If you need to use any type of liquid fuel consider converting your mower into a geet system. There are free plans. They aren't sold in stores because it doesn't produce enough pollution.
Electric mowers are for wimpy lawns. There's no electric mower that can out do or out last a gas mower - period. Electric mowers are for small lawns that are no more than a few inches high and under about 800 sft, anything more and they'll begin to burn up.
@theothertroll It's likely that 90% of the population live in the city where the lawn is under 100sqft. The other 10% should own one just to cut small areas to reduce pollution. If you burn up your electric mower you've bought the wrong type or not familiar on using it. People have to be more conscious and aware about how they consume and pollute.
@theothertroll The electrical stuff that you witnessed is most likely powered by universal motors. You can tell by the super high, SCREAMING noise they make. These motors are not torquey. Now on the flip side if you took a 5 HP ac induction then it would be a monster. A 5 HP gas would not touch it, period, and plus AC induction motors do not have brushes like those stupid universal motors so they outlast your gas engine too.
I stopped using gas mowers because I was getting sick from the exhaust and the loud noise. After switching to electric I can't believe how reliable it is. It starts up all the time and never clogs or need new spark plugs. Everybody should get one of these mowers.
@theothertroll I know better than to pollute the sky or youtube and argue with anyone who resort to name calling. My Black and Decker mower is old and rusty, the blade looks like it's from the stone ages but it still cuts well on all grasses. My other strong but polluting gas mower sits there collecting cobwebs.
@bravecat100 How can you poilutethe world with 50 cents of feul used per lawn cutting... but one thing is i do believe in ellectric lawn mowers now in a big way..

@bravecat100 - Everybody? Reliable? LOL! No electric mower would last a single day on my lawns. You're a dumb ass.
