oh" and I forgot to mention besides the new Drive switch and boost, this amp has an Extra master volume knob that the old one did not have which really gives this amp Totall All out BALLS! Enough said!
@dewycatt2112 WELL SAID SIR!!! i bought this amp based only on these demos, as well as a couple of others. Am i sorry? HELL FUCKNIG NO!!!!!! These are great amps that out perform and out sound all the "other" amps i tried out. Great amp, great build quality, great tones great price!!
I had this amp and its far better than the old ones. That new drive switch and the boost really makes a big difference than the old...I could never get this kind of distortion out of the old ones.with the old ones I kept trying" but just ended up going to Marshalls for that BADASS GRIND!! but carvin has definately got it right on the balls with this one!! A real WINNER!
Nice review. Love my x100B series iv!! The variety of usable sounds is amazing. I have clean, overdrive using a TS808 (SRV, blues), overdrive using lead channel with toggle switch off (classic rock), lead channel with toggle on. All easily accessable live. Add a little delay and chorus in the effects loop for leads and you have a killer live rig!
Nice playing and tone! The amp sounds great. I've yet to hear one in preson. I'd love to get one, especially for the price. I've read many people saying that the amps sounds good but it seems to lack the volume of most 100 watt heads. Is this true? A lot of gigs I play aren't mic'ed through a P.A. so I would hate to have that be a problem. I play hard rock mostly.
@TheAxe4Ever No way, these amps get loud at the 100 watt setting. The 100/50/25 watt switch is a great addition. peopl who knock this head are just marshall,Mesa boogie snobs etc. These are great sounding and versatile. this demo doesn't really do it justice. Get one, you will like it. I love mine.
Good job. This is a really good review of this amp. I like the way you focused more on the amp, and didn't have a guitargasim. Ha Ha. How well do you think the clean channel will do with an electric wih an acoustic pickup in it? Again, great job.
The Carvin X amps have always been my favorite. I still have my original X60 single 12 combo bought in 1984. Hundreds of gigs with that amp, the most reliable piece of gear i have ever owned! I have a second X60 combo, later model with the FXloop, and also a beautiful XT112 combo with 'hot rod mode'. The X100B reissue is simply a fantastic amp! I bought one and am now thinking of buying a second.Carvin has taken all the best things about the X amp series and improved on them. The Mark IV is
Really nice amp! How is it on like Hardcore music etc. I like it cause its older hardrock sound. but that i still seem to get some newer gainish sound

What speakers are you running in your cab?
Scott515087 2 years ago
I am running the Carvin Brit 12's in my cabs.

I love the Br12's. Such a good crisp sound.
I have an all orig. fuzzy carpet full stack.
How good is the distortion on the reissued heads?
MattiasOfTheMetal 2 years ago
Correction.
I meant to say how good are they compared to the orig. issued heads [if you've had experience with them] ?
MattiasOfTheMetal 2 years ago
Yes, I have alot of experience with the originals. I loved the originals but, I have to say, I like the re-issue better.

Hi Keith good demo of the amp.
I'm thinking of getting this amp or the legacy 2
do you think the legacy is worth the price difference?
