is disputed, is the neo Darwinian synthesis & its grand assumptions. E.G. Molecule to man/ common ancestry/ macro evolution. Right now even people like M. Pigliucci, Stewart Newman and others are calling for a relaxing of many of the assumptions of the neo Darwinian synthesis.
benthemiester 11 months ago
@benthemiester .... don't start confusing evolution with abiogenesis.
and don't start trying to splice evolution up into micro and macro... evolution is evolution... and there's overwhelming evidence for it. Sorry.
When Pigliucci or Newman do anything to successfully prove your macro theory - let me know.
Otherwise... you're just blowing smoke.
Roper122 11 months ago
@Roper122 Again, it depends on what you mean by evolution. In the broader sense of the word, chemical evolution is a part of evolution, and is just as valid a scientific construct as any other, even if it doesn't fit into the neo Darwinian synth, however this was not my point. What I am referring to is, the first living cell - too man. Maybe thats a better way of saying it. The fundamental principle of biology is that life only comes from other living things. Everything else requires faith.
benthemiester 11 months ago

@benthemiester " What I am referring to is, the first living cell "
- Well then, you're not talking about evolution.
So that clears that up.
And no.. it doesn't require faith to not know something and be researching it...
it requires faith to make absolute statements with no evidence whatsoever.
Anything else?

Roper122 11 months ago
@Roper122 I'm not sure what you mean by credibility, and I dont think you understand what is being said.
The extended synthesis is not my position. These proposition came as a result of the fact that evolutionist started to publicly question the limitations of the modern synthesis, & found it lacking, and want to relax many of its assumptions. I have nothing to prove. Its not my theory. The burden of proof lies on the one proposing the theory. It up to you to provide proof for macro evolution.

Yes this is the problem, its been accepted, but has not been proven. This is my point. I don't think your familiar with the term name dropping either. I never bragged that I new them. I cited a couple of people from the A 16 summit who represent an international group of scientist, that all. Im not sure how that citation fails anything.
benthemiester 11 months ago

Like I said, a distinction where there is none.

- oh and by the way... this is a nonsense statement as well.
You know exactly what I was saying. Don't be a pedant.

saying evolution is wrong becaue there are gaps in the fossil record is just like saying humans don't exist because you haven't met every single 7 billion humans so far

@Oreceo

- genetic markers in humans and chimps that can only arise via relatedness
.etc

@chmmy3

@chmmy3
"common designer, common design, so lets not take"-you can if you want, it's erroneous concept that is easily debunked
-evolution is working off an established trend of genetic similarity being indicative of relatedness
-intelligent design is making a baseless assumption (that a God exists) and then saying that commonalities are a result of this God creating things in a similar way.
in addition to this your argument also implies that different designs indicate a DIFFERENT designer
types10000 1 year ago
@types10000 Not quite. You tried the old retrovirus marker. Perhaps apes and humans who lived at the same time caught the same virus (please spare me the men are apes classification, totally meaningless). In modern times, dogs catch colds, humans catch colds, is that supposed to mean something? That aside, why in the world would my argument it indicate a different designer? Just because man is limited doesn't mean God is limited. A play on words isn't an effective scientific argument.

@chmmy3
